With this great episode you paid homage to a beautiful mysterious bird of prey - the great grey owl. This bird is the provincial bird of my home province. Due to its somewhat nomadic behavior it is a bird hard to track down in my area but two days ago I could take some pictures of a great grey owl again. Thank you very much for sharing and all the effort you put into this episode, needless to say that all your stills and footage are very fabulous.
Thank you so much Peter and Thank you for your kind comment. 🙏😀🙏😀. Yes, you never know where they are because they are nomads. we set up platforms and hope they breed there and it has been successful.
Gorman, thank you & Lars for your video & beautiful owl images. Fighting the mosquitoes & braving the cold weather to accomplish your mission. Well done. Cheers & safe travels.😊
Thank you so much Jeffery and Thank you for you kind comment. 🙏🙏😀😀. Yes, the mosquitoes were a challenge when you stand still for so long. Have a good time.
Amazing documentation of great gray owl family. Greetings from southern Poland, where you can observe a slightly smaller but equally beautiful ural owl.
Thanks for the info Zipi and very nice to hear from Poland. 🙏🙏😀😀. In a way, Poland has become my second country. I often visited Poland in my work as an IT technician. Poznań. Since then I have been to Białowieża seven times.
Great video and photographs, as always, Göran. The Great Grey Owl is a wonderful bird. God jul og jeg ser frem til neste video. Norsk men jeg vet du vil forstå meg..😊 The word you were looking for in English (“hard snow”) is hail 👍
Thank you so much again Swawek and Thank you for you kind comment. 🙏🙏😀😀. Yes, the mosquitoes were a challenge. Some days it was not possible to eat a sandwich because there were too many mosquitoes.
Tack Lars-Göran. I år var ett bra år och jag kände till 21 revir. Vi följde tre häckningar men mestadels två. På så sätt lärde vi oss deras beteende och då får man bättre material att jobba med. Ha det bra och Tack.
So nice :) I just love these owls. Looking forward to 2025 nesting season already in May and June. We have unusually many Northern hawk-owls this winter, how about in Swe this year?
Thank you so much and Thank you for your kind comment. 🙏🙏😀😀 Everything indicates that 2025 will be a good year for the owls. We don't have so many hawk owls down here in southern Sweden this year.
Stunning images and video. Does the Great Gray’s eye’s make a good target using Z9 bird mode? Did you use single point or larger focus box when they were flying?
Thank you Steve and Thank You for you kind comment. 🙏🙏😀😀. I used larger focus box, I think it's custom settings 19x11. At least it is the biggest box if you exclude the entire screen.
@@Halmstadfoto🙂yes it was my one of best encounter. I like to see wildlife and bird videos in Sweden from your channel. have a nice Christmas already now.
fantastic pictures😍😍😍
Thank you again Jean and Thank you for your kind comment. 🙏🙏😀😀

Gracias de nuevo Abel y sí, a veces hay una luz increíblemente hermosa temprano en la mañana. Nunca está realmente oscuro en una noche de verano.

❤very nice fotos and movies🦉 I am surprised you can shoot it without hiding nor using camouflage 👍🏼
Thanks. 🙏🙏😀😀 They are totally fearless birds. It's just a matter of not getting too close when they have young. Then they can attack.
So nice :) I just love these owls. Looking forward to 2025 nesting season already in May and June.

Seriously beautiful photos (and video). Were the 600 mm enough or did you also use DX mode?
Thank you so much and Thank you for your kind comment. 🙏🙏😀😀 It was enough with 180-600 but a lot is shot with 400 f/2.8. No Dx mode.
