Great work Nick. The finished model looks good, I like the details especially the "thunderbird " script on the front guards 👍🏻 Well worth all the ups and downs 😡. Hope all is well. Cheers Chris 🎯🍾🍻👍🏻🇦🇺🇦🇺
blimey Nick what a marathon Dan Tanner just wasn't having it was he, glad to see you got it done despite the resistance , I've been eyeing one of these in my local shop but I think he can keep it now all the best Neil 👍👍
Hi Neil, yes it was one of those lol, but some of it was down to my stupidity, not thinking through what I was doing properly and some was a bit of bad luck lol, it could have happened like this doing any model so I would say keep eyeing up the one in your local shop, you will probably sail through a restoration on one of these😊👍 Take care, all the best, Nick🐸🐸
Great job Nick love the red you have done it in. I thought i was the only one who had problems with models 😂 Times I’ve put models back together and then realised I missed something out . Thanks for another great video . David
Thank you David, you definitely aren’t the only one to have problems with the models lol, yes I’ve done that, left bits out then messed up the paint trying to get my rivets out again, dropping a model when painting it is another one lol and then there’s the super glue on fingers that you only realize you’ve done when you try to let go the model but you’re stuck to it !!🤣😂🤣 Glad you enjoyed this one despite it being a long one again, take care, all the best, Nick👍😊🐸🐸
Thank you Glyn, all good here thanks, I hope you and yours are well too, yes this one certainly tested my patience lol🤦🏻♂😉 Take care, all the best, Nick🐸🐸
Thank you Paul, lol well it probably could have been but I waited till I had switched the camera off before venting my frustration 🤣😂😉 Pleased you enjoyed the video, probably a bit more entertaining than some of my others😉😊 All the best, Nick🐸🐸
Thank you Paul, it did try my patience a bit lol, I had to set it aside a couple of times and go back to it with a clear head lol, it did nearly end up flying out the window once or twice though🤦🏻♂🤔😂🤣😊🐸🐸
That's a cracking little car Nick, it looks great especially with the jewelled headlights and the white wall tyres. Sorry to say I was laughing near the end when the car was fighting back at you, I thought you were going to blow up but your perseverance was worth it. Well done. All the best. Peter.
Thank you Peter, at least it was a bit more entertaining than usual lol, the model nearly went out the window a couple of times😂🤣and there was a bit of🤬🤬😡 off camera too!! All the best, Nick🐸🐸
Thank you Steven, oh no, a restorers worst nightmare, I bet your heart was in your mouth🤦🏻♂😞 I’ve had one of those scissor clamps snap on me when I was spraying one of my models outside and it fell in the dirt, it’s just all the preparation work before you get to this point that you have to do again that’s a pain in the arse🤦🏻♂🤔 All the best, Nick🐸🐸
I no how you feel pal I Don a car last yeah the same as you but it was my cat she got on it some how and it was a fairy car in Black and the car was silver and a foot print to lol love your channel 👍💯
Oh no, that must have been a nightmare, your cat wanted to help you lol😸 I’m really pleased you like my channel, thank you for watching my videos and happy restoring 👍👍😊 All the best, Nick🐸🐸
Thank you my friend, yes that’s for sure and this one definitely did that, but there you are, I made a few silly mistakes along the way, another learning curve😊👍 All the best, Nick🐸🐸
Nice job despite the trials and tribulations Nick! I see you got hold of a wax pencil 😉that shold pick the rivets up too. Quick question, (I feel i'm being thick and missed something 🤔) where and how are these good folks sending these items/models for you to restore/use? Cheers, Bill.
Thank you Bill, yes that wax pencil was good bit of advice, don’t know how I’ve managed without one all this time, it should cut down on the amount of time I spend on my hands and knees on the floor looking for stuff 😁👍 As regards the model donations, mostly these good folks have emailed me for my address or left a request for my email in the comments, my email address and home address are also on the about page of my channel and basically they have very kindly sent these models by post, which has been very much appreciated 👍 All the best, Nick🐸🐸
Thank you for that Michael, I had to see this one through as it was a donated model, but so much went wrong lol, a lot of what went wrong was my own fault too lol 🤦🏻♂🤔 Take care, all the best, Nick🐸🐸
Considering everything else was fairly straightforward, that bonnet and engine detail seemed quite unnecessarily complex for a toy that, judging by the original paint, was made on the cheap. You live and learn, eh? I'm not keen on these larger Dinkies: there is not enough good quality detail on them for the size they are. The newer paint is a bugger to shift, and often comes off in panels. It is a pain! You have managed a Silk Purse, Nick, nonetheless!
Thank you Fraser, the quality definitely isn’t the same on these later Corgi models, the base plate had never been off and yet the bits that clamped the axles to the base plate were wide open, not sure why that was like that, as regards the paint, I wish my paint was as hard as the one that eventually came off the model in the first place lol. Ah well, onwards and upwards as Martin says, onto the next one😊👍 All the best, Nick🐸🐸
Arguably the worst die cast Corgi have been responsible for Nick so follows suit that it would not conform to a makeover. Ironically your resto produced the car that Corgi should have in the first place. Also glad to see I don’t have the monopoly on repainting the repainting😂 Cheers Paul
Thank you Paul, for sure you don’t have the monopoly on repainting lol it’s happened on many occasions and I’m quite sure it’s going to happen many times in the future🤔🤔🤦🏻♂😁 All the best, Nick🐸🐸

Thank you Chris, sorry I missed your comments, all good here thanks, hope all is well with you, All the best, Nick🐸🐸🇯🇪🥂🍻
That one gave you a bit of a tussel but you beat it into submission by the end of the video. It looks wonderful.
Despite all the ups and downs nick this turned out very smart, the jewelled head lights worked out great .excellent 👍
Thank you Martin, it did try my patience though lol😁👍🐸🐸

What a nightmare Nick but you got there in the end well done 👍.
Thank you Adrian, yes, it seems sometimes the models just want to be left alone lol😉😊🐸🐸
Great work as always. Look’s smashing! Thanks for showing us how it’s done.
Thank you Alan, I think there was more of how not to do it in this video rather than how it’s done though lol 😁🐸🐸
Great work Nick, very patient man,,, is the rude and blue version on the dark web,, thank you for great video..

Quite a good resto,Nick.there,is i believe.a pink 'Elvis' version of this, without the figure!
Thank you Terry, I will have look that up, I have enough bits to make up another one now so I might have a go that version😊👍🐸🐸

@@crapaudnicksdiecastrenovat1739 I am a bit ashamed to admit that I have actually postponed reassembly because of FOFU (fear of fu..... up) syndrome😬
@@oldhick9047 I’ve done that as well lol, I thought it was just me, I wonder how many of us restorers get that condition!!🤔😁
