Fritz is the most interesting American player since Roddick (no offense Isner). He has a great game and mind for tennis. Guess he was just sick of being mocked by the audience all through the match, explaining the post-match reaction :-D
To me it is weird to see people so easily upset about the crowd, it is more or less the same everywhere, in the AO, USO even in Wimbledon (see how the crow supports the brits and Roger against anyone). I miss the old Davis Cup with its amazing atmosphere, tennis has to be alive and heated IMO even if sometime it could be too much . We are not playing golf here.

If this was a match in Indian Wells or Flushing Meadows, the crowd would have definitely reacted similarly. Personally, I like it when the crowd gets involved, as long as it doesn't go below the belt. Maybe it's a generational thing, but Fritz seems to think that everyone is supposed to like him. It's a bit needy 🤷♂
