I had forgotten how much these characters and music comforted me.....father gone at 6, mother gone at 12....somehow these fictional characters understood the incredible loss that I felt along with the music that soothed us both... I truly miss all of it, though I realize its' only TV, it still blesses to have at least someone to grieve with...... Semper Fidelis B
No matter how many times I see that episode, Mike's funeral, the song, the 21 gun salute, the casket Gibbs worked on..... it always gets me. Just that it's Franks is emotional enough, but the rest, especially that Boxer Rebellion song, always makes me cry. Great scene.
I am 60 years old and my father was a naval officer in the British Navy and served on an aircraft carrier during the time where a three deployment was not unusual. For most of my formative years we had a map in our dining room with a pin where my father was allowed to report his position. My relationship with my father was defined by his letters to me. I totally broke up when the young boy was able to see his mother while she was on deployment. I realise that this was a fiction for TV but it was bringing to life for many young people the reality of the service done by one or other of their parents for their country which meant that they could not always be there for them. It took me a llong time to come to terms with this myself and to forget the pain that I suffered missing my father and to get to know him once I had become an adult. I shed tears watching this video, and I am unashamed for doing so. Thank you for creating it and thank to all those who serve their country with honour, whoever and wherever they are.
A great list for sure. When Gibbs met Shannon and he found both someone to love and settle him, and someone to give him a code to live by. And you see the complete dedication he has to her from that moment on … it’s beautiful. When you realize Gibbs had been quietly building his old friend’s casket all along - taking the time to do something so lovely for a friend knowing that he’ll never see it, but knowing that he’ll be resting for eternity inside a final gesture of love and respect. That was heartbreaking and profound and said so much about Gibbs. And finally, Tony going out of his way as always to do the right thing - a thing he didn’t want to do in the first place but knew he had to do right. You see how truly sweet and caring a person he is - the happiness he gets from making an unhappy person happy even for a moment. And then that shot of Ziva choking up - the realization right there that she loves him. You can see it. He’s her guy. At the end of that awful year, being captured and left to die by her father, there’s Tony just being Tony. Always. That scene made a grown ass man cry.
This is one of the most important reasons why I can't wait to see an episode, any episode! Honor, duty, respect and heart. And the reason I still think of myself as a Marine!
So true, every time there is a killer song song added to a series, I end up with tears flowing! Especially the episode with Taye Diggs and the song Hallelujah!!!! LOVED IT!!!!!
Just seen this for the first time today. All I can say is it had me in tears from the end of #10 right to the end. I'm still feeling very emotional whilst typing this out. Thank you for doing the video.
This has become. by far, my most favorite TV series. The characters all have a special place in my heart. And when one is killed off, it feels like I've lost a family member.
One of the best shows ever on TV. I am older than Gibbs and younger than Mike Franks but I know them both in many men today. Thanks great video and good work on the songs.
As I approach 40 with no kids I painfully realise the paths we take or do not take in life. I am however fortunate to have had good people young and old in my life. May you continue to do so.
Thank you for this! They are all great but the song by Blue October, Kangaroo Cry in "Faith" ALWAYS makes me cry! Especially the look on Ziva's face when Tony gives Delores the doll.
This music is pretty powerful in its own right. But when you see the scene in which it was used, you get the context. Even more powerful and emotional. Thank you for sharing.
Keep Me In Your Heart that was played at Jackson Gibbs Funeral should have been on that list as well! Gets me every single time as well as Mike Franks! Thank you for sharing 😊
Every time I see a military funeral or casket coming home ~ my heart breaks and the tears flow. I love Lady Antebellum and now the song "You are not alone" WHEW.
not only are the songs are comforting but it's the fact the characters make it comforting as well. The one song that is comforting is 'Nothing More' and I believe that that's the episode where Gibbs father died. This show gives me great comfort and i love it so much. Gibbs is like a father figure to everyone and it shows how much he cares for his team. NCIS is not only a team but also a family and honestly it's so comforting to see them play their part
Outstanding compilation, liv g. As long as I've watched the show I am always moved by how well they picked the right song for the right moment, the majority of which are so off the beaten path by somewhat unknown bands outside their particular genre. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with 20:27 of time well spent.
You can say that again, the song that played with Vance's wife's funeral, superimposed on Ziva doing her thing in Israel with her father dead caught me unawares. Such a beautiful power there is in music
#1 Deloris and the Cherry Pie doll. I grew up poor and never had the nice things other girls my age had. So, I feel everything I imagined Deloris felt when she opened the box. I don't know the name of the actress portraying Deloris, but she really made me feel what I guess she was feeling.
Season 19 is in the air, and now we have Hawaii too, started with Jag, then our loving NCIS, then Los Angeles, New Orleans. Donald P. Bellisario; Don McGill
I stopped watching the show long time ago, but watching old videos like this makes me remember why I loved it so much. The stories and the characters were so good, it almost felt like they were my family and friends.
Thank you for this. Brings back a lot of enjoyable memories for this show. It's true that NCIS doesn't use music except to advance the story, unlike CSI, which turns every episode into a music video. It always burns me up when people confuse the two franchises. They are NOTHING alike.
These are all so great. Reminds me why I loved this show so much. I don’t watch it much anymore now that most of the original cast is gone. But such a well written show that really is one of the few that had me truly emotional connected to the characters
I LOVE THIS VIDEO!! Love the one with Gibbs's barber and when Ziva is in the bar. Hello World is great. Caught by the Light and Not Alone are my all time favorites!!!!!!!
That was beautiful work thank you for the best NCIS video tribute reminds us when the darker days come if we stick together through the darkness we will pull through by standing together and bring back the brightness .
I've only seen up to S8 E12 but I fell in love with the music they played with Kangaroo Cry in S8 E1 so I guess we can agree on it being great. Then I found this after listening to Off I Go in S8 E12 but hey I agree with the emotional stand point of this video. Thanks man.
#4 and #5; can't decide which is the best. The fit between the poetry of the lyrics, the music and the episode story line is awesome for both. Thanks for putting this together.
My eyes still got watery... The Feels... They were all so Beautiful. I like your list very much. I could make a list and not get any strikes I would do my Personal Favourites too. Wouldn't be much different apart from my Personal #1 would be your #6. I can only imagine that storyline in real life and that music was such a great song. It looked like to me Cote De Pablo was seriously gonna cry at one point. I need to make a tribute for NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles, Each season would be great but not sure ha. NEED TO MAKE MORE TRIBUTES!
Omg I found it so cute when Tony looked straight at Ziva as well as Tim and Gibbs because seeing the two people with the baby. I found that super cute, I never really liked Jeanne anyway xxx
#CaptainSwanForLife XoXoX That wasn’t the point, he wasn’t in love with Ziva yet. XD Jeanne told Tony to choose between her and his life as an Ncis Agent. So seeing that couple with their baby forming a Family made Tony realize that his family was at Ncis and that he didn’t want to lose them, so he burned Jeanne letter meaning he is letting her go.
Me too. Jeanne was freaking annoying....she didn't even apologize for accusing Tony of her dad's murder! She just walked away and he caught up to her and felt sorry she was caught in all this shit. And she hit 'em with, " was any of it real..?" Bish I- Well I was proud by the way Tony handled it. i would have been like, " Bish shay shay away. I regret meeting you too!"
@@absolute.1143 he's always liked ziva but your right that wasn't that wasn't the point..but ziva was still the reason for it cause she made him realise jeanne never liked him for him but for tony dinardo who he was pretending to be
My first ever love and I met online, we were together 8 years. Then 5 months before our wedding she gave me an ultimatum, the family I had or the one I could have. That's pretty much what Jeanne did here. If someone truly loves you they won't give you an ultimatum like that.
Thank-you! IMO, you’ve got grand taste! Truly appreciated you putting your Fave Musical NCIS Mo’s together as you have. Forgot how much I enjoy Boxer Rebellion (Even tho Gibb’s hand-home-carpenter’s coffin for Mike reminded me of Christmas with it red & green colors on his placard carvings. Another heart ache lost character on NCIS. I adored Mike’s, “Float a Cherio in it!” crack about wanting a tequila from Gibbs, early AM & just after landing in DC for the last time. (P2P)) Music has always been the Best Medicine for my life. It pulls me back to Life’s exquisite-ness when I get a little lost. I’m doing a crap-job trying to express my appreciation for you & the work, effort & thought you put into this. I should add, when I was 23, a million years ago, just a few days after my little sister died, she was going to be 21-I was dreaming, I believe I was dreaming-I woke-up gasping for breath & sobbing - I was in the process of trading my life for hers, or trying to trade my own life for hers. Phil Collins song, “Hold On” pulled me out from somewhere between Life & my aching desperation to bring her back-to being alive still. Just trying to make her not be dead anymore. Yeah, her docs kept raising her morphine, till her frail body wasn’t able to breathe anymore.... Yeah, Life ain’t for cowards, is it?!! Thank you so very much for reminding me how Extraordinarily Precious Life Is! Good, Grand, Painful, Incredible, Sad, Achingly Beautiful & every place in between there. So, rather than continuing to flub over my self, Thank-You

It sure isn't the same.. I watch Old reruns on my tablet every night., It puts me to sleep., I even love hearing their voices and anything that plays in that show. God bless them all.
#4, All We Are, is my fav for both the song and the footage, #3 for the footage, #7 for the sweet sweet moment of Gibbs and his beloved Sharron, and #1, just because those moments are SOOOOOO Sweet and cute and precious and so full of love!
Your list is good. To me, the scenes were more powerful than the song. But “Off I Go” & “Not Alone” are the two I love. But I concur w/ you about the scenes (as the best scenes) w/ Gibbs & his Dad and w/ Mike Franks. But “Someday The Rains Will Fall” by John Mellencamp should’ve been within this list. Thanks for sharing!!
Wonderful video! I'd add The Viper, from Kate's funeral as an eleventh. It totally turned the mood as they were walking away, with Gibbs looking like he was walking to the beat between Abbey and Jennie.
Awesome choices! My favorite of all time was from the end of "Homesick" (11x11) where there is a montage and the song Nothing More by the Alternate Routes is playing. I loved that song the moment I heard it and it was really a really touching ending of the episode.
I really like the scene at number four, where Tony chooses NCIS over Jeanne. Cuz he knows that they're his family now and always will be, and that it's worth more than anything in the world
Thank-you. Super job. For part 2 If I may suggest R.E.M. Everyone Hurts, and Troubled Land. I will be looking forward to part 2. Again Thank-you for a wonderful job.
I had forgotten how much these characters and music comforted me.....father gone at 6, mother gone at 12....somehow these fictional characters understood the incredible loss that I felt along with the music that soothed us both...

They have become my surrogate family and I love them almost as much as my real family.

ericha sf 8 x 12 is where Gibbs starts to build Franks coffin at the end.....
That scene made me and my friend SOB he was one of my favorite characters
Agreed. Totally miss Joe Hill. So glad that they bring him back in flashbacks.
❤
So good..

Great moments from one of the best shows in television history.
i love the fact that the son of Mark harmon played the young Gibbs talking to Shannon
That was SO COOL !!!
I never realized that until I read your coment just now. Thanks for pointing that out (11 years late).
A great list for sure. When Gibbs met Shannon and he found both someone to love and settle him, and someone to give him a code to live by. I like the song they played when Gibbs is burying his friend Franks. I cried like a baby. NCIS had some great songs in their show.
The version of Silent Night during Ziva’s shootout was an amazing piece of TV as well.
That was sung by Sinead O'Connor, great song to play every Christmas.
Oh, yeah. That is, for me is the best Christmas episode of NCIS.
mike franks funeral gets me everytime :'(
my fave musical ending is when gibbs remembers when he meets shannon.
same
i think it's even to "do what you have to for family"
It always brings a tear to my eye
I always tear 😢 up with the Shannon memory it's painful and to know they were Murdered made that worst
I had to watch this three times in case I missed anything through my tears. ❤
This is one of the most important reasons why I can't wait to see an episode, any episode! Honor, duty, respect and heart.
And the reason I still think of myself as a Marine!
Once a Marine, always a Marine. From the nephew of a departed Cold War MP NCO, Semper Fi! Oorah!
NCIS WITHOUT GIBBS-THE HEART, & THE SOUL- IS NO NCIS ANY MORE
HE'LL BE MISSED ❤❤❤
SEMPER FI
Once, Always, Marine. SEMPER FI !
i cried , i laughed and my emotion gone all over the place but i still watch these videos.
Your number one is definitely Number One! The way Delores's expression changes turns the office "witch" into a soft brown-eyed beauty is glorious!
I LOVE Ralph Waite as Jackson Gibbs!! And Mike Franks' funeral STILL requires tissues to get through for me!
Me too.
I know the feeling 😢
I was completely fine until the last one. Something about the smile on the little boy's face just killed me, and now I'm crying. Damn it!
I got to NCIS late (I think the year Cote showed up). I now watch all the time..Even the reruns on USA..Great, great show..
monex5 you got got NCIS late...... lol...I just started watching the show in January of 2020, but yea it’s a great great show
My first episode was the one where Ziva "died" so...
I got there just before the naval yard was attacked
Aela Karaminassian same
monex5 Ziva was great, so was Kate 👍🏼
:Lost" by MIchael Buble always gets me. It's the love song of Jethro & Shannon to me. ALways will be......
This has become. by far, my most favorite TV series. The characters all have a special place in my heart. And when one is killed off, it feels like I've lost a family member.

My favorite episode of all time!!!!
Shiva is my favourite, followed by Mike’s funeral. Thanks for posting, loved it, love ❤️❤️❤️ NCIS.
the bit where McGee helped get the boy to speak to his Mom broke me, super cute
The one with the burial of Mike franks was by far the most I have cried in the show besides kates death.
I also cried during ned's death
This is one of d best tv show ever, especially with d original cast, tony and Ziva, mesmerizing.
This music is pretty powerful in its own right. But when you see the scene in which it was used, you get the context. Even more powerful and emotional. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for putting this together ❤. Mike Franks funeral makes my eyes leak every time, great song 🎵
My favourite is friction in “lost boys”. Saying goodbye to a character, and Gibbs’s weakness being used against him.
Outstanding compilation, liv g.
As long as I've watched the show I am always moved by how well they picked the right song for the right moment, the majority of which are so off the beaten path by somewhat unknown bands outside their particular genre.

You can say that again, the song that played with Vance's wife's funeral, superimposed on Ziva doing her thing in Israel with her father dead caught me unawares. Such a beautiful power there is in music
Your #5 is my #1. The scene at the cemetery makes me cry everytime. Love the song and loved the character.
The Best song was at Jackson Gibbs funeral. Warren Zevon singing the last song he wrote before he passed away. A beautiful piece of music
Thank you - a great way to remember the NCIS episodes which "really" bring out the emotions.
OMG!!Just got to Mike's funeral!!Crying again!!
I've cried at all of these no matter how many times I rewatch the episodes
#1 Deloris and the Cherry Pie doll. I grew up poor and never had the nice things other girls my age had. So, I feel everything I imagined Deloris felt when she opened the box. I don't know the name of the actress portraying Deloris, but she really made me feel what I guess she was feeling.
That ending was incredible and always brings me to tears.
It's never too late to 😂wish ❤❤

I have more than once discovered awesome music because of this show. Thanks for taking the time to put together these clips!!
I agree 💯 with #1 choice♥️♥️
Thanks for sharing..good video 👍🏻
#3
12:20 You're not alone by Patty Griffin
So wonderful and sad ❤
you chose the best moments! im watching this show on prime and idk why do people my age not know about this show !!!!it deserves more love
I stopped watching the show long time ago, but watching old videos like this makes me remember why I loved it so much. The stories and the characters were so good, it almost felt like they were my family and friends.
A great selection of NCIS musical moments. Also some of NCIS' most emotional moments.
NCIS is a part of me ... Semper-fi ... LPN ...
I do agree with most of your choices, especially "Off I Go" and "Not Alone".👏
Party Smyth's rendition of Silent Night at the end of s9e11 Newborn King is amazing with that scene. I love this list though. Well done.
I always thought they picked good music for the powerful moments in this series. Thanks for posting all this.
Thanks, liv. These clips also brought back many memories of my favorite shows. It was most fun strolling down memory lane with your selections. Kudos!
Thank you for this. Brings back a lot of enjoyable memories for this show. It's true that NCIS doesn't use music except to advance the story, unlike CSI, which turns every episode into a music video. It always burns me up when people confuse the two franchises. They are NOTHING alike.
5:55 _"You can call me anything you want."_ ... _"I'm Shannon."_
😢 Too cute and nostalgic.
these were some of the best scenes in the entire series! I guess the music added that richness to it
These are all so great.
Why did you make this video? You made me cry with that scene! I am adding these songs to my playlist rn! Thank you for making it! You made my day!
Very moving all the song selections. Caught by the Light always gets to me.
All I Need By Matt Kearney, when Gibbs is reminiscing Shannon and Kelly, cause Kelly's bestfriend showed up.. damn it gets me everytime
That was beautiful work thank you for the best NCIS video tribute reminds us when the darker days come if we stick together through the darkness we will pull through by standing together and bring back the brightness .
This video made me weep. I so love the people that NCIS portrays, and I know it is acted, but the writing is so special. I love no show better
Great Job! I love NCIS and was hoping someone would have captured all those great songs they played at the end of their episodes.
sitting here watching this, for the something th time....still makes my eyes well. Thats why i love the show, as it was until everyone left.
I've only seen up to S8 E12 but I fell in love with the music they played with Kangaroo Cry in S8 E1 so I guess we can agree on it being great. Then I found this after listening to Off I Go in S8 E12 but hey I agree with the emotional stand point of this video. Thanks man.

Boxer Rebellion - Caught by the Light. The best. One of my favorites.
I liked the Kate's Funeral Dirge myself....
Wonderfull! I love it!!! NCIS is one of the best series that exist. His work was gorgeous.
Number 4 for me - awesome track and now I have 3 albums of Matt Nathanson on my ipod! Great post liv g.

I think the was posted before that episode
Always thought they have great music . Some of my favorite songs. Thank you
I honestly can not agree more , nice and well thought Playlist, spot on!!
The cold open scene and theme song change for Ducky last night was amazing. So emotional.
Thank You I enjoyed every minute of it.🙏🏾❤️
The #7, made me drop a tear due to the story behind that episode!
OMG _ you picked one of my ALL-TIME favorite moments of the show for #1 - RIGHT ON! :)
Awesome choices! My favorite of all time was from the end of "Homesick" (11x11) where there is a montage and the song Nothing More by the Alternate Routes is playing. I loved that song the moment I heard it and it was really a really touching ending of the episode.
bumblebeee68 ME TOO! That was my favorite ending ever and a totally awesome episode...
Agreed. #1..
Nice video. In my humble opinion, "Caught by the Light should be number 1!!!
Number 1 was the right choice.
I literally have these all on my favorites playlist on my phone. The ones that weren't on the soundtrack(s), I sought out specifically
I really like the scene at number four, where Tony chooses NCIS over Jeanne. Cuz he knows that they're his family now and always will be, and that it's worth more than anything in the world
I
Thank-you. Super job. For part 2 If I may suggest R.E.M. Everyone Hurts, and Troubled Land. I will be looking forward to part 2. Again Thank-you for a wonderful job.
number one makes me cry every time!!
These are great. My favorite is" If I can't Take You with me, I just won't go".
I've watched all these episodes so many times and I still feel the dust in the room every time.
Thanks for putting this together ~ I really enjoyed it...
