great review but everyone seems to forget to mention that if you TAP the SYM key you get a quick access to the virtual keyboard I use them both . Use it or not it is an option and people are surprised when they know its possible
It's a shame there will not be any more. At least for now anyhow... I wonder if it's still OK to buy one. Or if the price will go down to get rid of old stock from TCL before 31st August?
636 is pretty similar to 660 performance wise, but $400? how is that going to make things better compare to key 2. you better off using a 630 or 450 and get down to 300, around the Nokia 6 & moto g6 market.
appleache Hum, those Motos and Nokias don't have a physical keyboard last time I checked. The feeling of typing on real keys is much more enjoyable and noticeable than having a processor that opens apps .2 seconds faster
You pay for the brand, and you also pay for the physical keyboard. Because there is no other device like that on the market, the phone will be a bit overpriced.
@@Alexander0189 well i don't use blackberry but atless they going on their own path same with sony who i think are left that doesnt copy others phone company with the notct ect..
@@Ryanlexz ye I get that, having your own identity as a company is good. But blackberry simply refuse to follow the market. Ye fair enough they wanna stick to their guns and keep making phones with keyboards etc and not the high end specs. But nobody is gonna go looking a new top end phone and pick a blackberry over the others, unless they want a keyboard. It just baffles me, it's almost as if blackberry are a stubborn child who don't wanna give in 😂 if they made a flagship phone with the SD 845...top end camera etc, a design more like what's already on the market, no plastic outdated keyboard, I'd honestly consider them but they won't because they're Blackberry.
Alex1989m you just don't get it do you? There's more to a smartphone experience than the damn processor. I enjoy my LE much more than I would any slab of glass. All these slabs offer virtually the same overall experience and all suck for precise and comfortable typing, which is something this phone excels at.
Hi I have blackberry key one. And I facing a fingerprint problem after I update the software to android 8.1, it is not available as an option in settings. I contact with the company but no value.
I’m getting it because I honestly need a new phone and I’m tired of Apple. Also, it’s cheap and has everything I need and looks good, so Key 2 le it is.
iRightsReserved I’m looking into getting this phone. I currently have the iPhone SE and wanna try something different. how’s the blackberry le2 so far?
this is simply a better buy nobody is going to game on a blackberry anyways and the 636 is good enough for al the other thimgs that you would want to do with your phone
I think this phone is just the right balance of features, design, and affordability for those of us who love physical keyboards. I hope they release the Atomic version in the US!
I really enjoy my Key2. It’s super satisfying to type on a keyboard again. The LE version is not for me, as I do enjoy the 6GB of RAM and the 660 processor but this is interesting.
Frenzy Kidd it's 449, and it has a keyboard which actually makes typing on a smartphone ENJOYABLE. That's worth the price premium to many people out there
At that price, I'd get the LG Q7+ from MetroPCS for $99. It has a 16mp camera, 64 gigs of ROM, and 4 gigs of RAM. No, it doesn't have the keyboard or the 636, but is the keyboard and 636 worth an extra $400?
John you can not compare a keyboard phone to a non keyboard phone. It's not the same. It's apples and oranges. They have their own lane they are in. Now if LG makes a keyboard phone competitor, we will talk.
@@KoldFiyure I miss the physical keyboard. I wish all of the manufacturers would offer at least one phone with a physical keyboard. I had the BlackBerry Passport and I LOVED it. Unfortunately, full-screen phones are the hottest trend which makes purchasing a phone with a physical keyboard at such a high price kind of hard to swallow. I want this phone to succeed, and I really want one, but I can't fathom spending that much for it. Then again, I am living in a fantasy land where there is an Android phone with a physical keyboard that doesn't push me further into debt than I already am. Haha. :)
Dude and I can feel you on all of this, but I feel like it's gotta get off the ground again first. It can't do it without our support. And I'm all for it. We need to force variation in this industry. We should have an iPhone with a physical keyboard or a galaxy S 1 million. Etc.
@@truthwinseverytime8805 that's great. It looks like its better value than the Key2. Just losing the track pad really. Never had a BlackBerry before. The typing must be fun

If 650$ was too much for the KEY2 than the 500$ price tag for the LE variant of the KEY2 is also too much. Why? because 150$ less gets you less bang for your buck. You lose the scrolling keyboard feature, you lose the higher storage capacity, you lose the metal body finish, you lose the higher specs for the processor and I'd bet the ram itself is also running at a lower frequency, you lose a lot honestly with this drop down in price so much so that 150$ in price difference doesn't seem like a ton when you're only comparing these two phones together. BUT when you're comparing both of them to a phone like the OnePlus 6 or hell even the new Xiaomi Poco Phone ...well....black berry greatly overpriced their devices, both of them.
499?? Why?? Why would anyone buy this. Really bad CPU, plastic body, downgrade in everyway from the key 2 which itself was overpriced...just get a bloody one plus 6
Plastic body means better antenna reception, and mid range CPU means solid battery life. I'm typing this on my KEY2 and wouldn't even bother typing on a piece of glass
It's a 350$ phone anything beyond is worthless... A mid tire processor 4 GB ram an average camera running older version of Android. No good reason to buy BB still
This phone literally only worked because the buttons had the swipe capabilities. Bump up the price $10, and make a bit less profit (if it's really that expensive). They suck...
...let's bring out the old slider phone!
Miss it too. A sturdier Priv would be a killer.
@@ivanguenno581 I loved the actual buttons on the keyboard
I'm surprised BlackBerry is not making a 2nd generation Priv.

Keyboard dude you will pay for that keyboard. Your usual logic wont work here as this phones caters a specific customers

Blackbarry the only phone that doesn copy others

Nowbody is buying that Key2 LE Paperweight!
Hi
I have blackberry key one. And I facing a fingerprint problem after I update the software to android 8.1, it is not available as an option in settings. I contact with the company but no value.

This is EXACTLY what I did this week and for the same reason. I wanted to try a different phone. Hopefully you'll love it like I do.

Wesley vandeurzen at lest it’s more affordable
It doesn't have the scrolling via keyboard feature. That is a complete deal-breaker for me
More reasonable price 🙂
I'm getting keyone but gotta admit the key2 keyboard looks so much better.
Ooga Booga do you recommend the keyone?
guys pls do tell.... size of screen is 4.5 does is include type pad too?? or excluding typepad?
what's the total size of it including keypad
I just got mine, key2 wouldn't work on Verizon bit this version does. So best choice for me.
Blackberrys remind me of the futuristic technology people imagined in old scifi movies
When is the Priv2 coming?? 🤔
so LE = Less Expensive?
Less expectation 😁
I think this phone is just the right balance of features, design, and affordability for those of us who love physical keyboards. I hope they release the Atomic version in the US!
499$ nope, that's all most one plus territory, for 300$ it would be a steal for IT folks and smaller business guys

Nice but so sad to hear that they stop production, will it affect its function?
Priced right. Atomic looks great. This phone will find its public.
LE is for Less Expensive?
Honestly this should be $350 and $400. I guess BlackBerry can overcharge since they are the only manufacturer to still do physical keyboards??
Maybe the cost of the physical keyboard is actually more than having a flat out giant screen.
NFC?
LE short for LamE
How about less than 300
my faforite blackberry. but bb key 2 too expensive
With specs like xiaomi redmi note 5 and 2x the price? I'll pass.. it's not worth it just to have a physical keyboard on the phone with extra security
It's not for you. Buy the phone you like. Blackberry is not selling this phones for the likes of you
I want balckberry priv 2
If it was $200, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
This phone is not for you then. Simple as that
Key 2 LE last edition from bb
This or Poco F1 at 300$?
Poco F1 absolutely destroys this, no contest. Only get the BlackBerry if you absolutely NEED a physical keyboard.

Sd 636 at 499 bucks😂😂

64GB Iphone for 1000 bucks 😂😂😂
Dark Wolf That iPhone aleast you ain't getting old chip ware
now make one with Snapdragon 4xx variant and 720p screen, sell it for $180.. i'll buy it..
Make it a 1080p screen at $200, and I'll buy it. Maybe 2 so I can have a backup. Lol.
I was thinking $399... Less appealing at $499 for sure...
IT IS 399 FOR A 32 GB VARIANT AND 450 FOR A 64 GB VARIANT OF THE KEY 2 LE.
