  • We used some poplar lumber we had laying around to build some awesome sliding horse stall doors from scratch.

    I can totally relate to having real conversations with the animals. Totally.

    I just shook my head` in dissbelief on how you first tried to install those metal tubes into the door frame.

    Those stall doors are gorgeous. Just FYI though, poplar is the favorite wood for horses to chew.

    Looks beautiful! Would you be willing to share the rundown on dimensions and/or plans?

      I typically scratch some dimensions on paper and start building. I’d be more then happy to take any measurements you’d like or send pictures. If you are interested, email me at jsflc78@gmail.com

    What did you use for the frame with the tubes? 2x4? What size did you use for the tubes?

    Leg out the cart, no hand chopping, and a 3-wheeler.... you are a danger to the public 😂

    Man Code - Yep. I used t do that, no more, was doing that at the FFL going across a field, a hidden piece of the metal hit my foot and drug me out of the cart...Be Careful! We are older now....

    Can you tell me if that was 1x6 or 1x4 material that you used to make your door frame and slats with?

    • @CairnCreek
      @CairnCreek  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1x6 material

    • @lynnpurcell4938
      @lynnpurcell4938 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CairnCreek When you did the back side did you run 1X6 down both sides and across the top and then use a 1x3 on the bottom to support the slats? Also, did you gram the opening in 1x2. Sorry for all the questions. Thanks for the help. My first wood working project from scratch. 😁

      If it knows what a wire shocking fence is than you just have to put knobs on top of boards and string wire. Wire doesn’t need to be shocking... if it’s not used to shocking wire than put up same way and hook up to a shocker.. after it’s zapped a bit you can remove shocker. Let the wire up.....we had a wire shocking fence about 45 yrs ago. A friend gave me a cribbed horse,,skin and bones. They were going to euthanize him. I said no,,can I take him. He was in a wood fence. When I got him he ran through the electric fence 1 time. That’s all It took.. ( I even had thin rags cut hanging from wire for him to see)..problem was in his stall than. So we just pit knobs on top with wire all around.even on entry door..it wasn’t hooked to shocker, but-he thought-it was..LOL..He gained weight and was the most beautiful, muscular Palomino..I loved riding him..good Luck..
