I can not for the life of me figure out what the value of this calendar is supposed to be🤣 It appears to be better than I originally thought which is great! Unfortunately it seems that we are missing a little bit of the promised product. But let me what you guys think and if you can figure out what the value is!! Love ya💖
But when you add up the value of the actual products it’s well over $90+ which is great but I am wracking my brain trying to figure out the 20% value they advertised! Like how did they come to that number??😂

I actually think the spatula as the final day makes sense for this calendar because some of those products were so small that after using them for a few days you'll need the spatula to scrape the rest out.
It should have come with a hammer and a set of pliers, too, since they're not designed to be opened like that. Its a massive design flaw, scraping out the leftovers would have been a perfect use for the spatula.
The puppies on the heating blanket has me smiling. I have a husky mix and she doesn't believe she's a snow dog. She cuddles on those heating blankets like she's never been warm in her life.

Growing up (which was the only time I ever had advent calendars) we always did them as a countdown to Christmas. (Inverse numerical order.) Not that it mattered much because every day was the same piece of chocolate, lol!
I really want Alex to get those Sterilite containers and organize what she’s gotten from subscriptions+ advents so we can truly know how many of these products are serial subscription products 😭😭

I love glow recipe. It's expensive, and there's so much to try, so for me, this calendar has value. The tiny bottles are called glow babies, and they sell them in build-your-own kits and a full set of all the babies. It's their first year doing a calendar! Apparently it sold out so fast that there's a waiting list for another run of them...they're sending them out in March 😂
Don't feel bad lol I have masters degrees in biochemistry and biochemical engineering, very sciency and maths based degrees.......im mathematically dyslexic (dyscalculia) 😂 somehow I managed to pass with flying colours at the top of my classes and I still don't know my times table and I HATE numbers
You should do one giant video of various advent calendars, if you have filming, editing time for that. 😂 I would definitely sit down and watch an hour long + video of you unboxing a bunch of calendars. Otherwise I'll continue watching them until you're done with them lol. I love your videos, and never miss one. 😊

Who counts DOWN on an advent calendar? They're supposed to match up to the day of the month, which means counting UP - at least for 24/25 day ones, 12 day ones is different because that would be from Dec 26th thru Jan 6th which is the traditional '12 days of Christmas' (Jan 6th is Epiphany, the day the 3 wise men were said to have arrived at the manger with their gifts)

I really like the idea that their calculated value excludes the trial sizes and merch. It's like those are a gift, on top of the 20% off the larger products.
I always keep Christmas decorations and our little tree until my Birthday in February, so I'm more than grateful for advent calendar unboxings to keep up the festive spirit!
I love Glow Recipe. Dont necessarily know if some of their products actually do anything (like the vitamic C brightening serum or avocado retinol mask) but the scent of the watermelon products are nice & the moisturizers/serums feel nice (if not slightly sticky) on the skin. They do keep upping their prices, which I can understand on one hand but on the other, we dont get a lot of product for the money (imo) so for ME, it is a luxury brand that I only get if I have the extra money. If I actually saw improvement in my skin, Id def justify buying their products more. The toner is my favorite, for sure. Edit: incredibly disappointing that you dont even get to use all the product in those tiny spray tubes, assuming they arent lying about how much is in each tube. For a company that took away the plastic spoons in the clay mask boxes, that are actually useful for spreading product without using your hands, they sure use a lot of plastic packaging, that you have to basically destroy if you want to open & use every bit of product...this wasnt as good as it's made out to be, I think...
Seriously?! Taking away applicators and then using a c-ton of plastic for 5ml samples. 🤦 Greenwashing who and virtuesignalling much, eh? I didn't have an opinion on GR before this video but this one thing made me put them on my naughty list for sure.
I double loved the banana soufflé cream this line had first. When they discontinued it I decided ok I’ll try the plum plump. I have combo skin that goes more oily and it was a nightmare. It sat on top of my skin and looked like an oil slick. Other people swear by it. Just like any other product, different skin types get different results. But it’s made me hesitant to try anything else from them.
This is why I hate getting cream products in containers that can't be opened! Cuz I'm definitely that person who busts out the tiny spatula to scrape every last bit of whatever it is out. At least with a squeezy tube i can easily cut it open!

That could be some hidden value if you then go back and buy the full size. You can refill it from that I use the watermelon skin care stuff. I am in love with the face mist and how it smells. I use it all the time

Those little serum pump things last me a while since I only need one or maybe two pumps. I have been using the firming one to try it for almost two weeks and it is just feeling a bit light now. A little goes a long way with this brand. At least for me
the body cream is so good though. i received a sample in an ipsy box and it is probably one of my favorite lotions. a little goes a long way and it does hydrate very well. I'm a nurse and my hands are so dry from washing them all the time and this body cream brings them back to life lol

I’ve grown to love Glow Recipe, but they’re NOT a brand that usually offers any real discounts or sales. They’re a bit pricey. My finicky skin really likes their products, so I just buck up & pay the $$$, but I’m not surprised this calendar was just so-so, value-wise. I’m on my 2nd rebuy of the avocado serum & plum moisturizer, and I love both! I’ve got dry, sensitive skin, that’s prone to redness, and both work really well for me.

Woooow the ending was a TWIST. I have some of the minis that I use for travel but I always thought quite a bit came in them since I’m still using them after at least 10 trips. The only explanation I can think of is maybe the products aren’t measured by volume but by weight?
I think we can do advent calendars all year round because I want to know if they are any good before December and so I can circle them out before I go to buy one in December or November.

Their mini sets average around $38 at Sephora. They last a while with regular use too. The value is over $100. Good deal, imo.

Woooow the ending was a TWIST. I have some of the minis that I use for travel but I always thought quite a bit came in them since I’m still using them after at least 10 trips. The only explanation I can think of is maybe the products aren’t measured by volume but by weight?
I think we can do advent calendars all year round because I want to know if they are any good before December and so I can circle them out before I go to buy one in December or November.
