You make everything fun Wendy. Those cookies looked yummy😊 I hope I get to go camping this year. I have never been and haven’t a clue what to do but I plan to rewatch some of your videos to figure it out. You are so inspiring❤ Thank you!
I'm 60 and started camping two years ago. Had no clue what I was doing but watched lots of videos. I absolutely live it and have been going ever since.
There are tons of resources online to help you get started - I hope you enjoy your first camping trip! if you have a question you think I might help with please send it along.
Fun watching you and I thank you for all the videos that bring me back to the days I camped and hiked...at 86 those times are gone for me and you are so cool and wonderful to watch! Going with you is the wonderful thing I can still do!
Lovely video! !!!!Thanks for taking us along! I’ve watched you before, but I don’t think I’ve ever commented. I love that you are putting out videos as a strong, older woman!!!! I am 65 & I’m about 3 years into hot tent camping and I love it! Keep making videos!
Wendy Thankyou so much, you going out there and talking us along.its so much peaceful and relaxing quite.its so good for my soul.God take care of you, thanks for being such a blessing.❤❤❤❤
You've got a lot of spunk, it's amazing. I would love just to have an outdoor fire except for the fact that my fire pit is buried under 3 plus feet of snow at the moment. Another huge snow fall last night.
Wendy...you are braver than I to have an 'overnighter' when the temps are at freezing! But those fresh baked cookies could be a persuasion!! Life is definitely an adventure with you- and I enjoy 'looking in' on where you will take us next. 😀👍
👍👍👍 .. nice 😊. Those Charcoal Briquettes came in handy in the Bushbox LF. Charcoal performs well for it's weight and is an often-overlooked fuel source. Thanks for sharing .. take care ..
Wonderful cookies Wendy. Very creative. You've got the hot tent set up very cozy. Great idea on the larger heavier ground tarp. Actually great ideas all around. Your videos are always fun and educational. Thanks for sharing.
@wendyoutdoors2230 Yes, it certainly did Wendy. I've only tried cast iron pan pizza on the fire grill using charcoal on the lid to create somewhat of an oven. But your system using the fire box really seems to replicate an oven. I'll be working on that this year for fun.
Morning Wendy--I'm home sick with a viral infection and enjoyed watching you bake and eat your chocolate chip cookies. 🍪🍪 They looked scrumptious and the perfect treat to enjoy while cold-weather camping. Your tent's new additions look like they'll kept you snug and cozy, along with the added cookie calories! Your dinner and breakfast looked tasty too. Thanks for this week's adventure, Wendy. Happy Trails! Jenny 🐻❄❄🔥💙
Hi Wendy betcha the chocolate cookie smelt great cooking sure looked tasty. Actually all your meals look tasty . Nice set up Wendy in your tent. we have had -28 here in southwestern Ont, I am already for Spring , I am not much a winter individual anymore . thanks for bringing us with you always loved . blessings for many more adventures . hi Milo & Your Hubby.
Your filming is superb! The angles, the colors, the shots are stellar! God bless you woman for taking this on! What kind of workout routine do you have to stay in shape?!!!
thanks very much for the compliments. I don't have a routine but I do walk pretty much every day for an hour or more plus I try to lead an active life- Not too much sitting, especially during the day. Evenings I just veg!!
Wonderful video again, Wendy. The moon on the lake reminds me of all the full moonlight paddles I’ve done in my solo canoe. Love your hot tent camping series and your new set up. The Bush box twig stove with Billy can is something I have to try! I’m looking at buying a hot tent soon and like your idea of the larger tarp inside. I’m so excited to get back out winter camping. You’ve inspired me to get back to it in a more comfortable way! I’ll most likely spend my first night out in the back yard while watching your videos! Thank you for making this so much fun! ❤
Wow, Moon on the lake was spectacular! Good job with the video! HA! I was eating a chocolate chip cookie right along with you, too funny. I know yours was better. Good setup, you can tell a pro when you see one.
Excellent use of your camping kit - I don't think you would have any problems surviving in the wild. Another inspirational video, I so enjoy your enjoyment!
Love watching ur vids Wendy!! U so brave going camping all by urself, hopn i can b brave to go alone this year.and soso cool making cookies in a barrel.
Hi Wendy, another fantastic adventure. I love the new sleep setup you have, and that board under the fire blanket is a great idea. The cookies looked tasty, however, just a little warning about the rocks in the pan, wet rocks "sometimes" explode when on a fire so be carful as I would hate you to get Hurt. Can't wait for summer to see you back in the canon.
@@wendyoutdoors2230 That's a great idea, Wendy. in fact I'm going to steal that idea from you. Because I use to heat up some small rocks to keep in my pocket to keep my hands warm, until one went bang.
Ohmygoodness, Wendy…I panicked a bit at 0:15 when you shared about the night going down to zero! Then i realized this video would not have been posted if you were not already safe!!! Duh! 😅 You are a courageous soul! GLAD that everything worked out! Thanks for sharing!
Wendy, you are always an inspiration. Loved the cookie baking and the lake & moon shots. I’m so happy that you were able to get out in nature and share your adventure with us. Hooray for more subscribers, you deserve it 😊
I watched last night! I enjoy the hiking and overnight stays. I tend to watch your videos more than once. I turned 75 November, and you keep me motivated to continue hiking
What a lovely trip! Thanks for taking us along! ❤ I have a Billy can baking setup, too, which I am hoping to try this winter. I went out a little over a week ago in South Carolina. It got down to -3C, but it was a really nice night. The air was dry, and it was one of the easiest campfires I have ever had down here. I took my backpacking tent like I normally do, but I think it may be time to go to my bigger tent for really cold nights. There needs to be more room for my extra clothing and equipment. I also have a camp toilet, and it was just a bit crowded this time around. 😅
It’s so nice to hear about your experience! Glad you had a great trip.Sounds like a bit more room might add some comfort. That is why I use this bigger tent in the cooler seasons. Plus of course, I adore the stove!!!
Thanks for another inspiring video. Your cooking and night sequences were so well done. You are a tough cookie! Makes me want to get out and practice in my backyard with my little twig stove.
I can match the hot tent, tarp on the floor, sleeping gear and the twig stove....and then I spoil it all as out comes a boil in the bag Military Ration Pack meal..while Wendy whips up Chocolate Chip Cookies and other delights...😊😊
That was so much fun to watch! I am amazed at your skills and positive attitude! You had your woodstove in the tent, the Billy Can oven, and the firepit grill, all going at the same time! I am impressed.
That moon was so bright that I thought at first thatnit was a spotlight! LOL It sure was beautiful shining down on the water like that. Those chocolate chip cookies looked delicious! I'm thrilled at how that little setup is working out for your cooking pleasure; or should I say, your eating pleasure? LOL
I always get so excited when I see there’s a new Wendy video! It was fun to see your joy over your cookie success. I could smell their delicious cookiness through my screen.

What a great camp out! I am thinking I need to try baking in a billycan over my stick stove. Also, I like your scarf. My daughter knitted me a smart wool hat, it is very warm.
this is a special scarf- Many years ago I asked my Grandma to knit me a small scarf just to put around my neck. It is like I am getting a lovely hug from her!! I have had it about 25 plus years. Lots of hugs there!!!
We liked this video. So cool how you made those cookies. Really creative. They sure looked delicious. Also, that looked like a tasty pierogi dish. We fry pierogies in olive oil and then dip them in a variety of sauces; whatever we have on hand. Sometimes we pour sauce on top and top with nuts for a little crunch. They're pretty versatile. We're glad you tried out the bigger tarp for your floor. It looks good. Your campsite is beautiful. We love the pics of the lake with mountains in silhouette, so pretty.
Love your passion for being out in nature. You encourage all of us to enjoy the simple things like warm cookies on a cool winter’s day. Be safe and keep it up.
Wendy, you made me chuckle - I'd expect a hot tent to keep me warm too. Those additions you made to your hot tent seem like they worked very well for you, which is good. Not going to try that here today - it's minus 11F - bitter, brutal cold outside. Your night photos of the lake were stunning; so peaceful with the moon shining on the shimmering water. Pelmeni - oh my, growing up we made them by the thousands. A homemade, beef short ribs soup stock, gently cooked the pelmeni (ground beef and pork, onions, seasonings) separately, then put soup stock into bowl, added cooked pelmeni, cut them open in bowl and those luscious flavours would permeate the broth too. Thanks for taking me back to my much younger days, and sharing your wonderful Winter camp-out with all of us. Be well. Elisabeth
The Pelmeni is made in Abbotsford BC and I bought at our local grocery store. I really like them , especially as they have no fillers, just tasty food. Happy they gave you a good memory
Thanks for sharing this fun, inspiring and beautiful camp. Those cookies looked yummy as im sure they tasted. I am going to get a billi can and try some wonderful campfire recipes. Great video as always Wendy. have an amazing rest of the week
Hi Wendy. What an enjoyable time you've had in your campsite. I might suggest a wool sweater or insulated jacket under you in your chair to keep you more comfortable in front of the fire. We've found that quite helpful when camping. We're under a cold weather advisory here with night time temperatures of minus 30. Another TH-camr I watch KCHappyCamper is out hot tenting in this crazy weather. That full moon was spectacular here, too.
Hi Ann- I just watched Kevin's video last night- You folks have the real cold- we have the damp cold. Just eats into you somehow but I can't imagine what Minus 30 would feel like-. Good time to stay home I think!!
Thanks Wendy! The reflective sheet under your mattress is a great idea - wouldn’t have thought of that 😊. And I’m definitely buying the outdoor stove - that cookie!!! Wow. Gotta get our priorities right eh. 😘🤗
Well done Wendy! You really are a motivator, especially for us over 65 crowd. Thanks for showing the cookie back. I've seen this before also on TH-cam and have wanted to try it. I look forward your next video.
Hi Wendy! You are one amazing lady, getting out in the cold weather, sharing great camping tips with us, and the beautiful scenery of your chosen camp. I could almost smell those cookies. They looked great. Take and stay safe. Look forward to your next vlog. Thanks 😊 Elizabeth and Alfie , woof!
What a wonderful overnight. Glad you had great cc cookies and glad you stayed warm. I guess over time you get all these things figured out. Loved how accomplished you are at "fast and furious" packing up. Thank you for the video.
Hi Wendy! This was a GREAT video! You're tent and sleeping system improvements are really well thought out... im looking to do something similar for mine. Cookies looked delicious 😋! Always enjoy your channel and looking forward to more! Cheers!!
It’s been a hard weather week here in Michigan and a bit depressing. I was so thrilled to wake up to your video today. I immediately enjoyed the beginning with the beautiful backdrop of the mossy trees. How beautiful that area is. I also enjoyed hearing all the nature sounds when you woke the next morning! Once again, thank you for sharing your fun.
Wow, you are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful area. I enjoy your videos so much. Living on the east coast, I’m living vicariously through you for the winter. Lol can’t wait for camping season.
Hi Wendy! Your photography under the night sky was breathtaking! So serene and peaceful! I do love your cooking ingenuity with dinner and freshly baked cookies in your little stove! 😊❤ We are just below freezing here in Phoenix overnight and I am soooo cold. 🥶 I’m glad your hot tent setup is very cozy even at zero degrees! Are your weekend adventures far from home or within a few hours drive? Truly amazing to be out in nature even for a day or two.
So great to see you again Wendy, wow you are amazing, fancy making chocolate chip cookies, actually your meals always look delicious !!!! Thanks for sharing your trip with your many fans ... you always put a smile on my dial. 🦘🦘🦘🦘🦘
I was so o o happy to see another vlog so soon after your last "hot tent" adventure! This one was just as enjoyable. Your set up changes worked so well and baking cookies was a delicious surprise. The warmth of the hot tent stove was so near! But, I must give you great compliments on the photography. The background of your campsite, the lake and moon were enchanting!
That's one of our favorite spots to camp, going back in May. Great video, thanks for sharing your trip. I bet that cookie tasted sooo good, everything outside does! Cheers Greg & Erin
Yes, it's a great place. Perhaps I will see you there some time. I enjoyed your video camping out with the other couples. Looked like a huge amount of fun. Wonderful to find like minded people. Where did you end up? Was it near Stella lake?
How wonderful to enjoy the outdoors like when we were kids! I got a Pup Tent for a birthday present. The neighborhood kids camped out every Saturday in the neighbor’s backyard in tents around their fire pit. We would have anywhere of 3 to 7 tents. Weenie roasts and S’mores. Seeing you enjoying this is lovely. Thank you!😊
Those night shots were amazing! I’m so thankful you took them. I also loved that this is such a cozy video. Way to go with the winter camping and filming!
I recently subscribed last week, and I have been binge watching your videos ever since! I am 51 and my husband and I love camping. You are such an inspiration to me, all of the things you are doing at 75 blows my mind! It gives me hope that I can keep on camping for many years to come whether it be car camping or back country. Although I have never done a backpacking trip, watching you has made me want to get out and try it! Take care Wendy and keep on living a fulfilling life❤
many thanks for watching the videos and commenting. I am fortunate to be physically well generally. It makes a huge difference. I also have a thing about age not being a barrier. Health is a huge factor. thanks very much
Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us! I especially loved your cookie baking success in this episode, I haven't tried baking in my Billy Can yet, nice to see that it really does work. Putting on a layer of "winter fat" is a required ritual here in the north woods (currently -24c here and getting colder) ... of course the trick is getting it off come spring, now that I'm in my mid 70's that's not as easy as it used to be! ☺️
You are so motivating! Yesturday I watched your “I can’t wait” video and because of that I took my pup Riley out to scout out our next camping site. I have camped all my life, usually alone and you are such a cool lady. Thank you!!!
It’s so nice to become so happy and excited just seeing another video from you Wendy🙏 thank you for always being so positive and giving us so many smiles!! God bless🙏

Thanks Wendy! The reflective sheet under your mattress is a great idea - wouldn’t have thought of that 😊. And I’m definitely buying the outdoor stove - that cookie!!! Wow. Gotta get our priorities right eh. 😘🤗
You bet! Cookies are always a priority!
Well done Wendy! You really are a motivator, especially for us over 65 crowd. Thanks for showing the cookie back. I've seen this before also on TH-cam and have wanted to try it. I look forward your next video.
Thanks so much, I’m glad you enjoyed it, the cookies were a hit with many of us!!!
Another great little video Wendy 👏🏻

Your videos just keeping getting better and better, Wendy! Love your outings! Thanks for taking us along. Maybe I need to make some cookies now 😉
You bet you do! It's always good to have fresh cookies on hand!
Hi Wendy! You are one amazing lady, getting out in the cold weather, sharing great camping tips with us, and the beautiful scenery of your chosen camp. I could almost smell those cookies. They looked great. Take and stay safe. Look forward to your next vlog. Thanks 😊 Elizabeth and Alfie , woof!
thank you Elizabeth and Alfie-
What a wonderful overnight. Glad you had great cc cookies and glad you stayed warm. I guess over time you get all these things figured out. Loved how accomplished you are at "fast and furious" packing up. Thank you for the video.
too bad I couldn't really go that fast! lol
Hi Wendy! This was a GREAT video! You're tent and sleeping system improvements are really well thought out... im looking to do something similar for mine. Cookies looked delicious 😋! Always enjoy your channel and looking forward to more! Cheers!!
Thanks for the kind words- It is all a work in progress!
I love this. I'm looking forward to camping soon. Here in the Arizona desert, nighttime temperatures have been close to freezing lately.
I hope too can get out Marilyn- Never camped in the dessert- could be fun!
I hope you too will find some sunshine and warmth soon- thanks for sharing your thoughts Luanne.
Those cookies looked amazing!
they were wonderful Linda
Wow, you are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful area. I enjoy your videos so much. Living on the east coast, I’m living vicariously through you for the winter. Lol can’t wait for camping season.
I hope you can get out to enjoy your own camping season soon! Some times spring seems very far away.
I love love your videos!!!
I learn something new and it inspires me to be outside!!
That’s what I aim for! Thanks for watching and happy you are getting inspired.
Great camping trip, thanks for sharing your wonderful set up!!
Thanks so much! I'm always tweaking my setup to find what works best for me.
Thanks Wendy! Great adventure, and beautiful night scenes on the lake. So glad your channel is growing - I knew it would. 😊
thanks so much Janice-
Yes Cathy- I am not far from home this time of year- usually within an hour or two to three.
@@wendyoutdoors2230it’s amazing that you are so close so you can enjoy nature whenever you can, even in the cold winter! ❤
You are a cookie cooking monster 😂 Well done!!
Gotta have a treat on a cold night! 😊

It was fun Melissa- I really enjoyed it.
I was so o o happy to see another vlog so soon after your last "hot tent" adventure! This one was just as enjoyable. Your set up changes
worked so well and baking cookies was a delicious surprise. The warmth of the hot tent stove was so near! But, I must give you great compliments on the photography. The background of your campsite, the lake and moon were enchanting!
thank you very much.
You're living a good life! Thanks for inviting us in to enjoy too!
my pleasure Debra-
Wow..great job baking on the fire!
It is a lot of fun and a great way to spend some time in the cold.
@@wendyoutdoors2230 just past stella @ Pye lake. a real nice spot but busy in the warmer months.
Thank you!😊
It's lovely to hear about your childhood memories- weenie roasts and s'mores sound like a good time! We can still doit!!
Wendy, I just love listening to you sweety! You are so smart those chocolate chip cookies sound so good. Happy camping girl. Be safe out there.
thank you Catherine
I thought for sure you were going to say you had bought a cot. But your set up does look comfy. Great and informative video.
Wouldnt there be alot of cold air under a cot?
I think about that too. Have never tried one so I can't really say myself.
@@wendyoutdoors2230 think you would have to top it with some kind of insulated pad to lay on
@@conniewaite1371 On the contrary - it gets you up off the cold ground. And I'm talking about the ones that are only a few inches off the ground.
What a go-getter😀🤗 🍪 ❤
thanks you Zena
Those night shots were amazing! I’m so thankful you took them. I also loved that this is such a cozy video. Way to go with the winter camping and filming!
thank you very much. It was a beautiful night for sure.
Health is a huge factor. thanks very much
You are amazing!! Love your great sense of adventure and your delight in the warm chocolate chip cookie!
thanks Judy!!! Lots of fun
I love watching your video, thankyou for sharing
thanks you very much Joan
Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us!
I especially loved your cookie baking success in this episode, I haven't tried baking in my Billy Can yet, nice to see that it really does work.
Putting on a layer of "winter fat" is a required ritual here in the north woods (currently -24c here and getting colder) ... of course the trick is getting it off come spring, now that I'm in my mid 70's that's not as easy as it used to be! ☺️
I love your comment about putting on the "winter fat!" That's so true!
Thanks ! Good points with workable practical solutions.Stay warm sleep well, eat hearty we'll get to spring yet
Thanks so much for your encouragement!
hey, looks like it’s time to write a belly can cookbook !
I love that idea!
As usual a cozy video yet again. 😊 Those cookies looked really tasty😊
Thank you 😋
You are so motivating! Yesturday I watched your “I can’t wait” video and because of that I took my pup Riley out to scout out our next camping site. I have camped all my life, usually alone and you are such a cool lady. Thank you!!!
