    Hey everybody!
    I've finally made the Stylized Hair PRO into an installable add-on!
    Took a while, but now it's at a place where I am satisfied with the functionality and the ease of use.
    This is a Geometry Nodes based add-on for Blender, that will allow you to create stylized hairstyles in a streamlined, procedural way!
    It is focused on working with the hair curves system in Blender, but I've also adapted it to be able to work with other curves (bezier, paths) in the more traditional way of stylized hair creation.
    It features a lot of tools to create and control hair curves - from their shape, geometry, materials, ornaments, and even animating them with a Hair Dynamics system.
    If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to leave them in the comments.You can also check out my work at:

Not that it wasn't difficult before, but this is far more intuitive and lets us focus more on the fun part - which is styling the hair. c: After the frustration of trying to use curves by hand, this was an absolute gift! Sorry to bother you here, but I wasn't sure what the best way to contact you would be for this, (if there's an email or something, I'm sorry if I overlooked it) but I think I'm having a glitch with it. It's hard to explain without showing a picture, but it seems like there's a kind of "knot" in the geometry near the tip of whatever strand I load in. With wireframe turned on, it doesn't show over the rest of the strand, and just sort of tangles up in this one section near the tip? If that makes sense. I'm using EEVEE, if that matters, and have tried several settings and tools to smooth it out or untangle it. Weirdly, the strand reacts normally to everything else.@@denoa3D

    Hello. Thank you so much for this wonderful add-on. I have a problem where my stylus doesn't work well but the mouse works fine. For instance, when using Slide with stylus, it simply lags and snaps back to its original location if I do manage to drag it with the stylus. As soon as I switch over to the mouse, it works fine. Beautiful add-on!

    • @denoa3D
      @denoa3D  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yea, I have the same issue with the stylus. It also happens when dealing with a normal hair curve, without the add-on (even if I uninstall it, still bugs out). Idk what might that be, I guess it might be some bug in Blender or some setting somewhere. Though, I find it kinda awkward to groom hair with the pen anyway, so I just use the mouse for it.

    I have another question. Sometimes when you duplicate the strand, move on to another and come back to it i realized that It was locked and couldnt move or I couldnt do any other operation on it. I dont know if that follow a pattern or if it just random or maybe I did an operation locking it? Do you know what might be the cause of that?
    EDIT: Nvm I found the reason. Sometimes I went into the edit mode and deselected the path without realizing it and thus making me unable to do the aforementionned actions on it. Smh lol

    Just bought your plugin and having a play around atm... One thing I notice is if you move the strand in object mode and then return to sculpt mode the tools (like comb) don't really work anymore. I've tried setting location but that didn't help, any suggestions on how I should be moving strands after they have been created?
    UPDATE: Nevermind I figured it out, I should have been using the slide tool in sculpt mode! :)

    Hey boss, I've used the v2 of this addon in the past so I was excited to try out v3, but I'm having some issues at the moment. I'm on the latest version of blender (4.1.0) and when I click setup after adding the curve to the mesh, the curve just disappears and isn't replaced by the hair strand like the video. is there a specific version I should be using? I've tried using multiple versions of the addon, from 3.14 to 3.10

    I recently bought and downloaded this addon (just yesterday, actually) and have been trying to get it to work. After failing that, I downloaded one of the older versions and tried that, which does work. After comparing the two, I see that the newest one has a lot of geometry nodes that don't seem to be connected. Comparing the nodes to an older version, there's nothing connected to the Group Output, among others. Since the geometry nodes of the older version and the newer aren't quite the same, I can't just backwards engineer all of the broken connections, so I can't quite get it to work, but I thought I should let you know if you haven't already caught the problem yourself. Otherwise I cannot figure out what went wrong since @shibaos and I are using the same version of Blender and are able to follow along up until adding the setup. So, I think the disconnected geometry nodes may have something to do with it. I'm not sure how things got disconnected, but it's the only lead on troubleshooting that I can think of currently.

    • @denoa3D
      @denoa3D  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep, at 4.0.2 it seems to disconnect the geometry sockets when you import the node setup.
      My guess is that because there were some internal changes to the node sockets in latest releases of Blender, that might have messed it up. But there's now way to know for sure.
      Once you reconnect them, it works, but it's tedious and impossible if you don't know where things are supposed to be.
      Either way, it should work fine on 4.1.0.
      I usually avoid using all the newest nodes to retain some level of backwards compatibility, but sometimes it's unavoidable. Generally I suggest using the newest version anyway if possible. So check if this solves the issue and let me know.

    hello. I purchased your add-on and am using it well. However, I'm having a bit of a problem, so I'm leaving a question. When the curve is stretched, the spacing between vertices is not constant. I feel there are limits to keeping the spacing constant through the smooth function. Is there any other function that allows the spacing between vertices to be constant?

    • @denoa3D
      @denoa3D  หลายเดือนก่อน

      How do you stretch the curve? If you use the Grow or Snake Hook brush, it usually messes the curve points spacing. Using the "Constant" falloff helps a bit, but if you want to equalize them, you can use the Smooth brush with a few strokes over the curve and it will smooth it out.

  • @kurozeitsuki7846
    @kurozeitsuki7846 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Hey! Fantastic work. I just bought the addon and I was wondering is it normal that when moving the hair strand it is a bit slow like it is lagging? I have a 4060, 32GB ram so i dont understand why. Thank you!

    • @denoa3D
      @denoa3D  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hard to say. I have a lesser card and don't experience much lagging.
      Typically, when it comes to viewport stuff, the CPU is the limiting factor. Though, you should really experience slow down when there are a lot of hair strands.
      To help out, you may want to lower the hair geometry resolution from the 'Settings' section.
      Also, I find that sometimes the 'Surface Deform' modifier which is added every time you add a new hair curve slows the viewport a bit. If you don't intend to use it, remove it. It might help.

      @@kurozeitsuki7846Oh yeah, absolutely, I forgot to tell you that. Having a dense base mesh impedes performance heavily. Absolutely! Just remove the modifier from the ones you want to copy to, either from the red 'Remove SHP Setup' button, or by deleting the modifier. Then select all curves, with the one you want to copy from active (which should have the SHP modifier, that you want to copy the settings from), then there's an arrow drop-down in the modifier, that has the 'Copy to selected' option.
