I'am a 72 year old retired VN army vet and I still cry when I watch this show and hear him sing. I know these show by heart as I watch the reruns for years.
Thank you to NCIS & Tay Diggs for this great episode. Above all else thank you to all the service men and women who put so much on the line to keep our country safe. God bless you and your families.
What's great about that final scene is that there are no words spoken. There is nothing that could be said, that would express what Gibbs is feeling. He yearn to not e in pain anymore. The essence of Gibbs' character is that he has never accepted his family's death. He slept on the couch not just because he couldn't sleep in his and his wife's bed, he slept there because his family lived upstairs. I honestly believe he has never been in Kelly's room since she died. When he does, that's when he accepts it. But him sleeping in the bed is the first step
I have never had a TV series moment that effected me like this one! The speech at the beginning talking about what we all need to do, done so effectively to just the best version of Halleluiah I believe I have heard. Then to end with Gibbs laying back down on the bed he hasn't laid on since his wife died. Yes, I cried.
When he says he was trying to be an empty version of who he was and goes on to say he wants to be who he is now, he is unknowingly speaking for Gibbs! Awesome!! And...here come the tears!
Thank you, NCIS Family. I balled the last ten minutes of the HALLELUJAH episode. Watched it again just now. What a wonderful way to enter Holy Week. And I love Tim and Delilah storyline. As a fifty-something woman with Cerebral Palsy, I love seeing disabled characters going about their daily lives. Kudos to both NCIS and NCISNOLA. One last thing. Love DiNozzo Sr. too. All Best, Ramsey Ann Morris Houston, TX
Hallelujah is a heart wrenching song. All my family who have passed are in the soul of this song. Thankyou to Leanord Cohen and God for this creation . Barto Uzelac
You know I love your show, but tonight episode hit home for me, it hard to talk about what we do overseas and its hard to find someone who understands what we went through. This episode hit was very special for me. Thank you for your work and I always look forward to seeing NCIS, and NCIS New Orleans. Sincerely, Cord S. US Army Vet.
I lost both legs above the knee, but I am not a veteran. I was hit in the head, stabbed and robbed and my body thrown on the railroad tracks and Am-trac ran over me. Its is very hard to tell that to people and they do not understand too...Thank you for your service and I am not scared to say I teared up during this episode.
I absolutely love this show! This is one of my all time favorite episodes. Every time I watch it it brings me to tears. From when Gibbs meets with Gunnery Sgt. Aaron Davis and you hear the music softly playing in the back ground sets the scene. Then to the shot where you see the band playing & the camera moves in close on his daughter. Bishop telling McGee what true love is to when Dinozzo, Ducky, Vance & Palmer riding off at night on their motorcycles & then finally to Gibbs sitting on his sofa, the camera moving in slowly and finally going into his bedroom to lay on the bed. All very emotional.
I like it like that especially when at the first of the song, the soldier talks about his own conflicts. It is written in the best way but I think only people who have had the same experience would appreciate that. The other parts, I agree better not be there. In total, it is wonderful. God bless all, especially people who serve their country with all they have. God bless America.
It's the song and, also, this episode deals with healing. I know that it's fictional, but it's episode's like this that contribute to my own healing. The sense of family, because I was rejected by my family from birth, and onward as I got older, with the exception of my maternal grandparents. The song is very beautiful.
I suddenly lost my wife of 43 years about a year ago who died right in front of me while on a trip for our birthdays. The last 5 minutes of this show were an epiphany for me, giving me a clear path out of my constant grief. It also provided the best version of Hallelujah that I have ever heard and have spent many hours looking for it. Hopefully someone will provide a reference to the artists or if it was done special for the episode, will release it as a track on a digital media source. It was absolutely incredible. Thank you for providing the pathway to my future. in such a meaningful way. I only wish my wife was alive to see it as well.
It's Taye Diggs singing with the MusiCorps Wounded Warrior Band. If you get a chance visit their website. It's an amazing program that started and still operates at Walter Reed.
Walter Reed does some wonderful stuff. I actually spent my military service their doing computer research at the original site. I did not know MusiCorps started there but it does not surprise me. I met my wife there at the PX which was her first job. Good and now bittersweet memories.
Today's my 1st girlfriend's death anniversary. She died of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. I held her in my arms as she painfully breathed out her last words.. "Give up one me.." She looked me in the eyes and held my hand as tight as the first day we held hands. It was as if she put all her energy left into that squeeze. She inhaled shakily, "Go find someone who isn't as sick as me." Then those tiny beeps her line makes, tiny skips of hope.. left with her. It was deafening. The flatline was scary, awful, grotesque and just horrific for me. I was mad at God. For several years or so I succumbed to drugs, alcohol and sex at ages 14 through 18. I went into rehab and got myself fixed. When I saw this episode, that song.. It made me feel all of those emotions again. And when this episode played as a re-run I just dropped down and started crying. It's so hard to lose someone. I'm 22 now and I'm going back to God. Hallelujah indeed.
I watched my wife Peggy Williams Edwards take her last breath, succumbing to cancer on April 6th. I just saw this episode on DVR tonight. Missing you Babe!
I wish I had gotten into NCIS sooner, my first time watching this episode was today on Netflix… and I kid you not, I cried too. 13 Seasons of this show and it still finds ways to make me emotional. NCIS… this show really is amazing.
To the 72 year old vn navy vet listening to this song,God bless u & thank for ur service sir! My late brother-in-law was also in Vietnam! Rest in paradise my dear brother!
Great episode and Hallelujah. The part where Gibbs laid on his bed a long time after his wife's death reminded me of my own husband's death in 2007. That was so me and made me cry because that was me for a long time after his death. Again, a great episode.
i hope this song brings God to the forefront of everyone who takes 4 mins to watch and really listen to it. i so love this song !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! enjoy my family and dear friends
I absolutely love ncis! My housekeeper's husband looks absolutely like Gibbs,so every Christmas he & my housekeeper bring me a new & different ncis t-shirt! At the same token I am going to miss ducky very much! Rest in paradise dear David McCallum!😢
What a great episode of NCIS and what made it even better Taye Diggs singing Hallelujah. Which was awesome so how can i get him singing the full version plz help me
Here's something you might find interesting. Last year in Britian's got talent, there a Welsh choir call Cor Glanaethwy & they as a choir sang the same song in Welsh mind you. If you get the chance check it out. Grant you again it's in Welsh you just might like it. i though I would throw it out there.
I wish there was a version with just the song. That was one of the best renditions of "Hallelujah" I've ever heard.
right. Besides Leonard Cohen no one does it better than Diggs. Amazing
@@olobiggs1939 Chester Bennington does a really good short version at Chris Cornell's funeral
@@olobiggs1939 Does Nick Cave do a copy?
Pentatonix rendition is fire
I agree but storyline behind it makes it. "A Veteran's trauma being undone" I'm a veteran. It makes it.

Taye Diggs has an incredible voice. He’s a multi-talented man!
Everything I hear this song I'm so externally grateful to the men & women who have served & r now serving in the military! God bless u all! 2:23

love this episode. Tay Diggs rendition of Hallelujah is awesome! an unsung hero of NCIS is their music. they put just the right songs in place.
Thank you to NCIS & Tay Diggs for this great episode. Above all else thank you to all the service men and women who put so much on the line to keep our country safe. God bless you and your families.
This is one of my favorite NCIS moments. Very powerful for a lot of the team, especially Gibbs
Yes I respect Leroy too uwu
There was one scene of the top of Jethro’s head and I caught myself thinking whoa!
There’s a new view of Jamie Lee Curtis’ hair
Same ❤

Very poignant post... This song sung by these heroes was such a touching moment.
Your comment shows depth and understanding I rarely encounter in these posts!
Taye Diggs absolutely did the perfect version of Hallelujah! What a great actor performing the most amazing song! 🥺❤️👍🏼

NCIS never ceases to amaze me. Brilliant actors, brilliant storylines and amazing scriptwriters. Well done from a fan in the UK.

Is there a way to get the two songs from this episode that the soldiers sing? Both were really good.
Who is singing this version? It is the best one I've heard.
I believe it's Taye Diggs singing, the actor playing the injured sniper.
+TheJune10m I didn't know he could sing. He is really talented..
