Not total cost but pretty close! maybe 7 to 8k in parts. Just heat NO AC. and you keep original steering box and subframe! Last thing this car needs is a TUNE! Won't be uploading awhile so stay safe everyone and thank you for the views T . T
Looks a bit rough, but I'm sure it's a blast to drive! I'd love to do the same to my '84 500SEL, but I'm sure my local Mercedes club would have me shot at sundown.
That’s cool lol. I had a 83 240d that I got for 800 that drove me from Houston to Fort Worth a good 6 times with no issues. Had bought it to LS swap it but ended up letting a friend have it, I regret getting rid of it.
I heard that you have to change the steering box to a rack and pinion system to clear the ls engine. Did you have any clearance issues with fitting the ls engine?
Good afternoon Can you tell me how you managed to do the driveshaft hook to the transmission since the rear differential is offset ? Any vibration issue ? Thank you
There is some vibration but it might by transmission mount. I might need to get a cv joint zeppra driveshaft to compensate. I used a single driveshaft. The other LS swap is 2 piece and I might get a custom 2 piece for it
@@leesgarage7 does the two piece driveshaft on your other swap any different as far as performance/vibration? What starter did you use to help clearances?
I have a 450SLC and your demonstration of the original acceleration is probably still a little quicker than the original actually was, these were not fast cars. Haha
@Lee's Garage Maybe. I've always been a JDM guy, but since my Nissan Figaro is done, I picked up a cheap SLC for a new project in the mean time. I honestly didn't consider a swap until I watched your videos, it looks do-able, even if pretty labor intensive.

What would you charge me to do this same install on my r107?
I'll charge too much 😂 at least 10k with working ac.
No more ls swaps for me lol 😂

I used a small type denso. The smallest one on eBay .
I haven't driven the 2 piece yet. The swap is on progress I bought it from a subscriber
What do you think about the stock engines sound though
It's okay. Just not as loud because of less power.

Yes alot quicker but now you have options for up to 1000hp with the LS motors 😂. 150hp crank vs 278 whp

Yes but it's worth the work! 2jz will fit nicely too! Someone did it but no video on it....
I knew it was fast as soon as I heard that Ouwee
do you still have the car?
Yes I do!!!
Do you have a shop ? I would pay for you to do. I have zero skills...
I don't. I'll make a tutorial video on how to do it.
Where the video at?
Which one? Busy with other cars right now. I will post a video next week
