Chris, your videos are so great and well planned. I'm in awe of your plans for inkvent, colorvent and for 2025. You also mentioned the other calls on your time. I wish that I was as organised as you seem to be. I'm participating in the Inkvent for the fittest first time this year so I can't wait for your reports on the inkvent/colorvent. Thank you so much.
Hi @raybuck -- lol I don't feel organized at all .... probably since I took on too much in November. But, I'm sure excited about the Colorvent and Inkvent. I'm considering doing Colorvent in December and Inkvent in January as odd as that sounds. I must decide today though.
Another wonderful pen chat Chris. Yes, I have the Inkvent, but I'm not certain what approach I want to take. I was really pleased you got the correct pronunciation down for the Pink Guava!! I think I'm pretty much done with acquiring dip pens (or making them) when the latest one I got was labelled the Majohn Master N12. It is a handle with a Glass dip nib that is in a holder and 3 sizes of regular steel dip nibs. The Glass nib if far more usable than my first one. Three more vintage pens - a Parker 21, a Waterman 0552-1/2 V Gothic gold overlay, and finally the tiniest pen in my collection - a Parker Lucky Curve Baby!! I'm sure you've heard the news - Anderson pens will no longer be open for business as of 21 December. It's a real shame they were force out of business by a lawsuit. For those who want to, they can help them out by buying the products they still have on the site that will help them cover their costs. I have one more order coming fro them - 2 inks and a Monteverde MP1. Health wise I'm doing well, but at the end of December I'm having dental work done that is long overdue!! Looking forward to your next video.
Hi @zeus52452 oh that's terrible about Anderson Pens ... my word they don't seem like the kind of people to be in legal trouble. I don't know any of the details but I had heard a rumor they were going out of business. That's a shame + I'm sorry to hear it. I'm hoping my dip pens will work out well with the samples of the Colorvent and Inkvent I believe they will because I did use 2 ml samples in the past ... the Sailor Hocoro ones definitely are small enough. Good luck with exploring your Inkvent and also good luck with your dental work!
Crikey, December 22, I've been so busy I thought I'd missed most of Inkvent! Great video, have to agree with your Benu Euphoria top choice. I love all three of mine too, especially the B nib and feed which seems to be able to handle any ink.
Hi David lol my brain went completely nuts that just stunned me when I realized I had said December 22. :) Tried to label a correction but if you blink you will miss it. :)
Hi Chris! I'm so happy to see you're doing Inkvent and Colorvent! I got the Colorvent for myself - it's my first time doing an ink advent calendar, so I'm very excited! I've been busy this month getting organized. I have 21 pens ready...and have just used up the last ink in 3 more. My plan is to actually fully ink up a different pen each day and write with it exclusively that day to get a good feel for the ink. And if I don't love it, no problem, as I know I'll have a different ink the following day. Now I need to make my swatch grid - I'm so glad you shared what you're doing. I hadn't even thought about the swatching, but yeah...I really like the look of the calendar grid with all the color squares. So excited!
Hi Liz -- oh cool I'm glad you're doing Colorvent and hope it's a fun month for you! :) I just love seeing all the inks on a calendar spread it's one of the most fun parts for me. Have a great December!
Thank you Chris you just gave me a way to store my ink samples. because I never thought a shell case could fit the sample vials . Now I got to go get me some shell cases.
I’m doing Inkvent. I resisted the Colorverse one which was hard because I really like colorverse inks. I’ll have to enjoy them through your videos. Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi Kathy -- it's exciting because they are going to produce the top 3 inks -- apparently they are having voting. :) I'm grateful for the samples because the calendar price is yikes AND I have way too much ink.
Hi, Chris. Always great to have your updates. I also love my BENU Euphoria pens. If I'm remembering correctly, Colorverse is providing a QR code on their Colorvent box that links to online voting. I assume anyone who has that link can vote. I don't plan to participate in either December ink event because I have enough ink for three lifetimes and I'm trying not to let any more ink in the house. But the idea of making my own advent calendar using samples I'm trying to get through is tempting. I'm looking forward to your December ink videos and your Top 5 pens video!
The drive to accumulate phase is what I’ve been in for the past year or so, but for wax stamps for me. I think it’s because I am still figuring out what I like and what my style is, and once I do I’ll feel settled. Not sure if that makes sense, but you’re the first person I’ve seen talk about this so I wanted to comment 😅
Hi Chris, I’m not doing Inkvent or Colorvent, but I’m looking forward to watching your videos! I can’t stand shimmer inks because the glitter falls off (I hate glitter!) and I’m not a fan of sheening inks, either. I’m not adventurous about inks but live vicariously through your videos. 😅 I love journaling, however, and I’ve been journaling a lot lately as well. 💙👊🫶
Hi @Cardenio2012 -- oh wow I don't like glitter transfer either .... onto my hands or other pages of writing ... I'm already liking the Colorverse Colorvent better because there seem to only be 3 glittery ones. :)
Hi Chris, i understand your loving the euphoria, it’s so nice to write with (even if a bit distracting) they are so beautiful! I find myself using my benu’s mostly. I really enjoy all your videos but the pen chats are my favourites! Have a good thanksgiving weekend 🦃!
So glad your mom's certification has been sorted out. I can't fathom why bureaucracies create such convoluted paths. I would love to see you do a very detailed side by side for the Euphoria and Talisman. I got my daughter a Talisman for Christmas last year because Cult Pens had a great deal and it was so beautiful I almost kept it😹 They have so many beautiful and creative options it's very hard to choose.
1. I no longer explore new inks, having basically settled on De Atramentis Artist Ink. There remain half a dozen I have yet to get, for a total of 20-something. The one exception is Sailor Ink Studio 680 (dark brown), because I decided to baby my King of Pen with only Sailor Ink. 2. I just checked my usage records and was surprised to see that the two pens I use the most (by a ways) were the two cheapest I (still) have: a Carbon Desk Pen at $14, and a Pilot Parallel at $8. They are neither my best pens, nor my favorites, but maybe they are my most important pens.
Hi Ichiro - oh cool I have several DeAtramentis samples I gathered them up for a future ink exploration. There are a few of their inks I really love and among these samples are some documents ones so I'm curious. I would not be exploring new inks either except people have sent them and I do like the explorations! LOL
@@ChrisSaenz13 I suspect that the Artist inks and the Document inks are the same thing. More or less. I detest their bottles because the opening is tiny.
Sis this is your channel. You can talk about anything you wish and if anyone has a problem it’s their problem not yours. Live your truth in every aspect of your life. As always your videos are like talking to a friend. Thanks for being you.
Back in the late 1990s, I got a Safari which had a nib mis-aligned tines. So I avoided Safari's for many years. But about 7 or 8 years ago, I replaced the nib and discovered that Safari's are really good. I have a few of them now. Thanks for the video.
Hi @Calcprof -- oh wow I'm glad you got the replacement nib and revisited Safari's I think they are great but I can well imagine the impression a bad nib makes!!!
Thanks Chris, great video, you covered a lot of areas! I’m glad to see you make it to your PenFast goal and setting new ones, regardless what you decide. I find that Journalling helps me keep calm and throughout my day - that ritual of pen/ ink/ nib/ and paper has me hypnotized 👁👁 in a writing zone- at the end I find my self relaxed and ready to start my day (after Morning Pages and ☕). My own PenFast goals are being met while I include watching your updates, thanks! Have a great Holiday 🦃
I'm so grateful for that small bottle of Gravity wave I still have some I love that ink it is one of my treasured inks , I am doing this years inkvent and Hopefully this years Colorvent I havnt heard from the person who said they are sending me samples of the colorvent but Hopefully this week we will see a package from them :)
Hi Marilyn -- I'm so far behind on answering comments and on watching videos. Did you get samples of the Colorvent? I can't believe it but December is already here as I type this!
The cases were produced to hold shot gun shells but they fit 25 ink samples and have been repurposed by ink people they are called: MTM Case-Gard S-25-12M and can be purchased at Amazon or the MTM company (also they used to be carried by Ink Journal not sure if they still have them): mtmcase-gard.com/products/shotshell-box-25-round-flip-top-10-12-gauge-up-to-3-5-inch?variant=42573906411746
Looking forward to your ink videos. I am creating my own “Inkvent “ this year. I am having my husband go through my ink vials and past Inkvent bottles and pull 25 samples out and then place them behind the doors of my wooden Christmas tree calendar. I just have so much ink I can’t justify buying more this year.
I am so appreciative of your sincerity, Chris. 💜
Hi @jamessims9475 - thank you!
Hello Chris, thank you for this update, I enjoyed it very much. 😊
Hi Anne!!!
I really enjoy your videos and appreciate the time they take! Thanks Chris. Enjoy the upcoming holidays :)

Hi Jackie thank you. Also, that's a great idea for a video. I bet someone has done it but I think it would be fun one of these days!
Bureaucracies gonna red tape.
Hi Chris, I can't wait to see this year's inkvents. And this year there will be 2!!!
Hi Sharon -- I know 2 in one year ... I'm already thinking and considering doing one in December the other in January. :)
I’m doing Inkvent and Colorvent, too! I have already sworn off any ink purchases for the first half of 2025!
Hi @edcroy lol those little ink bottles hold quite a lot of ink ... even the samples I'm enjoying will be challenging to use up I'm sure!

First time getting the diamine invent because I really don’t have many inks at all, beginner here! Now I feel like I need to prepare somehow 😅
Oooh cool I hope you enjoy the Inkvent!
@ Thank you! It has been so fun to swatch and play daily 🤩
Hi Chris what is a shell case? This is another great video.

Chris, really enjoyed this video! Looking forward to your December ink reviews; they will be interesting! Always appreciate your efforts.
Hi Mike!!!! Thank you!
Where do I get graffillo paper? I’ve never heard of it.
I have seen it on Jet Pens. The paper I have was sent to me so I have yet to purchase it.
I’ll be looking forward to see the Inkvent video. Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi @lju5001 :)
I'm looking forward to the ink vent videos!
Hi @courtney9212
