I just started out in stop motion and I try to refrain from making a minifigure fly or throwing an object because I don't have access to editing right now, this helped a ton!! thanks!
Huh. This was interesting. I'm pretty fast with masking, but I can see why it might be nice to do this option. You make it look amazing. I can't see the stick at all. Thumbs up! Frutz wuz here.
Frutz LovesLegos thank you very much!!! I’d like to GET faster with masking lol. There are instances where masking is a better technique to use, but yes you’re right - what I show is a fast way of getting it done.
Wow. This is really clever. Wonder why I haven’t thought of that. I thought he was going to place something to hold the dynamite on the floor and erase the object later.
Thank you very much! I usually try to do everything in camera if possible. Masking is incredibly useful and you can do just about anything with it, but there’s something cool about pulling it off without that. Plus it’s a time saver 😂👍
This method is exactly what I'm thinking I'll do for my next project. I've put blue tacks and aluminium wire into my wishlist for some time now. I'm glad to see that the method can really works. Thank you for the video.
Wow really clever. I like stop motion, but I didn’t know how to do this. Then one day this video came into my recommended and I watched it. You, sir are a genius!
Love this advice! I've been considering doing stop motion with my Legos and have been looking for tricks that don't need editing all the time. I am definitely subscribing to check out more tips!
Cant believe its been about 1 year since I first watched your videos. I am making a Stopmotion video right now but I also kind of avoided throwing something because I dont have the fancy technology to make something look like its flying. Now I can just get sticky tack and use that for my videos THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH
VERY good video sir. By the way, you can do this easier with that great set you built: tip it onto its back and shoot down from above (the back wall being the bottom of the set) so that your stick with the thrown object can stand straight up vertically. That will let gravity work for you, and you might be able to light from above to eliminate that stick shadow:)
Super cool, thank you! We use iMovie, which I doesn't allow masking, so this is very helpful. Looking forward to testing it in one of our forthcoming movies. Have subscribed!
Another trick we used to use was a sheet of glass or acrylic. You can stick stuff onto it without the black stick, but take care, as the tacky putty marks must be cleaned off each frame. The result is like no other though.
I've never died, I've never tried, but one thing I have done is subscribed.
Awesome!!!
I have died tho lol
That was super cool 👍👍👍
lord knows I've tried

Yes! That's a great technique as well! I don't have a tripod that can do that shot, though. What tripod are you using? I could use an upgrade!
