    Thank you! This is the best video I’ve seen for this process. I just changed mine in 40 minutes using your guidance and I’m so thankful. The dealer wanted $600! So $127 for the camera I bought online, and $12 for the trim kit I picked up at Auto Zone, saved me about $450. The trim tool is a must in my opinion, especially if you’re not accustomed to removing trim. It’s such a delicate piece you’re removing so take your time. The retainer clip was a bit of a pain to get out and then back in, but I took my time and got it done with the help of a jewelers screwdriver. Thank you again! I’m so appreciative.

    Thank you so much for your instruction. I bought this 2015 Ford Explorer a year ago and the camera has never reliably worked, sometimes fine and sometimes not. This repair was so easy, you made it easy. I got the camera from ebay and in total this cost me less than $20 and the camera now seems to be working great and always comes on.

    Thank you for this video. I'm not car savvy at all and i need to replace my backup camera. Every other video shows having to remove panels and I can't risk seriously damaging my car. Do you know if this same method would work on a 2013 Ford Escape SEL?

    In San Diego California, multiple Ford dealers quoted $1,200 for this work: $500 for the camera $700 for labor on a 2015 Explorer. Ridiculous price for one camera, and this video proves it.

    I am wanting to add a back up camera to my 2014 explorer. It did not come factory with one. I am adding an aftermarket touch screen in so that we can use a camera. My question is, would the wiring still be in that location if it did not come factory with a back up camera? Looks like there is a block off plate there currently

      You'll have to run all your own wiring. And likely run a remote to trigger thre back up camera. It usually works well off the Back up light. Good luck !

    What if I want to re-route the factory rear cam to an aftermarket radio unit? Where are the RCA-In's that connect to the monitor in the head unit?

    • @hawkinstallations4764
      @hawkinstallations4764 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The factory camera is wired direct to the OEM radio. Their is no rca junction when it comes to factory equiptment. You would need to wire in a rca plug to the OEM wiring.
