The judge that trialed Rory in season 6 was a straight up QUEEN. I was so happy to see Rory finally being put in place and not protected again by her spoiling grandparents. May all judges be a bit more like her and we’ll have less spoiled rich kids to deal with
That was probably the one time in the series where Rory ever faced any real consequences for her actions. Otherwise, everyone on the show always treated Rory like she could do no wrong.
I wish Logan could have had the same judge and more happen with him.

Only time rory faced real consequences. Other then when everyone in town hated her for dean cheating with rory on Lindsay.
I love how that situation with Jess in the party was addressed. People hardly ever mention that, and that was straight up wrong. He should never have done that. To me, that moment was the single most awful thing he did throughout the show. Still, I'm glad to see his character development in the later seasons.
Yeah. I love jess, but he was a total jerk during that scene and most of the season.
Team jess, he's awesome, that specific episode was wrong but dean shouldn't have gotten involved, Rory shouldn't have gotten dean involved, no one should have gotten the ex boyfriend involved, I do however understand that jess was being an unreasonable jerk in the 70% of the episode
tbh i think jess is in the wrong but i also think he was just in the moment. plus rory kinda gave the impression she wanted to do that too and he stopped after rory said to stop. he was probably embarrassed then after since it all happened so fast then when RORY* stormed out not jess he came straight after her and said she didn’t do anything. while i understand jess shouldn’t have done that i think people overreact from the situation

Can we talk about how lane didn't get the ending she deserved? She was thrown an absolute curveball with her pregnancy, and it was very out of character. I wished we would've gotten to see her pursue her dreams for a longer time, or just her married life. She deserved a happier ending that was more fitting for her character. I wished they showed something that was more Lane, full of spunk and life. Her ending was just there to tie up loose ends, and she deserved better.
Luke and Anna’s custody battle was so real! There are plenty of mothers out there that use their children as pawns to get their way and it’s sad and disgusting

As much as this show did tackle serious issues, it’s very much a feel-good show. My mom and I watched it together and we LOVED it. ❤️❤️❤️

I'm still shocked that Emily and Richard SUPPORTED Rory through the whole drop out thing. Like, what?!
Anna Nardini was a terrible person. She kept her child away from her father for no good reason, and wasn't even at all sorry about it. Like, we'd all kill to have Luke as our dad,band she thought "nah". She just wanted April to herself. Toxic.

Nah, I wouldn't say toxic. I would keep my child's existence away from a man who has no problem hiding his disdain for children. Luke may have been nice to Rory (Rory apparently never acted like other kids), but its obvious he doesn't like children. The only reason he sponsored that girl's' soccer team was because Lorelai pushed him to do it. It was pretty messed up that Anna wanted to take April at the end though.
I don’t think she was a bad person. She made a bad choice/mistake.
And also to say that Luke was never a kids type so that’s why she kept her from him ??
@@elviramontanna7449 I mean, even Lorelai had her hesitations about having kids with Luke. She wasn't too keen on the idea of having kids with him when she had that pregnancy scare in season 5. So what does that say about Luke? Even the woman he loves is scared about the idea of having children with him. To be fair to Luke, Anna didn't give him have a fair chance. The entire town was surprised with Luke when April came into the picture.

I mean it didn’t surprise me at a lot because I was always late we’re going to shoes and when you’re label to go to shoes it kind of shows that just because you’re labeled that way told me you can’t fuck up to him because of her being young and really knew deep down she did wrong she’s couldn’t admit she was wrong especially because I was her first time and when it happened sometimes like you don’t think about it you just Gotta do and people don’t say that enough and that’s what have them re-Indian didn’t think about after they did it because if he knows the info guilty when he was around Lindsay he felt guilty and Rory felt guilty to especially when she called him so I’m kind of happy they did tackle that issue

The show didn’t do her justice. As soon as the actor for Dave Rygalski quit the show her character was ruined. Her dreams were never fulfilled sadly

I hate the season when Rory sleeps with Dean. I could never get past that point, other than an episode here or there, because I absolutely hate cheating storylines.
I hate the revival because Rory has a boyfriend that she constantly forgets and cheats on.

@@sailinrou I feel like that’s the problem with Rory and Lori’s relationship. Instead of being a parent she tries to hard to be a friend. I feel that’s why so many things happen with the two. Friends encourage you and always give support while a parent does these two things, they also should give criticism and hold there child accountable. Lori doesn’t do this so it’s no reason many times during the show when Lori tries to do the parent thing and criticize her daughter’s chooses, Rory is unable to stand it.

Lane’s mother kicking her out for pursuing her own dreams is one of the most realistic storylines in the show to me. My mom was like Mrs. Kim.
I always hated that whenever I watched it…. I felt luke shouldn’t be punished for Anna’s clearly wrong decision. It is HIS daughter that she never told him about.
Honestly there should be law against what Anna did it seems illegal because it’s so awful

@@sab3295 youre gonna get even angrier… the mother of my niece, had a boyfriend for about a year… the court deemed him a “psychological parent” so now, my brother shares custody of his daughter with the mom and some dude that knew my niece when she was first born. Insane, right? The guy refuses to move on with his life. Has no friends, no family, no girlfriend. He works and then hangs out with my niece when he gets her. Talk about crazy.

This is such a good show it actually depicts things that are relevant to not just teens but adults as well which is actually relevant unlike some shows
I like that life didn't turn out "perfect" as Rory thought it would in 'A Year in the Life' coz now she might be able to reflect of the privilege that she's had growing up and might be able to channel that realistically in the book she decides to write.

I agree, as much as I hated to see Rory's character decline, it was very realistic. I mean, Rory was used to getting everything she wanted. Yes, she did put in the work with her studies and all, but she realized her grandparents could bandage any situation. It made sense she would be entitled.

To be honest, I hate ‘A Year in the Life’ so much. It undoes everything the main show did. We’ve already had Rory reflect on privilege, we’ve had Rory in a relationship of cheating and an open relationship, we’ve had Rory in a relationship where she is horrible to her boyfriend because she likes someone else. Same with Lori, we’ve been the struggle with marriage between Luke and Lori before. The only thing I like is Emily’s arc or growth with the death of Richard. Everything else feels like the directors decide to a half job and reuse old arc’s from the main series.

Any time I remember that episode where Richard has a heart attack, I get sad because he did end up going before Emily. I can't imagine how devastating Emily's initial reaction to his death.

I am still upset at the way they left "A Year in the Life." Who is Rory pregnant by? Will Lorelai and Luke have a baby? What else is going to happen??! I want one more episode. Just one more.
As much as I love the show, I think the revival was awful and ruined my experience of it, and maybe it’s good that they left it to our imagination. You know the characters and their motivations so well, you can kinda guess yourself which way it’s gonna go, with your own twist of it. I think it was time for it to end, you don’t want it to go as long as a soap opera.
I'm still on the fence about watching it, I hate most of the shows they bring back and I don't know if this is one worth ruining
Apparently that was the way the show's creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, always intended to end the original series (regardless of how old Rory was at the time). But due to contrast disputes with the network, she wasn't involved in the final season. A lot of fans of the show dislike the last season for that reason, but I have to say I'm really relieved that the original series ended with Rory starting her career after college instead of getting pregnant.
I think its Logan's but Jess will raise the baby like his own. Because if you think about it, Logan is like Christopher and Luke is like Jess so it comes full circle.

one thing a LOT of people fail to notice is that while Jess started out as the troubled bad boy type, his later appearances show how far he's come & how much he's changed for the better....he's a better man now than he was when we first meet him in season 2. Meanwhile Dean, who seemed like the perfect boyfriend, turned out to be extremely possessive and jealous and they type of guy who cheats on his wife; and Logan stayed largely the same throughout his time in the series. By the end of A Year In The Life, Jess is proven to be the best of Rory's boyfriends ( though part of me does wish she'd given Marty a chance... )
Logan most definitely changed throughout the show. He stopped sleeping around with other women and committed to a long term relationship which is not in anyway easy, plus he stayed loyal to Rory throughout the relationship. Also, he became WAYYY more responsible with his future and how he spends his money. If that’s not progress idk what is. And before you bring up him being a bad influence to Rory, I just want to state that Rory was a grown ass woman when she was with Logan and chose to steal that boat, drop out of Yale etc. No hate btw.

I actually think Rory dropping out of Yale was a very good and realistic decision, plenty of people drop out, not many of them return. But Rory did, she returned stronger than ever and even managed to graduate with her classmates.

Emily's grief and Lorelei's hit me harder after my dad died 2 years ago. He was everything to my mom and she struggled to get her footing after his heart attack. And he wasn't a perfect dad so I understood Lorelai's conflict, too. It wasn't perfect. Lots of arguments but we loved him more than all the drama.

I’d like to see a revival of the show but with Rory in the role of Lorelei as she navigates raising her own child as a single mom.
I have never actually watched Gilmore Girls. I’ve thought about watching it I just I’ve never gotten around to it. But the only thing I know about this show is the characters obviously and how everyone hated that Rory dropped out of College because it was so unlike her character. It was so controversial that someone that has never watched this show like me actually knows of that storyline lol. And I knew that was going to be on the list.
It’s such great show and I love it so much.

It bugged me that Rory was referred to as special or gifted, that term spoiled her. She was just smarter than everyone around her.
Losing Richard was unbelievable…I can imagine what real families go through after a lost like that..
To me, an intriguing theme throughout the series was the downright Machiavellian machinations that both families and society go through to get and maintain power. This is probably most pronounced when Richard and Emily manipulate Lorelai and Rory to get what they want, and that moment in the series when Digger's father sues his son and Richard over their new partnership, then Richard and the father join forces to squeeze out Digger. Intriguing stuff.

Lol haha but eventually she became supportive of Lane's dreams about being in the band and said "Kim's don't quit!". I think its an excellent portrayal of Asian mentality but also proof that it can change, it takes time.

Great show I didn't watch when it first aired, but I stumbled on it on the UP network almost 4 years ago and got pleasantly hooked. Great acting, characters, writing and you can be laughing and crying throughout any given episode

i hate anna. a child should never be hidden from one of their parents, unless that parent is a threat to that child’s physical or emotional well being. yes, luke has never shown much interest in children. even a dislike for them. but, would he ever treat april negatively? he may be a hermit and a grump but it was no secret before april even came along that he has a good heart. luke deserved to meet his daughter. period.

I don’t know if it was just me but i feel that Rory just went downhill ever since she left Chilton, she started acting out more and not realising when she makes wrong decisions and then fights about it? What happened to the girl that grounded herself when she forgot to return a library book? The one that always tried to be the best she could be. I understand as she neared the twenties she would start changing but to go as far as to sleep with Dean while he was married and to steal a boat?

I'm the same age as Rory was in the revival, and that really freaks me out sometimes. She has a college education and experience, older than Lorelai was, and in a supportive environment and town. It may be a happy ending.

This is my all-time favorite TV show back when it first aired on WB (yes, I said WB...who remembers that? Lol) and I remember thinking how great of a show it is because there were no other TV shows quite like it that tackled these issues. Now, I'm rewatching the seasons/episodes on Netflix and let me just say that it still holds up NOW as when it did the first time I watched it! Such a great show! #gilmoregirlsfanforlife
I was there from the beginning in the WB days. My grandmother (and best friend of my entire life) watched it together from the start. I can't tell you how many times I heard as a teen... "I need to know where you are at all times, especially when you have my shoes on!" Legit, my grandma and I were that tight, and she wasn't an old fashioned Granny, so we did share clothes and shoes for awhile. She was everything to me, and when she died over the course of a month to unexpected late stage ovarian cancer in 2008 when I was 18, I completely couldn't deal and totally lost my shit. I'm now 32 and still picking up the pieces, but this show is like my lifeline, even now. It's hard to really explain I probably sound like a crazy person, but this show just will always hit different, just as it did from day one. RIP Grandma Moon. 💞💯✌🏻
is it me that the theme of tackled serious issues starts from thr 80`s to the 2000`s it seems like those shows are more than just its cliched genre they actually are more real than the shows we have right now just something that`s on my mind while watching these

I stopped watching at the last season. Every characters on the show become utterly annoying
The show tackled the issue of gifted children or children being told how smart they are in their formative years. Rory was a cautionary tale about spending her life up until college being told how super smart she is. When professors ceased to be impressed by her load of books, she was completely unprepared. One professor hurts her feelings and she completely gives up. Most college students find that their original career choice was not for them. College kids change their majors all the time. Rory could not handle that.
I think the fact that Lane has a loving husband, is a mom, and continues to play drums is admirable! Fame and fortune isn’t everything, so the fact that she chose the life she has means that is what she wanted. There is nothing demeaning about having a family and doing whatever you need to do to make it work ❤️

the man in the photo was christopher… it was them when they were younger… i think it said the date on the back.
We were just there earlier this month and the line-cutting was ridiculous. People send ahead one person in their party and then force their way through the line to “catch up” with them. No. You left your party. That’s on you. You should all enter together. We had three older women push through at Alice in Wonderland, waving and calling to someone allegedly up front. We saw a solo man on his phone pushing through at RotR. A mother and young son pushed through at Peter Pan to catch up with the dad… An older couple pushed through like this at Web Slingers, and the line wasn’t even long! This happened at least once a day across our three days at the park. We did have a family at RotR waiting and waving people past. That’s a whole other situation. But I still think people should all be able to wait. their. turns. The lines are long. But everyone is waiting in long lines. You aren’t special because one person decides not to use the restroom or grab food to eat in line or whatever.

This may be controversial, but I kinda disagree with the Jess violating Rory's boundaries point. I know that it wasn't a pretty sight, but they were in a room making out and he just tried to take a step forward (ik he was frustrated with the whole dropping out of school thing), and he stopped the second she said not here or now. Most high school guys in a relationship might have tried to jump base at some point in their life. The important thing is to know if you have your partner's consent and stop right away if you don't. I hate how people make it sound as if he tried to rape her. Logan has treated her much worse multiple times and I'm surprised by the number of people who still crib that she should've accepted his proposal.

How can you justify this? I'm sure every boy who has ever crossed boundaries has a sob story but that doesn't justify the guys behaviour. The issue is not just that he was trying to sleep with her when she was clearly not ready nor comfortable, he literally gaslights her saying that he did not invite her up and she was the one who chose to enter into the room as if that's a signal that she wants to sleep with him. You can't even compare him with Logan. If you watch when Rory and Logan first sleep together, he asks for her consent TWICE! only after receiving her verbal consent, he proceeds. Logan might be so many things but he has always always treated her with Respect!
I absolutely hated the way Rory reacted when Lorelei called her on her BS following her sleeping with Dean. It was such a pathetic temper tantrum.

The Genius of Gilmore Girls is their ability to have serious plot topics with humour & no resolution. Escalation? Sure. Repair/improve…not likely.
Despite the time/energy/money Gilmore’s have; they question the Quality of their relationship 2 each other. Now add Rory’s dad & his relatives (they died & left Rory (1st grandchild of 2 nothing directly? Really?). See how nothing has improved? (Via complete lack of effort?)
i think the thing that threw me off is she was willing to with dean especially considering he was married, like he left her not that long after. looking at it now rory is the dumbest character i’ve ever seen portrayed…

tbh i think jess is in the wrong but i also think he was just in the moment. plus rory kinda gave the impression she wanted to do that too and he stopped after rory said to stop. he was probably embarrassed after that causing him to lash out. it all happened so fast then when RORY* stormed out (not jess as this video said) he came straight after her and said she didn’t do anything wrong. while i understand jess shouldn’t have done that i think people overreact about the situation.

Jess was the only one of her bf to see his wrongs and CHANGE. He grew as a person and a character and tries to fix everything. Logan was always horrible. He literally got her sent to prison and is shown as a cheater and a liar and dean went way down and ended up also being a cheater and a liar. Jess changed for the better. The others changed for the worse.

Also, she spent a couple of hours in jail, she never went to prison.

Well, she didn't. Even Chris realises it when he thanks to Lorelai that she always kept the door open. She never spoke ill of him in front of Rory. It was Christopher who never showed up. I agree with Luke when they argue, where was Chris on Rory's graduation or when she was sick or whatever? He showed up just to make a grand gesture or to try again his relationship with Lorelei, but he was a shitty father. This should've been on the list.
lorelai never pushed Chris out of Rory life. That was Chris's chouce to do it. Where was Chris when Rory was a baby. Why didnt he help raise Rory.
