In this video, I'll walk you through my experience making and selling an NFT collection on OpenSea.
I'll break down how I created the NFT art, how I made an account on OpenSea, how I made the NFT collection, how much money I made from the NFT art collection, whether or not I thought it was worth it, and what tips and suggestions I have for anyone considering creating an NFT collection of their own.
Additionally, I'll walk through how to get set up on OpenSea and explain what gas fees are.

Have you seen the RMRK team`s project, such as KANARIA? There are NFT birds that can have other attached NFTs (for example - clothes, weapons, hats, glasses, etc). And these NFTs can be put on and taken off by a bird! They can also be sold separately!
Cool video! I would also add to design smarter vs spending a ton of hours creating cool stuff. As a designer myself, I was tempted to want to do everything from scratch but assets are the way to go. It's kind of weird that this is turning into people buying community vs buying art. In reality, a community aspect is just a form of marketing that bigger players can take advantage of.

This is why before doing any serious projects or any money-making projects, it's best to do some research first so that you won't make some mistakes. However, contents like this are definitely helpful for us to avoid unnecessary inconveniences when starting our NFT projects.

I've watched a few videos about NFTs and I think this is one of the best. I'm a photographer and many people have asked me, "why don't you list some of your work on an NFT marketplace?" My issue with this is - an NFT marketplace is no different than a regular art marketplace (such as Fine Art America, Society6, etc.) And while there's nothing wrong with this business model, it just means that you need to create a lot of hype in order to get some traction on your artwork. With this in mind, your points about building a community are very important. Also, being a part of the ongoing NFT community is also very helpful.
Am I ready to launch my own collection?? I don't think so. I consider my images are very 'niche' and they typically appeal to people who have visited (or who are originally from) my tiny Caribbean country. Plus, I am not yet active in any NFT community.
So, thanks for the advice in this very transparent video. I will continue to explore NFTs as an option and will keep your tips in mind.

Dominica aka Nature Island?!?! It is so beautiful and lush! I've never been but I have friends from your country. I suppose it is niche but I know for sure they would support your NFT artwork if they knew about it/if you decided to do it. I've noticed how strong and supportive Caribbean communities are in the states -- I would think a Caribbean NFT community would have the potential to do well & have a diehard fanbase!
Yes, NFT marketplace is no different than a regular art marketplace BUT there are so many people interested in NFTs who would not purchase regular art. I just think... don't count it out yet. There are ppl who would be willing to help you build a community BECAUSE you are from this tiny Caribbean country.

Hey guys! I have a question which I can't find the answers even on Google, maybe I used wrong keyword. But after creating a collection, can I add more item after I put my item for sale? For examples, my collection will have a limit of 1000 items, but I only finished 200 items at the moment and I want to list these 200 items for sale, can I add 100 more in the future? Or the entire collection is 'frozen' once I click "Sell"?

I tried to make my own and the hardest part is to get people into your discord and get people caring about your project from the start. If you don't have at least 1k people already in your discord no one will care what your going on about. Learned that the hard way and it was a waste of time to try. Stay up

Just going through the process of launching a collection will make it much easier to launch more collections in the future, since you learn a lot the first time. That's where the value comes in. You get more efficient and the profit to effort/time ratio keeps improving.

I think you may have missed the most important suggestion/tip. You don't have to sell your NFT-s on Ethereum blockchain. Using Polygon the transaction fee can be a fraction of a dollar instead of hundreds of dollars!
I'm going to be making a video in the future comparing Ethereum and Polygon! I've definitely learned a lot since uploading this video :)

The $150 gas fees that you paid, was it a one time fees or did you pay it everytime you minted one nft??

That was a one-time initialization fee!
I only had to pay gas to mint an NFT when I gave an NFT away. For the NFTs that were purchased by other people, I didn't have to pay gas :)
Newb question: So I can make a series of, let’s say artwork, on photoshop or any other editing program. Then upload them to open sea?
Theoretically, yes! But there are some considerations there. "Just art" NFTs tend to perform much worse than "functional NFTs". And for a "just art" NFT, I'd recommend using Polygon instead of Ethereum!

That's why you need to select Polygon instead of Ethereum. This would have resolved the gaz fee issue straightaway. 👍

I'm slightly confused how you get others to mint your NFT for you so that you don't have to pay gas fees. Can you just list your NFT's and wait for someone to buy it which then supplies the minting cost? Thanks :)

This is a great video! But I think it would be good to separate NFTs as a technology from the problems Ethereum have around gas. You can mint in other blockchains too!
You're absolutely right!! I'm planning on doing a Polygon vs Ethereum video at some point - are there any other blockchains you think I should cover?
Not only that but good projects also do different things. Dirty dogs minted on eth but did a “voucher” system during the mint. The voucher cost like 20 bucks in gas and then allowed you to use that voucher to mint anytime you wanted. Very good system.

Good Marketing is always going to be the most difficult part. I’m going to launch a few collections with some a couple friends where the focus is donating profits to charities. But none of us have a large social media platform so Marketing will be the most difficult part for us lol.
People can purchase nft’s as a group or business. Try pitching that idea to nonprofits & charities. If you don’t mind me suggesting

I’m currently planning on coming up with an NFT collection of my own.... still have to think about how I’ll make them functional. I was thinking of making custom items or accessories or just a real life version of the NFTs I put out and mailing those to their respective owners, but I’m not sure if that alone is enough of an incentive to convince people to buy them🤔 And just as a side note, you’re absolutely gorgeous, you have some stunning eyes too!
