Wild Fishing - Catching big chub and brown trout on the dry fly

It has become something of an annual ritual, that myself and good friend Charlie meet up on a local stream every year for the spectacular mayfly hatches - and the fish which feed on them. This year was no exception, with some stunning fish - including a big mystery fish which smashed me up... so like every other self respecting fishing nut, I had to go back the following day and try again. Watch the video to find out how I get on.
Whenever I watch this, it makes me realise how lucky I am to have this amazing scenery, wildlife and fishing on my doorstep. I never take it for granted.

Good times! Thanks for taking the time to do the edit and that’s so cool that you captured the otter on camera. In this current age of live stream news feeds, it’s actually really nice to see a vid pop up from a time that now seems so long ago. Sorry your chub didn’t count 😅

Thanks Charlie - I was looking out the window at the wind and rain last weekend, and happened to find a clip from that trip... watching it, really cheered me up, and it took me back to the happy days of summer. So I decided to make the vid. It does seem like such a long time ago. I'm already looking forward to meeting up for next year's mayfly hatch. Did you see the speed with which that chub tore across the stream when I released it... let's hope the otter didn't catch it!
