No Plymouths in this race. Petty had shelved his uncompetitive Dodge Magnum in 78 leaving Buddy Arrington and a few others independents to run Chrysler. Should have mention Mercury as Neil Bonnett, Bill Elliott, & Ricky Rudd ran the 1976 Cougar.

Yeah, I don't think NASCAR being stock has anything to do with the racing quality, my example being the late 90s. The main problem with modern NASCAR in my opinion is the format of the races.

When I was a boy, my Brother, Mother and I traveled to Quebec and on a nice sunny day my Grand Father fed me sugar cane dipped in raw sugar still in the sack; and boy was that SWEET!!!! on another sunny day my Mother drove us to a small dirt track in the bottom of this big hole. We lived in the upper Midwest ... where all I had was ABC's Wide World of Sports. Sometimes. This gives me a chance to watch all-time greats and races I never got to see growing up. Tremendous idea laying the MNR broadcast over the action also. All-time greats represented there also :)

As great a historic document as the video footage is, I almost found it distracting. This is the '27 Yankees and '85 Bears of nascar commentary teams.
