- Bulgaria is my favourite Eastern European country to visit. It is so bird rich. Everywhere you look there are birds and access to the land is very open.
I travel with Emil Enchev whose web site is cometobg.com/
This is the second film of three I made about the trip and I concentrate on the four drinking pool hides we visited. As we left one of the hides we realised we had been sharing space with a Sand boa. Not a large snake, but a constrictor likes its larger cousins.

Glad you enjoyed it
Really enjojed so much
Thanks.
Another fabulous video and weekend watch. Excellent stuff and certainly for variety up there with the best.
Many thanks!
Wonderful photos. And great advice. Keep going, Mike. Your videos are a real treat every Saturday morning.
I appreciate that!
Thank you Mike for a nice video. Bulgaria is a great destination for bird photography.
It really is!
Marvelous photos!
Thanks.
Again brilliant video Mike and beautiful footage of the birds bathing.👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for sharing. Wonderful images and video. Almost a year of having the OM-1 and really enjoying it. New owner (about 2 weeks) of the 150-400mm TC lens. What a great lens, but still suffering sticker shock. Looking forward to fall migration and the opportunity to give it a real workout and getting some fantastic images.
Cracking images Mike.
Thanks.
Bulgaria looks like a great location for birding!
Great video! A nice hide, but the background bushes at the end of the pool seem a bit too close, giving a somewhat busy bokeh. Therefore the photos of birds on the perches are the better ones IMHO.
In one word:stunning👍👍
Thanks.
fantastic Mike
Thanks
7:20 :) People: Do you see the glass half empty or half full? Me: It's completely full. Half air, half liquid.
Brilliant work, and highly entertaining. Thank you, Mike!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What beautiful pictures they are so lovely.
Thank you for sharing them with us all.
You are so welcome!
Thanks Mike! This was a very inspirational video. That hide/pool set up is terrific -- and your images are superb!
Glad you liked it!
Excellent video again Mike love the way you can do slow motion video, I'd love to see a video from you how to set up your camera for this type of video, thanks for sharing 👍🏼
Great suggestion!
The photos and videos are a treat. Thank you for such wonderful content 👍👌
My pleasure 😊
Wonderful video shots of the birds in flight. I actually like the bedraggled flight shots I think it adds something away from the perfect looking groomed birds.
Many thanks!
Nice video Mike. What a fantastic set up. Beautiful footage of the birds bathing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for sharing that lovely video, reminds me to get on and build my drinking pool.
The hardest part is the rear edge. Very difficult to get it looking attractive.
Great video. I now think my granddaughter must have some Corn Bunting genes.
Must be something to do with the food they eat.
Great images as usual. Did you see many Raptors?
No buy much time was spent inside hides with restricted views of only what we were photographing.
Fantastic.
Many thanks!
Great to be so close to the Shrike a distant shot normally here in the UK . Wonderful photos 👍
Wonderful setup, wish it worked so well in the U.K.
Great video, looks like something i need to make…. It really looks affective! Very nice shots.. have a good day!
Works best in warm countries.
Another fantastic video. It was like watching a bird fair!! And a great learning experience as always. BTW into 4:49 of Your video, did You catch a Bee in flight towards the lower left of the image? Looking forward to the next one in the series.
Super video and great photos/video. This makes me want to try the RAW burst mode on my R7. Thanks!
You should!
Nice, any contact information (website, etc.) of the hides?
Yes its in the description under the video.
Now, English is not my first language, but I thought the correct term was venomous snake rather than poisonous. But maybe I'm wrong?
You are correct, but ask 1000 Englishman to pick up a snake and I would guess 800 would ask if it is poisonous. Same as most would call a mosquito bite a bite even though it isn't.
@@MikeLaneFRPS well, luckily in Danish there's only one term: Giftig! (This is also the term in German, I believe). So whether it's snakes, berries, mushrooms or remarks, it's the same word.
Mosquitos don't bite in Danish, they sting. Whether that's technically true, I don't know, because bees and wasps sting too, although it's a totally different thing.
@@MikeLaneFRPS ask 100 Danes to pick up a snake, and most likely they wouldn't ask any questions, but simply say NO. I know I would.
No is the second thing an Englishman would say.
