    After the exhaust I bet it was addictive to get more sound. I'm going long tube headers and off road x-pipe to stock muffler. Heard a few of them on here and they are loud AF when you want but still tuneable through the system from what I understand. All cats go bye bye and I have my son's to help me out with my install. That fella is a good man there, glad you were able to tip him more than he asked, that was good on you Eric.

      Forgot to add, I'm going with speed engineering brand. They are highly rated, 304 SS, and way more reasonable $$ than some of the others. We used to do headers on all our V8 muscle cars back in the day and cherry bombs right out the back, or turned down. I had a couple different cars I did. My best car back in the 80's was my 1972 Nova with the 350 automatic transmission. Had a small 4 barrel carb from the factory and after I installed the headers it would snap your neck back when I buried the throttle in the floorboards. The car probably didn't have much over 250 HP, but when it was finally able to breathe and exhale that thing came alive! It felt so fast back then, but I'm sure even my Veloster N would have destroyed it, and the Veloster didn't feel fast at all to me, just really quick.

    You should check out Randy's xhaust experts in Gastonia. They are the best in the area. I just bought an 18 SS 1LE and plan on having the same thing done to make my NPP exhaust a little louder. Hmm yours has a lot different exhaust on it from my 18 1LE. I have a huge suitcase muffler for the two inner pipes. Yours looks more like the MBRP setup

    Did I understand this correctly: those are not truly secondary cats, they are sound deafeners because the internal construction is metallic and not ceramic? So this should not be a smog issue right lol? It makes sense since there are no O2 sensors attached.

    Hey man, not sure if you’ll see this but I currently have a secondary cat delete and pulled the fuse and it sounds good, however, I’d like it slightly louder(~50%), especially at idle. I get current complaints from a couple of my family members who don’t like my current exhaust and think it’s a little too loud. I want to get the MBRP axleback but I’m afraid it’ll be too loud. I’ve never heard it in person and I know videos don’t do it justice, but I heard a straight piped one with a SCD and it was very loud. I could hardly hear myself talk when the guy warm started it. Do you think the MBRP will be too loud? Any chance I could do it without my family members noticing?

    If a barebones SS that doesn’t have NPP the same thing as NPP on Trackmode?

    • @CarolinaAutos
      @CarolinaAutos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a really good question. I'm not sure, but I would bet the mufflers are different since they are all one piece

    So your current set up is resonator delete and the MBRP axel back ?

    • @CarolinaAutos
      @CarolinaAutos  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yessir. I actually need to get the resonator delete redone because the welds are coming apart after my last track day...but it sounds great!

    What size pipe was use to replace the secondary cats, 2.5 or 2.75?

    • @CarolinaAutos
      @CarolinaAutos  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's actually metric - I can't remember exactly but it was closer to 2.75"

    • @mikal9624
      @mikal9624 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CarolinaAutos , I had the second cat removed 3 weeks ago and my local shop used 2.5 pipes instead of the 2.75 npp comes in. I was wondering if had any performance loss from going down .25 in size..

    • @CarolinaAutos
      @CarolinaAutos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On a stock car, I doubt that makes much difference. Could always go back in down the road and change them out if you go headers and full catless or something

    Why did you have your npp fuse pulled? Do u need to?

    • @CarolinaAutos

      Because I removed the NPP valves and didn't want the connectors just collecting dirt and moisture and potentially causing a short.
