I have the arrow head shift and brakes. They match pretty well. And are the same on both sides. Besides, no normal person is even going to notice that once you put them on the bike.
I knew I'd be the only one who noticed the problem of I installed them, but I'm the only one who matters when it comes to this. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night haha
I figured I couldn't possibly be the first person to notice this lol, I knew immediately I couldn't install them knowing it was like that even if no one would notice it bike.
Seems like either they didn’t even think about it, or it was a decision to cut costs of manufacturing. That would drive me nuts too. Glad you caught if before I ordered a set! 🤦🏻♂️
Yeah, it could have easily been an oversight, or maybe it was only manufactured with the shift peg in mind and it just happens to fit some brake pegs as well. Either way, they are marketing it now as both and it should be clearly advertised that it will just look stupid if you try to use it for both.
@@Ruidac0 I just recorded a review on them that will be out in a couple week, but everything is positive. There's a bit of a learning curve with upshifting, but nothing that would cause me to persuade you not to get them.
I will next time. I liked the look of the Riot mini boards better than Joker's mini boards, but I will not be shopping Kuryakyn for anything else ever again.
I’ve been riding for I’d guess 16-17 years now, and I’m sure my view on kuryakyn is a bit stupid and silly, but that name alone has mostly kept me away from buying their products. I don’t know what it is, but I hear that word hit my ear and it straight up makes me cringe, and feel a little ill, I have no idea why. As a result when people ask what parts are on my bike on occasion, I don’t want to have to say that word. Lol. I have only purchased one thing from them ever. It was a front signal wiring kit for the scout with built in resistors/filters. I thought it would be ideal and easy so I wouldn’t have to cut the factory harness, on the bike side, or original signal side. All was well until I went to put my new signals on, and noticed they put the wrong connector end on the pigtail. There supplied connector was the same as what’s on the bike side of the harness. So I ended up cutting a pigtail off the factory blinker anyway, which I hated to do. Then to top it off I left a review on their website of the issue, hoping they would correct it, for future customers. I don’t think they did, but they did remove my review. I do like that lower radiator hose cover they make for the scout, but I recently noticed on eBay they sell the same one cheaper, without the kuryakyn branding. I bet it comes from the same factory. Oh well, good video that issue with those pegs would bother be as well. Also, I would think it’d actually be cheaper to make the molds to cast them into a true universal piece cheaper, than making one side smooth, and finished.
I’m the exact same. I cannot stand a single product they make. I’ll spend $80-$100 more for a quality product over a big box company like the K word. Just an absolutely garbage company.
@Buddy weiser That's hilarious lol. I have hated typing the K word over and over again while discussing this issue haha. It's not an easy word to spell correctly either. I'm bummed by the whole situation, but figured I had to let others know before they catfish even more sales from us poor consumers.
Yeah, the angle is different, they don't have the groove down the middle like the floor boards. I would be willing to overlook those things if it didn't straight look backwards on the brake side. And it's not like they are cheap either. The pair is $80. I expected better.
It DOES STATE “shift/brake”…one fits all!!!
So get the mini brake pedal that goes with the set....
From everything I could find both on Kuryakyn's site and others like Revzilla, there is only one part number for shift/brake peg.
Thank you for this! I’m glad I researched first, I just removed them from my cart. I would not have been able to handle this either
The more you know!
3599 sold as a pair.

Not sure who you ordered them from but we sell them as a pair. Part# 3599
Even on Kuryakyn's own website, I could not find an opposite design for the passenger side.
Part#3599 are foot pegs... not shifter / brake pegs
Dude! I just got them the other day and when i saw it I lost my mind!

@@Jimbobbington I'm debating. I'm not sure what i wanna do.. the Joker Machine pegs I'm not sure if they fit

I'm not seeing the issue 😕
I wish I didn't either lol
@@Jimbobbington???
Thanks for the warning. Are you experiencing any out-of-the-ordinary vibrations with the footpegs?
Nah, I don't think so. I actually love them a lot!

@@Jimbobbington awesome looking forward to watching it
Did u ever get this figured out?
Only by sending them back and ordering something else 😢
@@Jimbobbington damn i was hoping there was another part. I'm like u, it all has to match
Yup. Same thing happened to me. Kept one for the brake and sold the other one. Super lazy.
I emailed them and gave them the link to my video. I doubt they'll do anything about it, but I had to call them out.
Wait an I missing something, can’t you just flip that right one vertically and it’ll match, or is the underside a different pattern so not possible?
Actually just watched the video again and I can see the bottom is different.
@@ShaunPaulJohnston yup, only works in one direction! I was pissed!

Whatever the case was with Kuryakyn the center 2 bars or lines in the center that go diagonal don't match neither 🤦♂️

Who cares? Now get some bark busters and hit the trails & quit your whining.
This kinda stupid on them
They could have just the brake/shift peg universal.
Seriously, it wouldn't have been hard to design it so it would look the same on either side.
WTF that's insane
Right? I wish I was one of those people who don't notice stuff like this, but alas, I am cursed.
