I'm sick of hearing that the taxpayers should not "confuse" the "rank-and-file" cia employees with those who have corrupted the agency. If one rank-an-file employee is aware of the corruption - and says NOTHING - then the entire agency is corrupt.

Someone tell this guy the government has done this to every small business in America. Business owners spend tons of time paying fees and wasting tons of time trying to figure out if & how and what rules to be in "compliance". None of that busy work has anything to do with serving my customers or growing my business. It does raise the price of the products to the customer. Running business would be a breeze if it weren't for government bureaucracy.

The first year I was in business (2003) I kept track of every penny. At the end of the year, I found that I paid more than 80% of my profits to the government in one form of tax or another.
The second year I was in business, cash transactions weren't recorded anywhere.
Big business controls the government and big business hates little business.

The post-WWII neoliberal world order is breaking down. That "order" is not only a physical thing comprised of policies, infrastructure, etc. Its also conceptualized in a person's head. They (millions of people) partly identify themselves by it or they use it to orient their understandings of the world. When that conceptualization breaks down, what was once understood, becomes unknown and frightening.
Wokeness is nothing more than a vector for elites to reaffirm a paradigm in an attempt to keep the failing paradigm in power. Its a method to launder money, fund politicians, and fund programs to keep their people, organizations, institutions, NGOs, and businesses in a dominant position. Wokeness is nothing more than life-support for the liberal establishment elites. Unfortunately its a poison pill they are forcing on the rest of society and its subsuming Liberalism.

No one in their right mind should ever want a democracy as their form of government. Democracy with a capital "D" is purely mob rule. That's why our democracy is limited to voting for our representatives and leaders who are constrained by the constitution to protect the minority from forming a mob to force them into submission.
What we have as a constitutional republic with a limited democracy may not e a perfect form of government but, I have yet to see or learn of any other that even remotely appears equal ley alone better. So, until Christ who is incorruptible and more than qualified to rule comes I am satisfied with living under the constitutional republic the founders gave us. And, I expect every person so blessed as to be subject to the rule of law held within our constitution to be willing to give everything they have (including their lives) 🎉to respect it, cherish it and defend it as much as I do or leave if you simply can't abide by it's principles and the demands of citizenship!

@@trishaholmeide2192Your thoughts on this have been corrupted:
"Among those who have earned special praise by devising a constitution of
this nature, was Lycurgus, who so framed the laws of Sparta as to assign
their proper functions to kings, nobles, and commons; and in this way
established a government, which, to his great glory and to the peace and
tranquility of his country, lasted for more than eight hundred years.
The contrary, however, happened in the case of Solon; who by the turn he
gave to the institutions of Athens, created there a purely democratic
government, of such brief duration, that I himself lived to witness the
beginning of the despotism of Pisistratus. And although, forty years
later, the heirs of Pisistratus were driven out, and Athens recovered her freedom, nevertheless because she reverted to the same form
government as had been established by Solon, she could maintain it for
only a hundred years more; for though to preserve it, many ordinances
were passed for repressing the ambition of the great and the turbulence
of the people, against which Solon had not provided, still, since
neither the monarchic nor the aristocratic element was given a place in
her constitution, Athens, as compared with Sparta, had but a short life."

The title is more than a bit misleading. The guy talked about the current problems within the CIA, at least as he sees them. What about the Rise and Fall? To begin with, the CIA was not created in response to Pearl Harbor. Harry Truman created it because he realized he needed a spy agency to rival the Soviets, who were always better at that sort of thing than the Americans, dating back to the days of the Czar. Truman didn't like secret police and he didn't want, in his words, "An American gestapo" so he disbanded the OSS. He wanted something sleeker, more professional, an agency that would report to the president, not some commanding military officer. His intent was for the outfit to be an intelligence gathering agency, but he figured out pretty quickly during the Korean War that you had to have human intelligence, not signal intelligence if you wanted to get things right.
So he hired Bedell Smith, Ike's former military assistant to run the thing because of the Allies success with covert ops in WWII. The problem was they ended up with an eclectic group of cowboy-types, outlaws, soldiers of fortune, and former special forces guys from WWII who were bored. They gave em a bunch of money and all they got for the most part was a lot of dead Korean's they dropped behind enemy lines. Then, when Ike became president, he hired Allen Dulles, the mediocre brother of his secretary of state to run the thing and he was a covert action guy, not an intel guy. That's how they rose. The Church Committee neutered them to protect the Kennedy's and their shenanigans in Cuba and other places and from that time forward they were handcuffed and driven to mediocrity. But their track record never was that hot to begin with. Guatemala and Iran were pushovers. Cuba and Vietnam proved to be much more formidable.
As for 9/11, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was the mastermind of that, not Bin Laden. Bin Laden provided the cash and helped recruit the evil crazies to carry it out but it was the brainchild of Khalid and his sick twisted nephew Ramsey Yusef. For 20 years Mohamed has been fed, clothed, and housed by the U.S. taxpayer. Timothy McVeigh went on trial in 1997 and was executed in 2001. Why is this POS who killed close to twenty times as many people still vertical? And what about Khobar Towers? People always seem to fail to mention that bombing which was clearly an Al Qaeda operation. Are we still worried about offending "Saudi sensibilities?"

Dad is a legend in the agency. One of the very few never found out or exposed. Starting in 1950, a leftover from WWII, our family was way out in the front lines, seventy years or so of continuous service almost exclusively overseas. Dad escaped capture and assassination several times. Even parachuted deep into Communist China twice during the Korean War. Hunted for weeks in the mountain jungles in Laos, a far-off kingdom of the Hmong People that occupied about twenty years of his life, on and off. As dad often told me: "Never let the bastards wear you down." His whole family did, in one way or another. What the "company" was decades ago is not what it is today. Dad became the legend he is from a life undercover all over the World and because he never let the bastards wear him down. His wife and kids were no slackers either. It was an interesting childhood and early adult life for me.

Seems to me that without a law degree, I am more qualified for a position on the Supreme Court than Katanya Jackson is. Don't ya think. I just had to say this. Sir or Ma'am is fine with me. Rank and file conservatives today know that the CIA is not conservative. Their job is to assassinate third world conservatives and blame Russia. Bukele fought the CIA and won. He made El Salvador safe. He fought illegal immigration in a way that does not make Adeola Fayehun cringe. Today, they are spying on Tshisekedi, who is making the Congo safe. The CIA supports Katumbi, just like they supported Tshombe.

This totally reminds me ot the transition I saw in my former police department.
From dedicated, fearless individuals led by people who knew how to police and mentored others to substandard recruiting, poor training and led by individuals at the first line who had not done any uniformed work in a decade. The lieutenants who were supposed to be leading from the front, spent all their time glued to a computer monitor. The top people were all DEI promotions and hires. No wonder people hate cops so much.

In the 1990s, I worked in an FBI field office with a roomfull of women who were supposedly inteligence analysts. They were all promoted from the secretarial pool and had no training as analysts. Someone somewhere decided the FBI needed more analysts, so instead of hiring bone fide inteligence analysts, they promoted from within. These were GS-11-13 positions. They continued to function as administrative clerks (secretaries), but now they were called and paid as intelligence analysts. (The FBI agents do their own analysis, so I was never sure why they needed a room full "analysts".)
