    How to anchor gates used as stalls in a garage? Temp preferred. Something that can be taken out easily for summer with no ‘trip’ hazards when taken out?

    flooring like rubber floor mat? some milking parlors have those and they're so comfortable the cows don't want to exit the parlor. maybe you could get sawdust for free from a local cabinet factory.

    Stalls look really nice! Just curious why they don't open out on to run ins on the backside of the barn?

      some boxstalls don't. its just a personal reference, and how they first built this building!

    Hey Reef I just received 6 of the stalls from Ramm. Also waiting on my softstalls to show up. I chose these based off your recommendation and your video. Thanks for such a thorough install video! What type of wood did u use and did u treat it with anything? It doesn’t look like pressure treated.

    • @RMSpeltzFarm
      @RMSpeltzFarm  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, We use a tongue and groove not treated in case the horses ever did try to crib it, they really cant due to the metal on them but not worth the risk, we ordered our through local lumber yard

    • @rlharmon1972
      @rlharmon1972 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ReefDVMs did u put anything on the wood to protect it?

    • @RMSpeltzFarm
      @RMSpeltzFarm  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      we didnt since we didnt want the horse exposed to chems=)

    Reef, I was wondering what kind of tongue and groove wood you use for your box stalls? Where you got the tongue and groove wood at? N what was the pricing of it per 12' by 12' box stall? thanks so much!

    • @RMSpeltzFarm
      @RMSpeltzFarm  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      we bought it through menards, on 11% off sale. I dont recall just a single stall price since we built four I think we spend about 2k

    Do you have any problems or concerns with your Ramm Horse stalls since installation?
    A bit more pricey than some of the others, however they look like they are well constructed.
    I need to add 4 stalls to my current barn, for my personal horses..

      Ours have been great, they work very well on concrete floors and we have draft in one even, sure they are not massive stalls but they are nice and assembled well for us

      Jennifer,
      Who did you end up getting stalls from? I’m looking to build a pole barn and put 4 stalls in it also. Did you do a stall mat also, who did you use? I’ve heard bad reviews from soft stall like shown in this video.

    Why didn't you insulate the main walls of the barn ??

    • @RMSpeltzFarm
      @RMSpeltzFarm  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The cost to floor to ceiling to insulate and then ventilate the barn via retained moisture from the animals and then finish the walls was way more then we wanted to do, it added upkeep to the barn for us, we dont like moisture for our animals in winter and we didnt want to have to pay to cover the insulation which is required out here with most spray in and or bag insulation methods to be code

    • @pjk1714
      @pjk1714 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Here you can pay for double panel with insulation as its being raised. We had an R19 product that had no backing being sandwiched between the exterior and interior walls.
      It ran about $4200 for 6500 square ft.
      With our climate, it helps keep cooler in summer and jacket cold in winter.
