Don Adams was warned going into Get Smart that he would be typecast for life if he did the show, and was offered a deal that gave him less money up front, but partial ownership of the show. He took the deal and did alright for himself.
Thanks for posting this! I remember watching this as a kid, and was telling my own kids about the 3DBB, and how cartoons could actually be educational!
FUCKING CLASSIC!! I luvved Chumley, he wuz so cute and had good voice work. And the late Smart (can't think of his name) as tenn tux had a perfect voice. Very funny stuff.
In those days, it wasn't uncommon for television and movie celebrities to try and make xtra cash by doing television cartoons; Whether it be Edward G Robinson, Wally Cox, Larry Storch, Jim Bachus, Don Adams abd so on. Today the same kind if celebrities wouldn't be caught dead doing Saturday morning cartoons. That's how big their egos have evolved since those early days.
So that's where Neil Armstrong got the idea, "Big first step", I guess that's 'one giant leap for Walrus Kind', lol. Did anyone else notice it sounded like the moon landing but was in this cartoon 6 years earlier ;)
@cholulasaucehot - bavgoalie is NOT wrong. You didn't read the string of comments leading up to theirs. The string said Don Adams was the voice for both Tennessee Tuxedo and Inspector Gadget, and he was. imdb com/name/nm0010915/"
@flyby7a I've never been a fan of name calling either. I don't think I even know what Chumlee's real name is on Pawn Stars. When I was in elementary school my 5th grade teacher refered to one girl as "dunsel", infering she was a "dunce". He never used her real name. They would probably fire a teacher for that today.
(cont.)

Notice that Chumley was snacking on oysters. This was inspired by "The Walrus And The Carpenter."

tennessee tuxedo Sounds like Inspector Gadget!
That's because he IS Inspector Gadget. They were both voiced by Don Adams.
So that's where Neil Armstrong got the idea, "Big first step", I guess that's 'one giant leap for Walrus Kind', lol. Did anyone else notice it sounded like the moon landing but was in this cartoon 6 years earlier ;)
That's because he is! Both characters are voiced by Don Adams of TV's "Get Smart."
They were both members of the Weather Underground!!!!!
My school could really use a 3D black board.
@flyby7a Thats why I clicked on this. I've only ever known of 2 people named Chumlee!!

Maxwell Smart from get smart voiced by the penguin
I thought Mr Whoopi had a 3D TV. is it a 3d TV?
Because it portrays Walruses as dim witted.
Now where is that 3DBB?
It must be in the closet.
CRASH!
who butchered the original opening music with that synthzised junk?
3 Dimensional Black Board = IPhone
