Fun fact: Mendel Palace was developed by Game Freak. YES, the same company who made Pokemon, though this was their very first game way before Pokemon. It's also interesting to know that it was developed by just 6 people, 3 of which were Game Freak veterans Satoshi Tajiri, Ken Sugimori, Junichi Masuda, and 3 others; and they all made it in Tajiri's apartment. So, in a way, Game Freak was kind of like the first indie developer.

While I can't say anything about tier placements, I did play Adventure Island 2 quite a bit when I was like, 5. I loved that one! It was one of the first video games I came close to beating. I felt like it was a huge achievement! "It is so easy!" ...So much for 5 year old me's achievements, lol
As a kid, that game would have vexed me! Add an adult though, I was honestly shocked at how straightforward it was. Most NES games maintain their difficulty, this one is the exception to the rule!
Well that is a company I had never heard of or played any of before. Good reviews. I will take a look for Felix the cat since it scored so high and I love classic cartoons.

Even though I can get pass level 8.3 (when I get there...) totally addictive, great music, and even though the stages can be considere "repetitive", each time you go to ice, cavern, stone or forest, the enemies, platforms and else are different, so ir is a complete different experience. I play each time I m willing yo spend hours trying yo pass World 7 ir 8.

Apparently Faxanadu was developed by Hudson Soft as well. That's a peach of a game.

I remember finally beating Milon's Secret Castle not legit because seriously screw that game and the ending wasn't worth the headache.
I respect the ever living hell out of you for sitting through Milon's enough to beat it, because 100% screw that game.

I would say playing it today? No. It's pretty slow and kind of clunky. It did not age well from my memory of the title.
