    About Slant 3D
    🏭 High-Volume 3D Printing: Scalability Meets Flexibility
    Slant 3D's Large-Scale 3D Print Farms utilize 1000's of FDM 3D printers working 24/7 to offer limitless scalability and unparalleled flexibility. Whether it's 100 or
    100,000 parts, our system can handle it reliably, while still allowing for real-time design updates, ensuring products evolve with the times. This adaptability is key in today's fast-paced world.
    🌿 Sustainable Manufacturing: Eco-Friendly Efficiency
    Embrace a system that drastically reduces carbon emissions by eliminating carbon-intensive steps in the supply chain, such as global shipping and warehousing. Our approach minimizes this footprint, offering a more sustainable manufacturing option.
    ⚙️ Digital Warehouses: Parts On-Demand

    I think the lead time number is so big because they count it by thinking, "How many part files do we have? 10,000? What's the lead time on a new part typically? 2 weeks? Well with 3d printing its 0 right? So that's 20,000 weeks saved!"

  • @shanechristiansen38
    @shanechristiansen38 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    That number of months has to be so many months from this part, and moths of that part, all added together for a total

      agree, has to be the accumulated lead time(s) for multiple parts

  • @skaltura
    @skaltura หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    3D Spark --> They are probably talking about total cumulative lead times.
    ie. if part A typically has 3 months, it was needed 100 times == 300 months right there

    As a person who routinely ships things from Canada to the United States, it still amazes me how many people do not understand that a) if the box goes further it costs more, and b) YEG is a long way away from almost all of America. The closes part of the US to me is *Montana* and that's still damn near 1,000 km.
    Also, I respectfully submit that the Metric System for days/months/years is clearly the TNG style Stardate, where one year is 1,000 units. This works out very nicely to 3 units being very close to an Earth day, 1 unit is very close to an 8-hour working day, and 0.1 units being close enough to an hour to be a convenient to use time interval. And, of course, it's mostly powers of ten, a key part of a Metric unit.

    Gabe- Love these shop update videos! Every time I watch them I feel like youre the David of the Goliath 3D printing industry. I mostly use grey in my farm- do to have a timeline for that color? Are we able to get another shop view of how this new filament line is better than your old one? That video was SO cool and I must have rewatched it like 5 times because there was so much good information in it.
    Keep being amazing!!🎉

      Slant3D does not care much about Enthusiast level 3D Printers, because they would not work on a Giant Print Farm settings, that's why they created their own 3D printers that are as simplistic as possible. Those printers are making Injection Molding obsolete.

    • @user-ip4ks5kf2j
      @user-ip4ks5kf2j หลายเดือนก่อน

      they are not making it obsolete. if you need 1 million parts injection molding is still the way to go as it s cheaper and much faster.

    8:00 I assumed that was total lead time saved across all the parts that can be 3d printed on demand.
    Similar to how a process can save up to 10,000 man hours.

    The lead times probably aren't that crazy. If you consider multiple different parts in parallel. They don't have to be in series but it would still make the number an accurate representation.

    200+ years in lead time, so if one expects a part has a lead time of 6 months and it can be reduced to 1 month one would need to achive that for about 520 parts which seems reasonable within 2 years.
    Mostelikely quite easy if there ar part groups with left, centred and right versions with several sizes. Where i worked 10 years ago, we had part families with 12-16 similar parts. If one improved the lead time of one the others would follow with virtually no effort.

    The lead time number is bogus. It's probably calculated by lead-time * parts, does not work that way. They should show the average lead time improvement or some better statistical representation.

  • @dropbear9785

    2600/12 is 216.67 It's probably 'consultant math' where if you wait one month to get a part, and you buy 2600 of those parts, then that's 2600 months of lead time, right? Hahaha. Still no doubt that the supply chain is better....but I'd put low weight on the 'savings'.

    The Form4 is an LCD printer? Wtf? What do these idiots think their customers are? Just get an Anycubic and be done with it.
    Our Form3+ is basically gathering dust because the resin is expensive AF and destroys the VATs. So whenever you open a 200 Euro cartridge, you have 6 weeks to use it up. Complete insanity. We just use it for super delicate parts or stuff where we want their glass filled rigid resins. For all the rest it's Anycubic professional line with BASF resin. ST45M is a great allrounder.
