  • This golf lesson shows you how to create a consistent golf swing. It takes place at the driving range so that Danny can run you through an entire practice session from learning how to build a consistent golf swing, learning how to practice it and then learning how to take it to the course so you don't have to think of a million things.
The simple golf drill is one of Danny's favourites as it really helps to promote a great feel in the golf swing.
Its great fun to go out and buy the latest TaylorMade golf irons, Ping golf irons, Callaway golf irons or Titleist golf irons hoping it will help you play better golf but learning to get the most out of your golf swing first its the key to consistency.

    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On TH-cam and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

I practiced this swing drill several days since my last round of golf. Before my round today, I took 20 balls on the driving range to warm up. I started with the take away motion, then added the club, then hit the ball. Used my wedge. Started horrible. Repeated with 7 iron, then same with 5 hybrid then driver. During my round, before Each shot, I focused the two “boxes” the technical and hitting box, and trusted the process. It helped me have the lowest score I’ve posted in three years since starting my retirement. 82. I play regularly. Two to three times a week year round. But, this video worked today. 😀

I don't comment every week Danny, but like all your other followers I find your weekly lessons are invaluable in helping me improve my techniques. I really enjoy putting the learning points into practise and the resultant consistency which they produce. It makes a round so much more enjoyable! Many thanks for taking the time to produce these lessons for all our benefit.

I have just started playing again, once a week after not playing for 8 years with following these online tutorials and just spending a little bit of time practicing the instructions given in my garden for about 30mins a week. My swing feels so much better and more consistent I still have the odd hiccup. In 5 rounds of golf it has taken 20 shots off my game hit a best ever 81 thos week. So thank you Danny Maude

Very common issue........practice to production for sure. Thx Danny. Very much liked this video. I have these issues. Sometimes in the middle of practice, I screw up all the good stuff. Have a plan and stick to it before you swing for sure. Definitely get out of my head and let the body learn. I am guilty. But I was on the right track. Take away no hips and shoulders till you get to back swing and don't try to change something midswing.

I am finding that the best way to improve my game is to practice drills like these without hitting an actual ball. Just developing a feel for swinging the club correctly, and hitting the same spot on the ground (imaginary ball) can do more good than overthinking all the lessons I've learned - just as you said in this video. Thanks again, Danny.

Took this to the course today and it was brilliant. Such a simple tip but so good. My backswing became consistent and my mind was clear. I shot 85 which is not sensational but I play off 22 so I was chuffed to bits😁

Hi Danny, just wanted to say thank you. I've been struggling with consistency and thinking a lot about how not to overthink things when actually at the gold course. I'll put this into practice and see how it goes. All the best, Ari

Love this neuro learning lark. One of the best things you've ever said on this channel is; "..drag it to lag it." My god that one phrase has really helped me dial in all of the other tips you give. My swing is just so tidy now, when my friends watch me swing they're like; "what happened?" I just smile at them and say two words; "Danny Maude".
As an aside, they're all surprised that you're English, for some reason they hear your name and think you're a Yank! :-)
Almost back to full fitness, will be back out there soon doing it the Danny Maude way :-))))

    • @rolirolster
      @rolirolster 5 ปีที่แล้ว

No worries Danny. I think it's popular because it just gives your brain/body a simple feeling to recreate rather than a set of complex instructions... and it just works! :-)

This is the most biggest drill i need to do than any other. I hope this clears my faults. I loved how you explained the causes of hooks and slices based on how you return. That's exactly what happens to me after about 9 to 10 holes or 20 mins of practice. I just need to strengthen the body with this drill to stop doing just that

Danny, it’s small mountain town in SW Colorado, about 7500 ft. We have 5 golf course within 75 miles, 3 are really nice, but only farthest one will be opened this winter. So I set up a hitting net to practice.

Danny, I have to admit I thought this one was a little weak or ho hum when I first started. Shame on me! I reluctantly did exactly what you said out of respect for your previous lessons, and it made a very impressive difference in my practice session. Thank you, sir! Keep up the good work.

Awesome video and I like the practice drill.
I've been trying to move the hips first, lower the right elbow like when you mention about the hook and go into a small squat position but this seems to remove those points from the swing.
Should I stop working on those and just do this drill or is this drill more for the arms being neutral 🤔
Sorry for my lack of knowledge and explainong things I'm new to golf and everyone seems to be teaching differently although I stick to your videos the majority of the time.
