In this video, I will teach you how to create your very own website that allows people to mint your NFTs!
The reason you might need a website like this is because minting NFTs is really expensive. It’s much cheaper on the Solana network, which is what we’ll be dealing with in this video, but even then if you’re minting a collection of anything more than 1000 NFTs, it’s gonna cost you a lot.
So with this website we’re gonna create today, you won’t have to pay any minting fees, because your customers will be paying them for you.

As a dev who's getting into NFTs, this video was a good jumping off point, thank you! Just a small note though, at the end when you said you could edit the index.html file to change the website, that's not entirely the case. The website is using React, which is a framework for creating sites. The index.html file is a placeholder, then the rest of the site is injected and mounted later. The files you want to edit to change the appearance of the site will be in the src folder. Hope that helps someone!

Tip for next video: Put the versions of all things your using such as solana, node, yarn etc. Keeps everything exact as using different versions seems to cause issues.

Correct me if I am wrong. Aren't you supposed to call calling yarn install before yarn build? (in js folder of metaplex) I think that step is backward?

@@GodfreyOBenjamin if it still doesn't work if you tried yarn install then yarn build, then it will be the issue due to the powershell security policy, to fix it, run Powershell as administrator and run the following
PS C:\> Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned
Enter Y, and try the yarn install and yarn build again, it should be working now
After I mint for one Sol, can I change the price later ? Is that possible to edit after ?
Additional hint if Solana doesn't install. Install in command prompt (Left click as admin in windows search bar) . Then close VSC and command prompt and reopen.

I have seen a lot of projects crash on launch due to hosting issues. Also, how would you include the smart contract?
To have a custom domain, you’ll first need to do this entire process on a VPS. Then you just point your custom domain to the IP of the VPS. It’s the same process as a normal website

I did had one issue when I was using 'yarn build' and 'yarn install' on the terminal. The solution was to downgrade the versions of node and npm to the ones you use(node 14.18.0, npm 6.14.15).
Don't know how to downgrade a version using npm? Example: npm install -g node@14.18.0
Hiya, coming across the same issue. Ive just downgraded my versions to the ones you've mentioned but it is still coming out as the term 'yarn' as not being recognised. I know its a shot in the dark but do you know what else it could be?

Hey Reese! Great video. Unfortunately I can't get past the first bit. When I do 'npm install git', it goes through alright, but then when I try 'git clone [url] I get an error that 'git' isn't recognized as a cmdlet, function, or script file. HI Im at 9:30 in the video and am having some trouble, ive managed to get over every other hurdle but this one giving me some issues. When running the ts-node line, I am getting a error, the system starts and says beginning upload for 100 nfts (png+json) pairs however shortly after it says Transaction Simulation Failed: Error processing Instruction 1:custom program error: 0x66, the error code tells me its code 102 and the message is "The program could not deserialize the given instruction" anyone had this or have any suggestions?

@@tomtadeus7032 Yes, I managed to muddle through it yesterday evening, I used the NFT Creator from the last video to make 1000 images and json files however they have a different format to the json in the video here so I deleted all of the files and input x2 manually as he does it in the video (Directly from the format in the metaplex website for the json) and it seemed to work no problem after that, so the JSON Structure seemed to be my issue. Im hoping there is an update to the json/image creation tool so the structure is fixed and the numbering can start from 0 and not 1.
@@brumkid100 yeah... i came to these coclusions too. I tried to upload single json file in the format from metaplex's site and it worked for me too. Unfortunately it's not a decision of problem if we need to upload 10 000 NFT created by Hashlips generator. I was hoping so that I would not have to understand the javascript code, but apparently I had no choice) Good luck to you, friend. Correct. You can log into this wallet using phantom. If you copy all the text inside your keypair json file, you can use it to log in by selecting "log in using private key"

How has so much changed in 2 weeks? I've followed this video 5 times and get different errors at different steps each time. Every time I delete everything and start a new folder and do everything again from scratch. I'm about to uninstall and reinstall everything used in the process.

First of all thank you so much for this series of videos in Solana! I got to the part of making the UI with candy machine but when I execute yarn start the site shows me a lot of errors with " Error: Non-base58 character" on top of it. I have to mention that I didn't change the .env values since Id like to make the website live before I finish my nfts. Is it because of the .env or something else?

i get this error: SyntaxError: Unexpected end of JSON input

Was able to get all process and will like you to do a tutorial on how to add more nft incase you wish to do... it means you don't have yarn installed on your computer
Hey there, it seems he made a mistake in the order. You should 'yarn install' first and then use 'yarn build' after.

Just do yarn build and then take the files from the candy-machine-mint and take them to a upload site like netlify and you can host it online, if you edit the html to your preference it can be a custom page too, do this first in the index.html file and then do the yarn start to test it, and then do a yarn build and grab your updated files from the folder and deploy on something like netlify
Where does the money go to and how much do you get from the sale?
When you create the new wallet you wrote /config and then in the keypair you wrote /.config adding a dot. Its correct? or you have to do it the same?
This must've been a mistake. Your keypair should include the . or it should be whatever comes up when you run the command: "solana config get"
