- What do you see when you imagine a tank? Something with a huge gun, sturdy armour and big tracks, right? And it IS usually tracks - after all, thanks to them, tanks can easily traverse difficult terrain and climb obstacles. But in the second half of the XXth century an interesting alternative emerged, namely wheeled armoured vehicles. Compared to their tracked brethren, wheeled tanks are considerably faster AND cheaper. Vehicles of this class were developed in South Africa, Germany, China and many other countries… but the most well-known and, arguably, the most successful design of this type is the Italian Centauro, made by Iveco-FIAT and OTO Melarа.

They did that so players cant exploit climbing outside map and camp there, with overview over the entire map. Not that I agree with it, but understand. And these campers were pretty fookin annoying too.
Fun fact: the Italians have already finished developing the Centauro 2, equipped with a 120mm cannon alongbwith several other improvements.

In theory the huge mass of Mause could just slide some big chunk of ground below him in some situations but this is not how it works in this game.
Traction of the tanks were reduced to block all the players that were using it to climb hills and use some positions for extra(not planedby designers) advantage... personaly i hate when my tank is sliding down for no good reason and its often comical how bad the new physic in this game is in this topic.

@@MS07B3-G0UF With 3k kills between it, the Sidam, and T106, I know. I just miss the Italian 8.0 lineup. It was all Italy had. Now we're one of two without an 11.0, we have no rank 7 air with a 10.3 f104 for top tier, our hyper pen round got passed by the US, Rus, and Ger just to have it along with all others but Ger knocked down. ONE strong lineup is all I want, because Italy has just been getting gutted left and right for 3 patches now. The Centauro at 8.0 was literally the reason to play Italy for most Italy mains, now it got moved up making the ROMOR absolutely useless, breaking its lineups even farther apart and making it an even harder nation to play.

LOVEEEE the Centauro 120, it's great even in it's current BR, the new shell makes it even better, far easier to penetrate most MBTs at the UFP and sometimes even in the cheeks, great speed makes it insanely good at going to spots. Only problem i have with it would be traction but that's about it
What changed? It’s flat pen Is for sure nerfed. They make the angle pen better? Or am I missing something? Because the numbers look lower

Add new armor packages to the Ariete please and also more CAS planes between the SM91s and Vampires, such as the Thunderbolt which was used by the Cobelligerant Italy. In fact, you could and should add more planes from the cobelligerant Italy. This would round the tech tree and make us able to create complete tiers.
The thing is, there are no other armor packages for the ariete irl at the moment
@@Dan86130 they just need to make the WAR accurate.. irl it was designed to improve KE protection, instead even in this upcoming patch they reduced the KE multiplier to be even less than the Kontakt 1, which is totally inaccurate
WHY CASSSS,hell no,tank are terrorized enough by those idiots with CAS,gaijin should do one of these things:
1.Remove CAS planes or rockets from them
2.MAKE a new gamemode where only tanks can enter,this game is too retarded at tanks,you spawn,go 200m,get killed by CAS and did nothing in that match

Yugoslavia was not a member of the Warsaw pact and tito was strictly hateful towards soviet supremacy to the point where the soviet union sent multiple agents trained to murder tito, to estabilish a pro soviet regime over the country.
Since the Panavia Tornado will probably never happen, can we get the AMX International after the g91? Would give Italy some love and encourage people to play it. Can also include the Brazilian variant as a premium.

Outstanding video. Italy was my first nation and the centauro was always my goal. Hard to decide between the B1 or the MGS but either way, they are fantastic vehicles. Any chance we'll get more centauro variants in future updates?
The Centauro HVMS with the was leaked a few weeks ago. Shoots the same 60mm rounds as the AUBL HVG. Just a name in a list but other vehicles from that list have been teased for the next update already.

anyway, they are very good but: 1) you'll be always in uptier 2) russians will penetrate even if they shouldn't 3) p40 is actually p-26/40 and it'll be or op or useless it depends on the match (not opponents, literally one time it's god and one time is the stereotype) 4) 90/53 m41m was difened like this: "a locked enemy was already considered destroyed" 5) do planes

Now can you please remove the nerf on the Ariete’s armor? You gave the WAR package less KE protection than the Kontact 1 ERA.. the War was LITERALLY designed to enhance KE protection, it was already nerfed from the start and now even more

My favorite Centauro is the VRC-105 CENTAURO RCV (From the Spanish army)
The repair cost for the Centauro 1 105 is just way too high to actually have fun with it. First you give it the Br increase to 8.7, now the repair cost is so high that playing it at that Br doesn't make sense. The Romor is better because of its repair costs.

At the moment the only new tank the italians could get in War Thunder would be the Centauro II, looking forward to that
There is the Leonardo's M60A3 Upgrades and modernized, fitted with the L45 cannon same as the centauro B2.
Really sad they moved the B1 to 8.7, it makes the Romor feel even more painful at 9.0. Also it was really rewarding to finally get to the Centauro because you finally felt like you got to something meaningful in the tech tree. That being said, I think the only other nation with thermals at 8.0 is Sweden so I’m sure everyone who fought against the centauro was super upset about it. ( litterally the reason I switched to Italy was after watching my team get absolutely wrecked by one). Honestly I think they should give the B1 dm33, move it to 9.0, folder the Romor, and add the Centauro 2 at top tier. But who knows what gaijin will do.
While I’m on my soap box, can we please move the SIDAM Mistral to tier 6 at ~9.0? The lack of a search radar and general inability to fight tanks makes it laughable in comparison to similarly tiered SPAAs. I’m pretty sure It doesn’t even have night vision and Ka-50 missiles can out range yours, so the 10.0 Br is ridiculous.
The first Bradley has thermals and I think its still 8.0. Loved destroying tiger 2s with the 105
The Italian 8.0 lineup was probably one of the strongest lineups in the entire game. The Centauro, Sidam, R3, with OF40 and M113 as backup.

Italy has been completely gutted by Gaijin for whatever reason. We are the only country without a rank 7 air, with a 10.3 F104 as our top tier plane. They took away the premium international. Neither the Oto or Mystral can deal with helicopters. We don't even have 11.0 ground forces vehicle anymore. The SPAA gap between 4.7 and 8.3 is horrendous. Our M113 doesn't get Tow 2Bs but China's does. Can confirm the Mystral doesn't have NVGs. The Sidam also only gets 50 APDS rounds in that belt. Hell, even the CL3143 nerf and power creep. The only reason top tier Italy had a purpose because we had the highest penning round in the game at 621mm at 10m. Then every other country got one with 50mm plus pen over ours. Now because the 2PL has ruined top tier Germany, everyone got knocked down sub 600 except Germany.
Legit, being an Italy main and it being my first tree with 3k kills between the B1, R3106, and base Sidam, it is nearly physically painful to see the tree so absolutely gutted for near to no apparent reason.

@@yowaddup5649 I thought the IKV 91 did, but I am mistaken, I do think it is one of the earliest tanks with a laser range finder though at 7.0 which might be why I got confused
@@SadisNic I find helies are the only thing my Oto handles with consistency, but only under the conditions that 1) you spawned the Oto before the heli spawned. & 2) they are focused on something else so your rounds actually have time to travel to them. If some other tank you are driving gets sniped by a ka-50 though, you are pretty much hosed because they will be firing missiles on your Oto as soon as you spawn in. That being said, any other AA will take the kill out from under you pretty much every time.
If you take the soap off the tracks they might climb over obstacles.

I have a question about the German f4 the tech tree one. Y does it have the slots for the aim7 but it doesn't have any in the mods?
The f4f for Germany had the capability removed for the cost I believe. It later was upgraded substantially. Just look on wikipedia or something about f4 varients. You'll see it
Because the Germans didn’t use AIM-7’s when they first got their phantoms, they were later upgraded to take AIM-120’s but the game isn’t ready for that.

It would be interesting on a side, but there would be huge era gaps, it would be even worst than China in this, Romania as a lot in common with Italy, when it comes to tank and planes, it would be nice to put them in the italian tech tree, cuz Romania as a lot of interesting stuff! Not as premiums btw.

Centauro 1 was very good and effective but they raised its br to 8.7 and now its useless up there so you should just skip it to get the Romor which is 9.0 its the same just era armor thats it.

The best wheel vehicle is the French Vextra.

@@lucienaras2165 It is not me who says it, it is the European Armored Fighting Vehicle Cynopsion which in 1996 evaluated the armored vehicles Fuchs, Centauro, Pirhana and the French VEXTRA. And the Vextra performed significantly better than any other armored vehicle.

hey war thunder, as an non premium user, playing italian tank tech tree, i found myself stuck at tier 4. i love playing italians, but simply they drain my money. as i dont have any premium vehicle or premium to grind silver lions with, i struggle. i think aubl feels kinda meh and pershing is just 10k waste of silver lions, it doesnt even perform as well and i don't really want to grind tier 5 vehicles with tier 3, my friend who has premium plays AUBL and he gets profit every game, just because solo zone capture gives him 3x his repair cost and if i want to profit from repair cost i have to capture zone and get minimum additional kill or few assists...

use the 3.3 tank destroyer, it has armor and low tier is best tier. also it has armor which makes only high pen medium/heavy tanks/tank destroyers pen you frontally. 100mm ftw
