- Come to Universal Studios with us to see what's new this week! We talk HHN house announcement news and take a super detailed look at the all new Summer Tribute Store! This might be my favorite store yet! It's themed like a retro video store and focuses on properties that are featured in the new Mega Movie Parade coming soon to the park. We also tried some treats from the store, they weren't anything spectacular but it's always fun to try new treats! We hope you had fun hanging out with at the park today! Tlahuelpuchi is a vampire/witch type shape-shifter who usually manifests as a grotesque turkey or buzzard. The really interesting thing about the Tlahuelpuchi is that no one can be turned into her. People are born with the curse and cannot avoid it. They specifically love drinking the blood of children and infants. The Tlahuelpuchi originated in Tlaxcala and was prevelant in the indigenous Nahua culture of Mexico. Tlahuelpuchi’s lives amongst their human families and won’t discover their innate supernatural powers until puberty age. To which they must perform a specific ritual to transform. Fun Fact: The last person who was executed for being a Tlahuelpuchi was in 1973.

Loved the monsters of Latin America great house last year in Hollywood. Glad you get to see it in Orlando this year.
I remember the story of “El Silbon”. It is part of the folklore of my home country Venezuela. The legebd is from a region in the country called “Los Llanos”. My family used to have a farm house or “Finca” in a city called “Calabozo” and I remember the workers there telling us the story about this man who was cursed to carry the bones of his father (which he murdered). He was not the nicest of people and one of his traits was that he will whistle all the time (that’s why the name “Silbon”). Now according to the legend if you are a traveler in this region (Los Llanos) and you hear a whistle very near it means el Silbon is far away, but if you hear a whistle far away then el Silbon is very near..so better be careful if you are by yourself…This story scared me every time they told it..some people claimed to have heard the whistle

Those little finger monsters came along with the Real Ghostbusters action figures. I still have a couple of them kicking around. I think the orange one fits over the one character's head. Love it!

They did such a great job with the Tribute Store. I went on Saturday and loved the feel of the movie rental store and that rug in the arcade😍...how stinking cool was that haha. The little details are just awesome!! That's a bummer about the treats. I didn't try any of them but I do want to try the Back to the Future brownie...hopefully that one will be good like the one during HHN. I'm excited to see all of the new things opening up at Universal! 😁 Thanks for melting out there for us Tim. It has been extremely spicy outside haha. Huge hugs and love to you guys xoxo
Monstrous (Monsteroes) it was a house that was at last year’s HHN over in Hollywood and it was a fan favorite among the HHN fans that they decided to bring this HHN house over to Orlando. It was first revealed at MidSummer Scream last year.
Here’s the description for each of the 3 monsters
The first of the 3 monsters that you will encounter in this house is La Lechuza. La Lechuza, known as the Owl Witch, finds her origins in Mexican and Texan folklore as a shapeshifting witch who often appeared as an owl. The version of the story used for the house is as follows: An old woman lived in a village, and the villagers put her to death under accusations of being a witch. She comes back as an owl. Late at night, she disguises her voice as a baby crying to lure victims. A La Lechuza animated figure was built for the house.
Another is Tlahuelpuchi from the Tlaxcala region of Mexico. The myth that the team based the monster on is that anyone can be a Tlahuelpuchi, which they discover around puberty. To transform, they must conduct a specific ceremony and then transforms into one of a series of animals, most commonly a turkey vulture. They then suck the blood out of their victims’ skin.
The third “monster” will be El Silbón from the Los Llanos region of Colombia and Venezuela. The tale as Murdy tells it follows a boy living on a farm, fairly well off, who falls in love with a woman who his father doesn’t approve of. The father comes in and sees her and murders her. The boy then murders his father. His grandfather comes home and sees what happened. He whips the boy until the flesh falls off his back and pours alcohol on his wounds before setting dogs upon him to rip him to shreds. As the boy crawls into the woods, he gives him a bag of his father’s bones and condemns the boy to carry the bones of his father on his back.
The boy becomes El Silbón, a 12 foot tall creature with a distinctive whistle. The legend says if you hear the whistle and it sounds far away, he’s actually very close, and vice versa. He preys primarily on womanizers and drunkards. When guests enter El Silbón’s village, they will witness the scene of a pulqueria massacre. He has killed every single person inside
El Silbón has particular methods of murder. If the victim is a drunk, he sucks the alcohol out of their body through the navel. With womanizers, he rips them limb by limb, removes the bones from their bodies, and adds them to his sack.

Crazy how we're watching old "artifacts" from some time ago when technology wasn't advanced like it is today. And using high end 4K crystal clear cameras and getting to watch on 4K mobile devices and laptops. We've come a long LONG way! I remember when I had my first game console. Sega Genesis

If they still have e.t and just added shrek back then they can keep the mummy lol. Shrek is almost just as old as the mummy and e.t. is way older. I was honestly surprised they brought it back to the kid area. Nothing against Shrek or e.t.! I also love them too!
