The Year: 2008 The Time: 2:30 AM You awaken in a cold sweat. A light illuminates the room A sound penetrates the area. You hear those words. "All. My. Friends. Know the lowrider" You see him.
Ah yes, waking up from a nightmare to see George Lopez jumping around on my TV at like 3 in the morning, giving me looks, with Low Rider blasting...truly a vibe. Yeah, the show doesn't have any low points...besides Low Rider 😂. I loved the show otherwise of course despite being sleepy lol. I also enjoyed watching The Nanny, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (especially the moments where Jazz is kicked out of the house lol), and Family Matters on Nick at Nite. The Urkel Dance is iconic, and the fact that the actor who played Urkel was also the first American to voice Sonic the Hedgehog is incredible. Regarding Family BrainSurge, Family BrianSurge was just the third season of the show. The show debuted as just BrainSurge in 2010 that aired during the ordinary Nickelodeon hours rather than the Nick at Nite block. But they shifted it to Nick at Nite in 2011 for the third season as Family BrainSurge. So originally it wasn't families competing but just kids. They've also had celebs on the show like Nick stars or when there was a WWE special. The third season ran from July to November 2011 when the show was cancelled, and remaining episodes aired on Nicktoons in 2014. And yeah, the point of the visual puzzles is to test your memory, to keep paying attention and not getting distracted. Which reminds me of the Distraction News game from underrated HBO Family show Crashbox. During that segment, there was a cardboard cutout anchorwoman named Dora Smarmy who provided informative news segments while distractive images (some of which from other games) appear during the broadcast. So yeah, it was a test to see how well you remember key facts from the broadcast without being distracted. I always wanted to go to the Nickelodeon Suites Resort when I was little. My cousin and I both entered a sweepstakes for a trip to Legoland Florida on its opening day that included a stay at Nickelodeon Suites....and my cousin was one of the winners. On the bright side, he had to make up a lot of schoolwork, so at least I didn't have to worry about that since I didn't win. The resort in Orlando originally opened in 1999 as just a Holiday Inn, but in 2004, Nickelodeon announced a partnership with Holiday Inn to rebrand the location. Before licensing the Nickelodeon name to Holiday Inn, Nickelodeon had considered opening a hotel on its own. Nickelodeon decided against it, since they had observed recent troubles with their competitors opening themed locations (such as Club Disney). The company opted instead to give Holiday Inn the permission to use the Nickelodeon name and characters. Nickelodeon and Holiday Inn had further hopes to add at least four more Nickelodeon-branded hotels in other tourist areas but they did not materialize. The resort officially reopened as the Nickelodeon Suites in March 2005. A month after, Nickelodeon Studios closed, and the time capsule was moved from the studios to the resort. The resort had something for everyone, two waterparks with one having a huge slime bucket, laser maze, game shows, a Nick at Nite lounge for adults, character breakfasts, mini golf course, arcade, and even a 4D theater! In 2016, after the resort celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2015, it announced it was rebranding back into a Holiday Inn. When this happened, the time capsule moved to the Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank. It's understandable this decision was made, when Nickelodeon wanted a hotel partnership with Karisma, who opened Nickelodeon resorts in Punta Cana, Riviera Maya, and they opted to open one in Orlando too. Besides Holiday Inn, Nickelodeon was looking at a partnership for resorts with Marriott, a partnership between Viacom, Marriott, and Miller Global Properties (who owned Nick Suites). The first was supposed to open in San Diego's Liberty Station, and they planned to open 19 other hotels, but due to the recession in 2009, it was cancelled.
I liked Nick at Nite, even as a kid. It introduced me to a lot of older sitcoms that I may never have watched otherwise. I remember loving shows like Three's Company, The Jeffersons, and The Facts of Life.
Same. I remember when just hearing "Nick at Nite" brought to mind shows like Lassie, The Munsters, I Love Lucy, I Dream of Jeannie, or Bewitched. The marketing made a massive deal of airing The Brady Bunch on the block. Then all the pre 70s programming got shifted to the then-new TV Land network while shows like the Jeffersons, The Cosby Show, and Three's Company took over.
A wild fact about Glenn Martin, DDS, one of the creators was Michael Eisner! Yes, Michael Eisner as in the former Disney CEO from 1984 to 2005. He put up his own money to produce the pilot episode, pitched it to Nick at Nite rather than ABC. Eisner was quoted as saying the decision was based on Nick at Nite's record of nurturing shows. He wanted the show to have a 1970s sensibility including the design of the Winnebago which Glenn drives. It was inspired by the 1971 ABC made-for-TV movie In Search of America, which starred Jeff Bridges as a college dropout who drove a Winnebago across the country with his family. This 1970s feel is the same reason why the early episodes of the show have a laugh track, to mimic 1970s sitcoms. This was later removed at the request of the series' creators, with Eric Fogel citing the show having "too much internal thinking". Oh, and there was controversy with the timeslot. In November 2009, Maura Buete, a Florida mother, was outraged that the series contained "Shrekxual" references despite airing in an 8 pm weekday slot, immediately following SpongeBob SquarePants. In response to several complaints from parents, Nickelodeon (whose spokesman David Bittler had stated complaints were minimal) moved the show to Friday nights at 10:30 pm. The voice of Glenn's wife is Catherine O'Hara who was also Kevin's mom in Home Alone and Sally in The Nightmare Before Christmas, so this wasn't the first stop-motion thing she did. And I liked the twist that Wendy was actually from the DPRK.
Because all the good reruns are on OTA channels with antennas now again or physically available on DVD. Want Superheroes? Me2 or H&I. Want Classics of All Kinds? H&I, MeTV, Catchy, Cozi and AntennaTV all do it. Same with MeToons for Boomerang now.
@Superlad9494 Man all of that definitely proves that we have come a long way since way back then but now it also makes Nick at nite now feel even more dead, pretty much like Nick nowadays.
Watching Nick@Nite makes me appreciate all the sitcoms that came before I was born. It made me feel more of an adult understanding random references from Full House whenever I was around people older than me. Also made it awkward around kids my age when I reference a joke they’ve never heard of either 😅
Glenn Martin DDS is up there with Brawl iPods and The Wacky Adventures of Ronald McDonald for things from the 2000s that it feels like only I remember when I try talking about it.
The bill cosby animated show part had me dying laughing when i heard the family name and saw the animation i was like i know who made. I already know. My guess is gonna be right and then the slowed down OH MY GOODNESS just made be bust laughing. This is the most early2000’s Bill Cosby thing ever
4:26 So I fully believe you that this show overall isn't funny, but this clip had me absolutely dying of laughter. Maybe my sense of humor is just broken, but I love absurdist comedy so much
I was watching Hollywood Heights the whole way through pretty much for the soap opera-level attractive actresses and not as much with the soap opera-level drama.
Whenever I go to hotels on trips in the US, I watch 2 hours of Full House every night on Nick at Nite since I didn’t have cable at home. And because of them airing reruns for years after it ended, they introduced me to the show. I loved those days. I also liked George Lopez. And I thought the reason Wendell and Vinny was canceled was due to parents complaining that it was too Inappropite for kids. But if it aired on Nick at Nite, then IDK what they were expecting with a more adult and mature block. I thought the show aired on Nick, and not Nick at Nite, tbh.
When I think about Nick at Nite, the one show that comes to my mind is I Love Lucy. I also liked the Block Party Summer lineup and the old channel jingles from the 80s and 90s in between the shows.
Leave It To Beaver Never Aired On Nick at Nite It Was Dennis The Menace Instead and In July of Next year besides my 35th Birthday Nick at Nite turns 40 years old but Nickelodeon treats the block as an Afterthought nowadays It deserved better original programming
I feel that anime from Japanime would be a good idea. If they can get the rights to air stuff like Jujutsu Kaisen, Dandadan, the Captain Tsubasa anime reboot, and Konosuba. Then, their anime block could be a hit.
honestly, it doesn't even need much original programming, a couple shows maybe. what it really needs is more of a variety of old sitcoms, not just friends, mom, and modern family.
Wasn’t a huge fan of Nick At Nite but I did enjoy it. I liked Donna Reed, My Three Sons and Dennis The Menace but that was about it at the time when I was a kid. I wanted to see Nickelodeon continue all night. I get now why Nick At Nite is awesome. I still remember when that commercial for the kids chanting “We Want More Nick” came out and we got Nick At Nite pushed back…for like an extra hour. It was cool we got more Nickelodeon. Ty Connor you do a great job and happy holidays!
I love how Conner only references Scott Baio as being Chachi from Happy Days. I remember Scott mostly from being in Charles in Charge. I always felt that it was Scott playing the opposite of his Charles character.
2 things. 1. I see Conner video, I watch Conner video. 2. Shoutout to you for giving Jerry Trainor his flowers. Every role he's ever done for Nick was great and should be talked about how we do with Kenan, Kel, Miranda, Drake, Josh, etc.
I remember loving Nick at Night. My personal favorite was when you got to see Full House, George Lopez and Everybody Hates Chris all on the same night. Getting to see three families, each of a different ethnicity. Seeing how different culturally they were but same in coming together at the end as a family.
Honestly not a lot of people probably remember this but I remember I was a kid in high school in the 2000s and all the time Roseanne was always on Nick at night. Granted it never made me laugh but it always made me feel comfortable. I would watch an episode or two and then go to bed.
Omfg you're crazy! Growing up in the 80s and 90s it was so dope being able to stay up late and watch Mr Ed lol i got to stay up past midnight playing my new GameBoy during the summer!!!
lol I'm a new subscriber, so when I saw ur character in the thumb I thought it was another one from one of the nick shows, so I was like who is this from ? Lol loved the vid btw 💙
With how popular anime from Japan is nowadays. It made me want Nick @ Nite to start airing it to try something different. Video Idea: The WEIRD World of NBC Shows I want you to include are The Bill Cosby Show Family Ties Cheers Diff'rent Strokes The Facts of Life Night Court Punky Brewster The Golden Girls ALF Seinfeld The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Friends Community Saved by the Bell
I used to do stand up with a lady who’s biggest credit was being on Nick at Nites Funniest Mom Competition. When you brought it up in the video I wondered if I’d see her and lo and behold she was there in the background lol. Glad you said the show wasn’t funny bc neither was she lmao.
29:30 I used to hear this soundclip play all the time in one of the promos for See Dad Run that used to air on Nick back in the day, although I don't really regularly tune into Nick@Nite myself. 30:43 Don't forget about Dudley Puppy from Butch Hartman's third Nicktoon.
George Lopez was definitely one of my favorite reality shows as a kid, next to Fresh Prince, My Wife and Kids, and House of Payne as well as Meet the Browns. Oh and you can't forget Everybody hates Chris.
Another fun video, also since you talked about nick and CN in the 2010s it’s only fair for you to talk about nick and CN in the 90s. I would watch that video even if it’s 5 hours long
if every Hollywood movie studio ever goes bankrupt and if I get rich with my ideas I would try to acquire Nickelodeon and release a Nickelodeon branded soda Nickelodeon orange slime soda
I love wendell and vinnie as a teen when i found out that Jerry Trainor was the main cast for the show and i love him sm since icarly and still love him now he such a character on and off screen 🥺🥺
Dude somehow this video solved an age old mystery within my family I also have no memory of see dad run but my family will quote stuff from it all the time like there's this episode where the mom sings a song about pooping pants no I'm not kidding and my family will sing that when my dogs need to go out but we could never remember where that was from
so one thing i find so bizarre about glenn martin, dds, is that despite not really taking advantage of it's medium or rating, it was weirdly graphic, by which i mean, this was what they'd use to start off the programming block. in a vacuum, glenn isn't childhood trauma worthy, but it really shouldn't have aired directly after something like spongebob.
"AntDude said Three's Company" well now I'm going to go subscribe to him harder! And solid video, I watched the old shows more than the originals, so I didn't appreciate the heart they put in to many of them until now.
My first experience with Nick at Nite was watching old Roseanne and Married with Children episodes and then as got older watching the programs on Nick sister channel Tv Land.
Everyone waking up at 3am to the George Lopez theme song has to be a government experiment
Mine was being 12 and waking up to Adult Swim's anime block and always thinking "Oh the Chinese cartoons are on time to go to bed."
The Year: 2008
The Time: 2:30 AM
You awaken in a cold sweat.

You hear those words.
"All. My. Friends. Know the lowrider"
You see him.
Every damn time lol
You’ve never woken up during an episode either. It’s always the theme song 🤣🤣
You all suck the big one
😂😂😂omg so true. It haunts me!
Lol yea
George Lopez was the face, heart, and soul of Nick@Nite. Now Nick@Nite is dead and just the Friends block
Mr Ed is
I think of The Brady Bunch way more than George Lopez as the face of Nick @ Nite
It's most definitely all the ones that later bounced over to TVLand as the Face.
They recently acquired Modern Family so hopefully that will change that
Full House was that for the network before George lopez, and before full house, it was brady bunch
Ah yes, waking up from a nightmare to see George Lopez jumping around on my TV at like 3 in the morning, giving me looks, with Low Rider blasting...truly a vibe. That was my Nick at Nite. I was too young for the black and white stuff, but those classics you mentioned hit different.
Yep Facts of Life, Threes Company, I Love Lucy, and The Monkees for me!
Nick@Nite = SpongeBob Kids do yo Homework and Sleep.
When I was a kid Nick at Nite was still old black and white shows from the 50s and 60s.
Damn

Nick at nite had star power as well.
They got the real ellie may for a promo.
45 year old here. The only one i loved was Get Smart. Still a hilarious comedy.

+ Rewind TV and Laff
Pie is a perfectly good sponsor whose problematic nature has totally not been an active topic of conversation lately. Oops.
I’d be careful about the Pie extension. If it’s anything like Honey, you’re in trouble
deadass
I saw a Pie ad recently which said that it was from the same people as Honey so I would stay away
Watching Nick@Nite makes me appreciate all the sitcoms that came before I was born. It made me feel more of an adult understanding random references from Full House whenever I was around people older than me. BrainSurge actually first aired in 2009. Family BrainSurge aired as the third season of the show.
What are you talking about man? Your animal dubbing was hilarious!
I Loved BrainSurge! Here in Minnesota, We have a BrainSurge Ride at Our Nickelodeon Universe at Mall Of America!❤️📺🎶👍🏻
I loved watching BrainSurge growing up!! 22:07
The best nick @ nite then 😊
Nick @ nite now 😢
Also fun fact
The original unaired pilot of Hi Honey, I'm Home! had AJ McLean from Backstreet Boys as Skunk

My mum used to love Fatherhood back in the day
I was addicted to watching George Lopez show on Nick at Night as a teen. I thought it was so hilarious. :)
That Nick toons bumper with the ska music, iconic
When I think about Nick at Nite, the one show that comes to my mind is I Love Lucy. I also liked the Block Party Summer lineup and the old channel jingles from the 80s and 90s in between the shows.

No's So Disney Is The First Cartoon
Before Nickelodeon'
I just woke up and Conner has a new video already 😭🙏
7:41 bro what you say??? 😂😂
Just a heads up to everyone,”Pie” is a known scam.

Ay don't hate on Three's Company. I remember in 2003, being 13 watching episodes for the first time. Still top 3 favorite shows to this day
Wendel and Vinny seems so familiar, but at the same time I don't remember actually watching it.
I remember seeing it but I don't remember it being on Nick@Nite
@@bigjalapeno7061 At first it came out on regular Nickelodeon then it went to Nick@Nite.
I'm 40 and i had a tv in my room for as long as I remember and if i was up late i watched Nick @ Nite. I loved watching The Monkees when i was like 5
Honestly not a lot of people probably remember this but I remember I was a kid in high school in the 2000s and all the time Roseanne was always on Nick at night. Granted it never made me laugh but it always made me feel comfortable. I would watch an episode or two and then go to bed.
Is that CONNOR!?
*starts beatboxing about abortion*
Omfg you're crazy! Growing up in the 80s and 90s it was so dope being able to stay up late and watch Mr Ed lol i got to stay up past midnight playing my new GameBoy during the summer!!!
I always loved Brain Surge.
I cant believe Nickelodeon made a sitcom about adolf hitler and ava braun living together
lol I'm a new subscriber, so when I saw ur character in the thumb I thought it was another one from one of the nick shows, so I was like who is this from ? Lol loved the vid btw 💙
With how popular anime from Japan is nowadays. It made me want Nick @ Nite to start airing it to try something different. If they can get the rights to air stuff like Fieren Beyond Journey's End, Jujutsu Kaisen, Dandadan, and older stuff like Yu Yu Hakusho, the original Saint Seiya anime and Blue Gender. Then, their anime block could be a slam dunk.
Dude what does that have to do with Nick at night 22:29 I can literally see the nicktoons logo down there!
It wasn't Nick@Nite programming, but it did air during the later block of kids' programming. Probably where the confusion comes in tbh
13:47 This was the Nick at Night version of the Pranoia Agent opening on Adult Swim....
Bro. “Nick@Nite” introduced “Everybody Hates Chris” to the world. I remember seeing the Commercial for the show’s 1st episode
There was promos saying that Glenn Martin DDS was airing on Nickelodeon so it’s technically not a nick at night show?
the version of Nick that never happened in Europe...I think
Waffle doing the real work
Nick at Nite was mainly just reruns.
Won't lie I definitely fell in love with the "George Lopez Show" because of Nick @ Nite. Bought the DVDs cause if it.
Video Idea: The WEIRD World of NBC
Shows I want you to include are
The Bill Cosby Show
Family Ties
Cheers
Diff'rent Strokes
The Facts of Life
Night Court
Punky Brewster
The Golden Girls
ALF
Seinfeld
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Friends
Community
Saved by the Bell
That might be interesting
George Lopez, Friends, Full House, The Nanny are the shows I remember watching as a little kid
Hi Honey , I'm Home features guest appearances from classic shows
I used to do stand up with a lady who’s biggest credit was being on Nick at Nites Funniest Mom Competition.
Before Nickmoms we had, THIS! 8:48
George Lopez was definitely one of my favorite reality shows as a kid, next to Fresh Prince, My Wife and Kids, and House of Payne as well as Meet the Browns. Oh and you can't forget Everybody hates Chris.
Thanks for plugging Brainsurge.
You don't like classic old TV? You're missing out. Nick at Night some of the best stuff until they ruined it with Friends.
That blonde woman next to the logo was ELLIE MAY CLAMPETT from THE BEVERLY HILL BILLIES. Nick played that show every night.
I have memories of Glenn Martin DDS and Wendell & Vinnie. Fun fact: the latter was created by Jay Kogen, former Simpsons staff writer.
Question. Why do you continuously use past tense? Was/were etc.
Nick@Night still runs even now. It never stopped
Fun fact they owned The Big bang theory and modern family now
Oh man, Nick at Nite had a lotta of variety in the 90's and 00's, it was kinda passé during the classical days but wonderful.
20:55 There was an entire episode about Glenn's son joining the circus by getting his head stuck inside the elephant. Now that is a visual.
Another fun video, also since you talked about nick and CN in the 2010s it’s only fair for you to talk about nick and CN in the 90s. I would watch that video even if it’s 5 hours long
Wow, I’m old. I still remember when Brainsurge, Wendell & Vinnie, & Instant Mom first came out.
if every Hollywood movie studio ever goes bankrupt and if I get rich with my ideas I would try to acquire Nickelodeon and release a Nickelodeon branded soda Nickelodeon orange slime soda
I love wendell and vinnie as a teen when i found out that Jerry Trainor was the main cast for the show and i love him sm since icarly and still love him now he such a character on and off screen 🥺🥺
i only remember nick&nite only for that it broadcasted old spongebob episodes sometimes
Dude somehow this video solved an age old mystery within my family I also have no memory of see dad run but my family will quote stuff from it all the time like there's this episode where the mom sings a song about pooping pants no I'm not kidding and my family will sing that when my dogs need to go out but we could never remember where that was from
Wendell and Vinnie was drowned out of my brain by Full House and the song Lowrider, I did enjoy the show from what I remember though
A few years ago they started airing The Office on Nick@Nite
I remember Brain Drain and Wendel and Vinnie but I don't remember them being on Nick@Nite
I’ve been waiting for years for someone to bring up Glenn Martin dds it felt like fever dream for so long
Oh NO dude you need to get away from Pie they're a total scam
so one thing i find so bizarre about glenn martin, dds, is that despite not really taking advantage of it's medium or rating, it was weirdly graphic, by which i mean, this was what they'd use to start off the programming block.
in a vacuum, glenn isn't childhood trauma worthy, but it really shouldn't have aired directly after something like spongebob.
Damn
Remember when nick at nite was always hosted by this guy inside
Your t.v. set?
So Connor Were Just Gonna To Do A Collab With Lulaloopsey That Beginning In 2025 When We're Doing That
George Lopez is tied as my favorite sitcom. I’ve watched the whole show at least 6 times in the last two years and I can’t think of one bad episode.
"AntDude said Three's Company" well now I'm going to go subscribe to him harder!
And solid video, I watched the old shows more than the originals, so I didn't appreciate the heart they put in to many of them until now.
George Lopez and that 70s show had me staying up stupid late when I was like 10
I’m STILL waiting for you to do Samurai, Megaforce and their SUPER Seasons!
I'm so happy that the George Lopez show experience is universal. I thought I was the only one for a while.
Well, this video made me feel old.
Wendell and Vinny plays on the royal Caribbean cruise ship programs, so being antisocial… its my favorite part about cruising 😅
I thought Glenn Martin DDS was something I made up or misremembered 😭
Brain surge wasn't on Nick @ Nite it was on regular nickelodeon.
Damn! I aged out of this video before the ad.
My first experience with Nick at Nite was watching old Roseanne and Married with Children episodes and then as got older watching the programs on Nick sister channel Tv Land.
The original Nick At Nite was so great, the corniest shows ever. Loved it as a kid. Yes I am old.
knowing about Dan Schneider stuff then watching the Wendell and vinnie clips….😅
