A much easier way to remember this is to think of alpha 1 ( constrict ) alpha 2 ( decrease ) and beta 1 ( contract) and beta 2 ( dilate ) so this way agonists and antagonists simply stimulate and inhibit.
    Eg b1 cardio selective receptor blocker...atenolol....b1 think..contraction...beats faster....b1 blocker...slows down
    Clonidine....alpha 2 agonist...alpha 2....decreases...so by stimulating it , less noradenaline is released..blood pressure drops.
Think always a1 constrict a2 decrease b1 contract b2 dilate....you cant go wrong....if you want hints for the cholinergic system let me know.

@@samanthaketterer3064 I’ve since tried a few things. For me, Strattera (SNRI) really helped (but that’s not the case with everyone). And B1 (300mg/day) is REALLY helping. B1 deficiency can mimic POTs. You need B1 for Acetylcholine production, without it your parasympathetic branch doesn’t work like it should.

Dr mike your lecture is amazing and contains a lot of information thanks but you are talking too fast mentioning agonist and antagonist to some thing that interrupts my understanding. Could you please doctor mention those stuff with more explanation ? you know that's my first time to study this so more depiction would be nice. I recommend this video for those who needs to revise sympathetic drugs quickly before exams it's short 11 mins and its worthy to listen to it.
