Giving it a shot. I knew the electrical was going to be an issue but was hoping I'd be able to at least turn it over. Carburetors I at least have some knowledge about--electrical is just a lot of trial and error for me. I'll get it eventually. I'm encouraged by the state of the camshafts.
If you haven't, maybe check overall condition of the fuse box, could easily be corroded and cause a short or poor connection. You can get a cheap used one on ebay to swap out easily rather than over analyzing an old corroded one. Good video and best of luck with this one.
Thanks man--I may just do that. I'm going to go through the obvious things first to try to find if there's a short. It's very possible that the inside of the throttle side controls that there's corrosion or something causing the problem. I need to lubricate the cables anyway. The starter I should be able to pull off and check as well. Unfortunately just filled it with oil and a new filter--and the filter has to come off in order to do that. Also printed out some instructions on how to test the starter solenoid. There's just a ton of things it could be. Gotta research. Good idea on the fuse panel. Wish it was the same as the VF since I have spares of that, hah. Thanks for the wishes of good luck. I'll get 'er running eventually.
Yea unfortunately given my unfamiliarity with this one and the modified electrical... going to be a lot of studying the wiring diagram. Also a lot of replacing, rewrapping, and resoldering conections.
I've had that instant fry of fuses/wires and if I remember correctly, it was a bad voltage regulator so.... good luck!
I do have a spare regulator/rectifier that I bought for the VF that can probably work.
Nice to see you moving forward on the old girl

Nice going Matt. At least the electrical is not an intermittent.

If you lived next door I’d say I would do the wiring for you while you change my fork springs!
@@merfmoto6378 Oh I'd make that trade so quick!
back at it lmao I hope to get a few sick classics like you
Get a better one than this one, lol.
You're already well onto your way to having a classic.
