    I'm really curious how she's not overwhelmed with the # of patients compared to what I hear from other FM docs, but her lifestyle seems VERY manageable! Look forward to clinicals where I get to see more of it :))

    She handled it really well. But you rapid fire asked her so many questions right away that she couldn't get you or her coffee. She tried a couple times and then gave up. XD

    she seems like an amazing doctor. my primary care is wham bam thank you mam, I have things to do...which seems to be a bit of a trend..its refreshing to see a doctor who really cares and love what they do.

    • @melionaire
      @melionaire 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

      I believe she said in one of her videos that she gets 1 hour for annual physicals and 30min for regular visits. She’s lucky to get that amount of time. Most primary care offices care more about numbers and don’t give their providers enough time to be with the patient.

    • @ggram0551
      @ggram0551 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed. I can even be ok with the wham bam, if there's even an ounce of grace with it. I once had to have an online appointment with the medical director of the practice, (love his mid levels...who always leave...not a fan of him)....who literally yelled at me and wanted to end the appointment as my visual went down, (audio was totally fine, and literally zero need for a visual).
      There were other instances as well. I'm in healthcare myself, (physical therapy transitioning to nursing), and I would be fired on the spot if I ever did anything remotely like the medical director has seemingly routinely done, (based on other online reviews).
      This physician sounds like she's 1 of 1.

      those who whine about the quality of med, what do you do for a living? do you go above and beyond for the people whom you deal with or are you setting higher standards for medical doctors? that's called ebung selfish. in professional term, narcissism.

    • @marvynluna3637

      its usually not the doctors fault. Its administration (who has no medical background making doc push numbers or they get dinged)

    I am an oncologist and thinking to switch my specialty to family medicine. there is always pros and cons with each specialty. 3 years of residency is doable after a 5 years residency in oncology. I switch from clinical oncology to research but missing clinical work but did not feel going back to oncology.
    I am very hopeful now after this interview :)

    I am glad she has a great work life balance. But the burnout happens more with FM physicians who are seeing 36 or more patient hours. FM physicians who are only in clinic 2 to 3 days a week definitely fare better. Most of these docs will still check messages, fill prescriptions, check emails, finish charts when not in the office so it can be done at a more leisurely pace compared to a doctor who is seeing patients 5 days a week. In addition, working 2 days a week means fewer patients so there are less messages, prescriptions, charts to do. It's important to paint a realistic picture if discussing a good work to life balance in Family Medicine. While I am happy for her, this is not realistic when discussing the high burn-out in Family Medicine. It is also not the case that everyone can afford to work part-time. I'm glad that this is working for her.
