That needs proper Race ECU based traction control.... (forgive me I didn't watch every minute of it if this was mentioned). It will blow you away. I've got it in my Rotrex'd K20A "7". Transformed it... no lifting. Not in this machines level, but it is fairly spicey - 400hp/670kg wet. Not only do a) you get the power down, b) you're not closing throttle butterfly when lifting, so boost is maintained while ignition and/or boost is getting controlled [depending on your setup]. Mine's a Link G4X Xtreme, others like LifeRacing/Motec/Haltech etc do it. It's absolutely mad - you'll hear it feathering ignition timing then drop into ignition cut, mines based on my wheelspeed sensor setup doing it around 5-10 times per second. Maximum power delivery. Maximum acceleration... and with adjustable slip tables (mines based on a dial adjuster vs speed vs lateral G's) you don't lose any fun element at all.
1,000bhp atom… and the only helmets in sight are the ones holding on for dear life 😂😂 savage video!

My UK built Atom 2 has 525HP and it's a lethal machine. It will wheel spin at 100MPH in slightly damp conditions. It was featured on the US Top Gear show and held the lap record for that show until they quit that segment. Also was the Atom in most US magazines and roat tests in 2007 when it had 350HP. After many years of running it (40K miles) there's just no way I'd have 1000HP kicking in like a mule. Be careful and I'll say a prayer for you ;)

The standard V8 atoms 0-60 was around 2.3seconds imagine if this thing hooks cleanly sub 2 seconds I think 🤷🏻♀️ I haven't been in one but I've been in a tuned Aventador the 0-60 was around 2.5seconds that was fast and felt fast and I've been in a catheram r500 and that felt faster than the aventador i can only imagine how an atom v8 or this must feel 🤩
@morgan21.12 Yeah, the raw feeling is an experience in itself also sitting on the floor compared to up high.
My cousin used to build hill climbing space frame imps around 1994 ish he built one with 225 ish bhp from a 1.8 turbo lump in a space frame with a plastic shell , and I'm guessing that was 500kg under 650 with fluids and passager. I drove that, and it was crazy , the sound, stones hitting the undertray, and the speed .
But the said car in the video was that experience straight out of the box just n\a for me . I couldn't own one thou, the zero windscreen would tiresome fast .
Amazing bit of kit , never been in lambo myself , drove a porsche for a while but only a 927 , 928s4 and later a Carrera 4s 2003 996 , Great cars. But that v10 from a lambo. I really want to explore that engine :)

They are OK for Hill climb, drift but saying that at olivers mount in Scarborough hill climb they woukd turn up a few time ,break down after a few Practice runs and worse spill fuilds mostly oil on the track .

1.5 lt turbo engines circa 1986 revved to 19/20,000 rpm so a totally different sound. More of a SCREAM.
1700BHP per ton is absolutely ludicrous. For people who don't know how much that is, that's the equivalent to a 2022 BMW M5 with 3500bhp...

I love it watched you guys for the first time fantastic I laughed great fun I had a friend named Charlie we worked at crower racing he built back in the day when there were honda 3 wheelers 110cc he put a honda 550 4 cylinder w/ twin turbo's paddle tires wheelie ski's to keep it from flipping over it was insane sand dune racing up competition hill in Glamis I rode it once for about 100 yards when the boost kicked in it would pull your hands off the handle bars

The thought came into our head after the ride
I skelped a big Bee at about 150-160 on my R1 with the visor open about an inch. It nearly had me off mate its likely been sped up by the bikes visor angle too as i just heard a pinging noise before it hit. A lot lot soarer than a paintball from point blank, had red eye for 3weeks and a peach of a golf ball sized bruse. Was a fast nippy pain and my face stopped working that day 😂

The standard atom with half the powers 0-60 is something ridiculous like 2.3 seconds imagine this 0-60 again if it hooks cleanly
@@morgan21.12with that power it’s impossible to do a clean 0-60, you’re not going to be faster than with 1/2 the power. at this power level, 60-120 gets interesting or even 120-180😅

What a amazing piece of kit. I also agree the K20 is the best 4 banger ever made. That steering wheel looks so uncomfy. I'm impressed how you and Stu are 6ft 4 and fit so well in it.

YBT as good. Compared to bike 4 pots its a wood burner but i expect we are talking strictly car engines? I mean the engineering in bike engines is so far ahead of production cars its scary.

The plastic 'tooth screens' on the dashboard are actually max headroom markers if the car turns over. If your head is higher than those plastic screens you're using your head as a brake. Draw a line from the roll cage to the front of the car and you'll see what I mean..

That atom looks mad powerful, I had a passenger trip out in a nonturbo k20 4pot engineered version and that was stupidly fast... This looks the next level of stupidly fast... Tyre slip is huge battle when your vehicle has very lightweight footprint..... Well done on the review it's a one off angry tarmac rocket ..... Hopefully it doesn't destroy your internal organs as you are strapping your self to a rocket powered tea tray 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Now you can understand big sports bike riders. I haven't ridden for over 35 years now, and still miss the huge adrenaline rush from caning my FJ1200. Bikes have moved on a long way since; I found 500bhp per ton to be my limit. The current Kawasaki offering has double that ratio. On a bike like that, your screaming is a personal, private event, shared with no-one else.
Cant go wrong with 2 hayabusa engines stuck together ! If thats even still whats in that thing . Sounds incredible ❤

My experience driving an Atom was how shocked I was when I reached a bend in about half the time my brain expected it to.
Would have been disingenuous not to use all the expletives whilst driving that thing. Great video guys.

I’ve been lucky enough to drive an Atom, think it had a supercharged Honda 2.2 VTEC in it. The engine howled like a banshee behind my head, drove beautifully with such effortless power through the gears. I’ve never driven anything like it before or since. 1000HP? Insane, brave snd so are you for going in it 😂

I live around this area. It's one thing seeing a fast car on a road, it's another thing seeing this monstrosity on roads that you recognise because you get a perfect sense of how fast it actually is... These roads are super fun for me in a 300hp Celica GT4. This Atom though... I'm lost for words
