Hey guys! So this advent calendar is worth a reported $550 but as you will see, especially if you watch the overview at the end, that most of the items are samples and minis. I am definitely happy I bought it on sale and I think that makes it a lot more worth it! I do get a little ranty about a super expensive tiny pot of cream (sorry about that) but I do like that there are a few full size lipsticks! Let me know what you guys think about the value of this calendar and if its something that you think is worth the money! Love ya💖

i genuinely think that ultra expensive beauty products are just a tax on the rich. There is no way a cream thats 440$ for 1.6 oz is doing anything remotely close to that value
I like how you laid everything out from the advent calendar in this video. Seeing it all together like that really gives a better sense of everything in the calendar. This was a flop, in my opinion!
As someone that has worked in customs and logistics for a while for different companies, I can tell you that no company that I have ever worked with attaches a value to their samples. That means it has literally a 0 dollar value because you cannot sell it. I am so tired of these companies acting like they can attach values to stuff that they would have just gave off a samples it's so wrong
Ok, the mini perfume bottles are SO cute. It would be cool if a perfume retailer (or Scentbird?) did a mini perfumes advent. The small bottles are just previous.
I think all the colors you "dont like" on you, actually look really good! Especially that kinda nudey one - if you put on a darker lipliner, i think it would be gorgeous!
Jen Luv talked about how she mixes her lipstick products. If it’s too bright she adds a brown. Every time you talk about a lip product being too bright I always think “she should add some brown to that”. lol.
Yeah, Jen does it so often she even came out with her own “line” of lippies from Ofra that are meant to be used as mixers! Lol. I don’t think Jen’s capable of just wearing one lipstick at a time! 🤣
You should literally make gift baggies of all these samples and things you don’t want and just give them to guests who come over to your home on their way out 😂
I agree! An entire calendar filled with samples is rude. Anyone who spends $400US on a face cream is out of their blooming mind! And in credit card debt. Yikes!!!
This YSL calendar isnt worth more than $69.99. Even that might be too much considering all the free sample size items in it. Many of these companies need to take some pointers from the P. Louise Advent Calendar. That calender was the bomb! ...and worth the spend! 💖✨

As someone that lives mostly off of high end SAMPLE size mascaras: that's a good mascara and a tiny tube does go a long way if you want definition without looking like you were trying to have falsies while having run out of falsies and trying to compensate with mascara - I rarely bother with more than a single layer
My three year old grandson and I are watching this together. He said “ooo Grammie those tiny bottles would be good in my play kitchen. “ the child has a point. It’s like very expensive little toys for children’s play sets.
I love watching these videos every year! I think it would be a cool idea if once all the advent calendars are done if you picked your favourite items from the different calendars and did a full face of make up, maybe while discussing your fav/least favourite parts of each advent calendar (or really anything! lol)

I love YSL scents but I'd never buy this advent calendar. I hate those open mirrors so easy to break in my purse. The purse size perfumes start at $50 but even if you count those I just don't see this being worth $550 let alone the "value" price. But I love watching Alexandria open them.

NGL you putting out videos several days in a row has got me through my recovery from dental surgery. I feel sorry for you that you cant get some of the calendars we get in the UK because our "drug store" advent calanders are often very entertaining and the ones ive had are often worth the money.
I just got to open the first "House" of my Rituals calendar! I was in for a big suprise as the whole calendar started out with DIY where you put lights in and all the doors are cute small houses and trees and you make a winter village out of them!!!!
YSL eye shadows are really good, too. It’s a shame they didn’t put a small quad in at LEAST! And for a $400 calendar I would expect at least one of the other items from their holiday line, not just the mirror.
I love YSL lippies, but this calendar is a pass. They do have great eyeshadow quads and pretty holiday sets, that really should have been a final day. I recommend the oil lipstick for sure, they go on sheer but somehow pigmented and are gorgeous. If you go buy one at the mall they'll give you a bunch of samples of all that other stuff free o'charge!
Maybe not the pinks, but I think most of the lipsticks look great on you. With your dark hair I think you could rock a bright red. And also terracotta/brownish shades. Go for it! ❤

12:48 when I use lipsticks and stuff too my throat does that but I've noticed that it doesn't when I use pure beeswax and things without Vaseline type products idk if it correlates but that's just what I've noticed
I love advent season! I don’t know if anyone has suggested but maybe the items your unsure of the color will work for you use a small disposable Wands to just test it and then you could still give to friends without contamination!

It is very frustrating to see that these "luxury" calendars tend to be full of samples with the odd full size item tossed in. I'm sure for people who only get the one calendar as an annual treat or whatever it must be hugely disappointing. Speaking of fluffy mascara wands, I just got the Too Faced Damn Girl mascara to try from Ulta's black friday sale and I have never seen a bigger, fluffier mascara wand in my life! It's almost comically large, but it's definitely worth a try when it's on sale🤗
I think the first lipstick and the more brown one looked really good! And you can definitely add a lip liner or gloss to change the color a little bit to make it something you like better.
You had mentioned that you live black opium because it's warm puh-lease try by the fire mason margiella. black opium is one of my favorites too, I find it's a bit more floral so I like the mason margiella for holidays :)))

Quick note about perfumes and colognes--the label doesn't refer to the gender of who would traditionally wear it, but the concentration of oils. Perfume has the highest amount by volume, and cologne has the lowest (which may be why they're used as aftershave so often). Eau de toilet is somewhere between the two.
Monsieur big mascara is $15 full size and like $8 for the sample size at Ulta right now. But u need to act fast cause I don’t know how long. Been tempted to get me the waterproof one. Yeah the regular and the waterproof ones are on sale for $15. That is half the price. Can’t beat it. One of my favorite mascaras

I think the first 3 shades of lipstick you tried on looked great on you! With the tiny pot of cream- I say, challenge accepted! I would love to know if someone would actually start seeing results from that amount. If so, that would explain why the full size is $400. I love getting tiny perfume! Sadly, I'm kind of bummed at the price vs. value. FORTUNATELY, there aren't any rhinestone stickers, keychains, or hair bobbles, though!😅

I think the first 3 shades of lipstick you tried on looked great on you! With the tiny pot of cream- I say, challenge accepted! I would love to know if someone would actually start seeing results from that amount. If so, that would explain why the full size is $400. I love getting tiny perfume! I don't wear it often enough, and with such a variety, you can make it last a long time.
