Bart's Nightmare is one of the best Simpson's games. You need to jump on the piece of paper and then it will take you to the level which are all creative and fun. I'd give it another try!
I first played Simpson Arcade as a little kid in the 90s at Circus Circus in Las Vegas. Funny enough I took my kids last summer to Circus Circus and they still had the Simpsons Arcade in the arcade section where they do live performances.
In Bart's Nightmare you have to jump and land on the pages blowing around the street. Virtual Bart is a random game order. I think if you give those 2 another go they will raise in your rankings. Mario Golf Super Rush featuring Itchy and Scratchy! Simpson arcade had to be an S tier.
Awesome video. It's crazy to think how much the franchise has evolved ... Granted I'm not the most knowledgeable but it went from being Bart's show when I was a kid/teenager to Homers show as I got older ... So always relatable
You need to go back to Barts nightmare. Ya, it’s a little confusing at first on what needs to be done. But once you get a grip on it, freaking awesome game. All the mini games to collect the pages are a blast. I’m actually shocked it’s not at least a B here. Love this game
Bro! This video is getting a like, fave and an S+ for an excellent review for best and worst Simpsons games, I especially loved that The Simpsons Arcade Game got an S+ overall out of all of them since it's my favorite too. I'll admit while it wasn't the greatest Simpsons game ever or even that interesting, I did have fun playing Bart Simpson's Escape From Camp Deadly on my GBA Sp when one of my cousins from out of town let me have it. Bart vs. The Space Mutants was also quite fun to try since I never owned a Nes as a kid or even owned a copy of the game, but I enjoyed playing it on a emulator though. Anyway great review dude!
I know am I am a bit of a weirdo in that I never got into the Simpsons. I have seen maybe a dozen episodes so the only game that I have played is the Simpsons Arcade Game. I love it. Growing up I would end up in arcades or Chuck E Cheeses around the state and I could guarantee that one of three beat em ups would be there. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Captain America and the Avengers, or Simpsons. It never mattered to me which of the three were there because I loved each of them. Very frustrating that there isn't a home port of this game I could pick up.
Escape From Camp Deadly may objectively be a bad game, but it holds a special place in my heart. The year I got it for Christmas my parents told me they'd actually hidden it with the Christmas gifts the year prior and forgotten to give it to me, so I was getting it a year late. I have fond memories of playing it for hours and hours, because at the time it was such an amazing game to me. But you're 100% wrong about Bart vs. the Space Mutants! That game was and still is amazing.
I accept being wrong on Space Mutants - it's 100% just an opinion piece. And I love that story about Camp Deadly - a perfect memory! Thank you for sharing it with me. :)
Awesome idea for an episode! Bart vs The World is one I spent a good amount of time playing in my childhood, and enjoyed (despite how hard it is lol). Simpsons Bowling is great! I’ve played it a ton on my Arcade1up cabinet, and now my daughter is loving that game too! Simpsons Road Rage on GBA is quite solid, I agree. The GameCube version is better for obvious reasons, but for a handheld, it was good! Simpsons Skateboarding was one I actually thought was near unplayable 😂. I wanted to like this one so much, but the trick and combo system was stiff and unresponsive from what I played. I may need to pick it up again and try one more time lol. The Simpsons Game on PS3/360/Wii is a game I loved, and felt did the license so well…but agree the camera was a bit off. As for Road Rage and Hit & Run…I REALLY need to review these on the channel in the near future lol. Awesome video again man!
I love Barts Nightmare. I think you should give it another chance. It's not mind blowing, but some of the levels are good. When you see a peice of paper on the streets, jump on them.

Nightmare I'm giving another go this weekend - folks have been really helpful on that one since the game is very obtuse on what you actually need to do. I'm planning on a follow-up short to re-rank it thanks to folks helping me out. :) Space Mutants, though - that one's hard for me to go back to because the controls are so rough. I've disliked it since I was a kid, but I'll give it another go as well.

It's not as good as it used to be, but it's not as bad as some people keep saying, at least that's what I think.
Not as obvious as all that - because by that logic mice itch? I still remember a ton about the show - and we watch it fairly regularly - I'm just in my mid-40's now and things like a cartoon within a cartoon's character names didn't stay in my rolodex. :P I can still pick out most of the 'human' characters and remember their names, but parsing which is Itchy and which is Scratchy just aren't kept in the normal mental rotation.
@@SquarePegs Well yeah, mice itch. Haven't you ever had one as a pet? They are adorable little creatures, and if you don't want a lot of responsibility they're a good pet with a relatively short lifespan. If you've got any young children, they make a good first pet.
Overall its so disappointing that one of the most beloved series of all time has received such mediocre games, I know there's some decent ones but its such a ripe environment for games and the majority of developers somehow failed.
Simpsons arcade is literally one of the worst, most simplistic button mashers ever made. Zero depth to the combat whatsoever. As a game that can survive only on its style, I am stunned it gets the highest possible rank here. Seriously. C maximum for me. It's a terrible beat em up, yes, even for that simple genre, it's poor. If it didn't look like that and have all the humour, I'd give it a D-.
I just wanted to say, nah, you didn't have a bad impression of Virtual Bart because of that baby level, the game is not good, lol. It's like a lot of the other Simpsons games from that era, in that it looks good but controls awfully.
Sure did. I played it and enjoyed it. It's not perfect, it's silly, it's a lark, but I had fun. I have no regrets on that ranking. Not everything needs to be a masterpiece for it to have a high ranking, as witnessed by people raking me over the coals for not worshipping Bart v Space Mutants as some kind of paragon of game design. End of the day, it wasn't a chore to play, unlike other games on the list (Camp Deadly, Wrestling, Treehouse of Horror). And since I was ranking it against the other games on this list, I stand by it.
bad video. You actually need to play the video games before ranking them... A 2-5 minutes try is not enough to understand the gameplay. In the result, your ranking is only a lixed bag of popular opinions...
@@kukuro9164 I didn't realize you had spy cameras in my home to know my play habits. I record the first levels or first five to ten minutes of footage of a game so as to not present spoilers in my videos. I freely admit a few of these I gave up on quickly because I couldn't figure them out (the SNES ones), but a games control scheme shouldn't be so esoteric as to require a Rosetta Stone to decipher.
What up J
DOH!
Needs more Poochy
100% this. Yes.
It's sad that the nice graphics of Barts Nightmare are wasted on such trash gameplay.
Dude A ranked The Simpsons Skateboarding 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
I would suggest you try and play the whole game. I'm guessing this was based on playing it for all of 20 minutes.
The vast majority I've spent several hours with, and many I've played through to completion.
@@SquarePegs Avoiding spoilers is a bad move for me. Feel free to retry some of the games another day
