lyrically In The End and What A Fool Believes are both songs about a failed relationship and the emotional harm putting too much weight on the past can cause. theyre also both examples of genres fully dated to their era of existence, and are thusly mocked for their status as music of its time (yacht rock, nu metal). this dated aspect combined with the subject matter of relationships gone by provides a neat meta-theme for the two songs' juxtaposition. this is where similarities end, and my plot to enact revenge on neil for his pop music crimes begins.
I was wracking my brain for months trying to figure out why this mashup works so well, then finally realized that In The End is in the relative minor key of What A Fool Believes
@@carlosalmonacid8958 with the song this is better than both of them, plus with the additional meaning with theme and naming of songs (in the end it doesn’t matter is what a fool believes)
oh man i just teared up, i use to listen to the neil's mashup albums while on the bus when i started secondary. back then i didnt have any friends and neil's music was a big part of each day and helped me alot with loneliness. thanks for making this.
There's always memories bound to the music we listen to. Frankly, Neil's music being such a blend of weird, fitting, and being generally recognizable _really_ adds to that factor, doesn't it?
My absolute favourite part about Neil's work is all the little things he hides in the technical aspect of his music. In this case, he combined what a fool believes with In the End. After all, It doesn't even matter how hard you try is just What a Fool Believes
I don't get why everyone thinks this. The real meaning of it is just so simple. Do you want to know why he mixed The End with What A Fool Believes? Just simply look at the tracklisting. Why is it in the middle? Thinking it's actually the end of the album is just what a fool believes. It's most likely just that. And Neil probably just thought it'd be funny to put a depressing song over an upbeat instrumental. That's really it.
how is that a "little thing"? It's very obvious to anyone listening. It's just mashup. Sounds great tough, but it's not rocket science, or unnoticeable.
@@arsipantsu "little" does not mean obscure. And Neil has clearly shown he has no problem putting hidden stuff into his albums and songs, especially if it's for word play
I feel like any problems I have about the video have nothing to do with your video and more to do with Linkin Park having an uncreative video director. I liked this a lot! Good job!

"What a Fool Believes" by The Doobie Brothers. This was in their second phase, the Michael McDonald years. They started with a completely different sound, of country-tinged hard-edged motorcycle guitar rock, with Tom Johnston as the main singer/songwriter. Hits from this era include "Jesus Is Just Alright," "Listen to the Music," and "China Grove." Tom Johnston had to quit for health reasons, then Michael McDonald joined and transformed it into the synth-heavy blue-eyed soul you're hearing here. I love the Doobies' first phase and mostly dislike the McDonald era, and this is the hardest I've ever heard this song slap. Neil has that effect on songs.
The mood of the song is more melancholy and liberated instead of nihilistic and depressed and angry. "it doesn't even matter" as an expression of acceptance and serenity despite the pain instead of angst
Im actually trying to make music videos too not just overlapping footage and sync but *I dont have any good editing software only kapwing and thats its limited*
This is like the ultimate background music to a severe mental breakdown.
Funny, I’m watching this as I’m waiting for my therapist to text back
This but the credits of the film are scrolling
really? feels like i'm in autumn with this song.
Once I had a hamster and when he died (rip ham sandwich) I decided to listen to this instead of being normal and moving on.

This is one of the few Mouth Moods videos that's really competently edited. A+++, a pleasure to do business with

I think you did the song justice.
I honestly like this version more than the original version
Same it blends more
The original version of the song or the music video? If it's the song, which one (The End or What a Fool Believes)?
ok shut up :)

The flying whale, the grass and vines growing rapidly from the ground, this truly inspired Death Stranding from the beginning.
Was Linkin Park truly the first strand type band?

This song's vibe is like when somebody asks if you're depressed but you're good at faking being happy.
I like how even Mike Shinoda can't keep himself from smiling in the original video, it makes the mashup work even better.
