Why I’m not a Calvinist, because you can say Jesus is Lord without the Holy Spirit, and have faith before receiving the Holy Spirit. Not the other way around where you’re first in the Spirit, which would then be faith given to you by God completely.
Hey pastor mike! Your seriously my favorite youtube channel. Your ministry has made a huge impact on me and my walk with the Lord. thank you brother. God bless you
As a child, I purposed in my heart to not follow God because my father, who was a preacher, left us, moved to another country and remarried. By God's grace He drew me back to Himself and showed me that He, and not my dad, is the real father.
And the virgin Mary is my mother in heaven not my mother here on earth! And my true father in heaven. Or am I being a heretical Catholic? Perhaps I still have psychological roots! But I want the whole genuine Christian gospel! Yes that's true! Don't follow religion because of your father is in it or outside! And nor will I follow GOD AND RELIGION BECAUSE OF MY MOTHER WHO'S INTRODUCED ME TO IT BUT RATHER BECAUSE IT IS MY ULTIMATE DUTY TO SAVE THOSE WHO CANNOT SAVE THEMSELVES BY GODS WILL ONLY I SHALL BE USED FOE HE WANTS DO WITH ME!
@@IsraelCountryCube It's wonderful you feel content in your life now, But we shouldn't put virgin Mary on a pedestal or worship her. If we need the Ultimate peace, love and guidance we should get it from our heavenly Father. Then he'd bless us with more if he thinks we need it, like a 'mother' while we're alive. Or maybe even, a blessing one day where he had changed our heart so much that we don't need the mother to hold us anymore because, we're mature enough to be without them now; which is good. I pray you keep growing better, more smart and kind, with Christ Jesus, with Holy Spirit and Father in your life. And to keep up that attitude of helping and teaching others, it's definitely always needed! Love you in Christ 💚💚
David, the “man after God's own heart,” abused his power and influence to do terrible things. Yet Christians today are surprised when one of their leaders, with unchecked un-scrutinized power, does similar stuff! The truth is that we are all vulnerable to sin. The more accountable we are, the better.
Except Ravi did NOT do the horrible stuff they accuse him of. Women lie. ESPECIALLY when it involves in gaining potential lawsuit money or a big settlement in $$$. Just look at Amber Heard. Ravi may be guilt of cheating on his wife, but I DO NOT believe he "raped" women. A woman in her 40's who VOLUNTARILY CHEATED ON HER HUSBAND with Ravi wants to blame the cheating entirely on him instead of herself. Many women LACK ACCOUNTABILITY.
The epistles of Corinthians do NOT pertain to nonisraelites so posting the verse as if it applies to nonisraelites is blasphemy (1st Corinthians 10:1-4) Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all "OUR FATHERS" were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea And were ALL BAPTIZED UNTO MOSES IN the cloud and in the sea And did all eat the same spiritual meat and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was CHRIST (obviously the Israelites)
For many years Ravi was such a big influence on me. He was one of the top names that lead me into studying apologetics. Years ago my mother-in-law and I were talking. Because she knew of my studies she looked Ravi up online. She brought up the allegations of Lori Anne Thompson (she needed to challenge me on everything religion). By that time I had already known about that and had read every page of his countersuit. I’ll be honest. The fact that Lori was asking for 5 million dollars just sounded like extortion to me, and I said as much to my MIL. And Ravi’s countersuit sounded so reasonable. Cut to years later when I’m reading the report of the investigators findings. I bawled my eyes out. The issue for me is I now feel like a fool. I feel like my mother-in-law and all the many unbelievers in my life that knew of my involvement with RZIM are laughing at me because I defended him. I have books by him I don’t know what to do with. I have books written by great apologists where he contributed I don’t know what to do with. My certificates in the RZIM courses I completed don’t mean what they once did. But maybe that’s a good thing. It was never about Ravi, or apologetics or books or courses. None of it should’ve mattered more than Christ and His Word. And maybe I let that happen. And I’m ashamed if I did. Christ should always come first before any apologist or pastor. The Bible should always come first before any other book. I’m still processing it all a little. Looking back I see the red flags I should’ve caught if I had my eyes open. This was a hard but important lesson/reminder. This was a really great video! Thank you so much! 🙏🏼❤️
Friend, any of us can fall into sin, that is the reason we should focus on Christ as our example. We must also refrain from tearing into one another, especially if persons involved are those who have been of great service to the LORD....
Have you ever asked someone for forgiveness only to be refused? Have you ever given sound advice only to be rejected because of something unrelated that you did or didn't do? The great thing with most of Ravi's teaching is that it relied on a solid logical footing, not his personal opinions. We don't have to discard all of the things that we learned from him just because his apparently very strong libido often got the better of his reason. King David also had a strong libido it seems, with several wives and concubines, and at least 20 kids among them. However, God calls him a man after His own heart. So far I haven't heard of any little Ravis outside of his three kids with Maragret, so it seems that David was quite the sexual deviant in comparison. How can we reject all of Ravi's works when we still sing David's hymns?
So Ravi "didn't have Christ living in him" huh?? why?? because he Sinned??? Because he couldn't keep his Sin quiet and hidden?? Please stop it!! Ravi is NO different then anyone else!!! Even the judgmental loser voicing this video. You really think the person making this video doesn't have SIN to hide??? Gimmie a break. Of course he DOES!!! If we don't listen to preachers who have Sin in their lives, we won't listen to ANY preachers!! You have to see beyond that. Good medicine is good medicine regardless of the morality of the pharmacist!!
I do not judge Ravi as some have. I would never be so bold as to state he is in hell as some have. I am not his judge. His philosophical teachings were wonderful. There’s no doubt as to the wonderful ways he articulated what he was trying to say. However, I would not lend out his books now as I once did. There are women out there that have been victims of predatory men and I feel it would be a slap in the face to them. (Also, because of my own story I don’t care to share). Yes. We all sin. But if I were the head of an international organization I am not only accountable to God. I am accountable to everyone working in said organization, as well to the donors. It wasn’t just about his libido. It was also what he did with the funds of his organization. I don’t know about you but when I sin I confess it. And then the next step is to repent. Did Ravi confess all this to someone in his dying days? Perhaps. I guess we’ll find out one day. For now we need to pray for healing. Especially for his family. I can’t imagine what they’ve been through. If it seemed like I was attacking his character that’s not what I intended. I am simply someone among thousands that was affected by what happened.
As for what to "do" with the books you have, ask yourself whether you would have reason to read them again in the future or whether they are simply taking up space where other books could be, instead. Maybe, there are many that you find to be worth keeping and rereading, or just a few, or even none. I don't know your bookshelf or your particular reading habits, so it'll have to be something for you to consider prayerfully.
Church abuse is something we need to be more sensitive to, sadly it took Ravi’s disgusting actions to open my eyes to that. This video is so well done, we will all fail as believers, our faith should be in Yeshua alone 💜
If you knew what the leaders of your nation do behind closed doors you'd probably be even more shocked. Unfortunately, it's in their best interests to expose Christian leaders and hide their own scandals. I'd bet that even Gandhi had his own little secret sins.

When a liar calls a rock a rock, more has changed in the character of the liar than in the character of the rock. What Ravi said which was true, will always be true, whether Ravi said it as a villain or a hero.
Anglesmith, scripture is clear, by their fruits you will know them. Ravi's fruits was that of deception, lies, scripture twisting and wicked sins towards women, and ultimately God, because all sin is against God. Ravi was never saved, was never a Christian, was never filled with the Holy Spirit, was never born again. Ravi was a servant for Satan and is currently serving time in hell fire for his wickedness, for eternity.
@@eddynelsonson5706 needed to hear what? True discernment is not knowing the difference between right and wrong, it is knowing the difference between right and almost right. Anglesmith is using a false argument, Ravi may have said some true things but that doesn't negate all the falseness Ravi spoke. Remember, the wolf is covers himself with sheep skin just as Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Ravi disguised himself by speaking some truths but inwardly Ravi was a ravenous wolf.
As someone who is a villain turned into a hero, though in a most unexpected, divine way, please pray for my struggles against pride and anger. I don't cry often, but the comparisons of Samson and Zacharias realize I'm on something of an opposite path, and that signifies the grace I have been given. Pray that I will not lose strength nor fall away, please.
The fact you're asking this shows you have the humble mindset to yield to the truth of God. ... I'm TRULY a functioning sociopath and akin to David Wood. So from me personally, try to remember Anger isn't God and we should not let Anger possess us. We can't let Anger and hate become our Master, because we can only serve One Master, God.
During the early pandemic, I was really disappointed in how some Christians were behaving. I got frustrated with God for humans’ actions. By His grace, I didn’t turn away from Him, but just from that congregation. Ultimately, their actions reflect on the church and her brokenness, but Jesus is far greater than that. He redeems. Thank you for sharing this message, IP.
OMG! I have been a CHristian my whole life. I have taught Religious courses at a private Christian school for six years. I never picked up on the request of Samson at the end of his life was based on selfishness. You have again taught me more Biblically than my pastors have in years.
What is even more remarkable is that Samson still ended up in "the hall of Faith" chapter in Hebrews 11. If there is hope for men who made mistakes like Samson, Gideon, and Jephthah, all who made some pretty big mistakes in there lives, there is hope for all of us including Ravi Zacharias.
It's not really that remarkable when Samson acknowledged that he allowed his weakness for women to distract him from the mission that God gave him and got back on track. God doesn't give up on someone just because they drift off course.
Amen. The LORD hates when His people tear into each other especially, when it is the ministers being beat & torn down. Does not the devil throw all is strength in destroying the men of God???
However we should be careful not to judge too harshly. We all fail in many areas and it it the blood of Jesus that cleanses us. That only difference is that we can see Ravi failure and our Pride, lust, disorbidience, jealousy, selfishness are not laid out for all to see.
Grace can be such a challenging thing to make sense of. For me, all I can say is I am so grateful that mercy triumphs over judgement, because without that I would be lost. When I learnt what Ravi had done I was so sad: what he did was so wrong.
"There is only one hero in the history of mankind." Awesome, IP. Although this comes a little late, it's one of the most biblical takes on the Ravi scandal.
Ravi was why I go into apologetics. Such an inspiration in the faith. Great anointed speaker. I cried when he passed and cried harder when I found out the later details. My hope is always in Christ but Ravi was one of the few I loved to listen too. Jesus is King. Thanks for a good video. Nice job.
@@eoadedapo I agree with your last sentence. But he didn’t take the time to settle things with God. There’s no evidence for that, no confession to anyone and never any repentance. Just because he was a great speaker doesn’t mean he gets extra forgiveness or a special pass. It doesn’t work like that
I needed to hear this. Very eloquently put. I've been experiencing great turmoil over the great multitude of Christian leaders who have done something evil in their ministries, and many of them are unrepentant of it. It's been a source of great pain for myself for many years now. I feel a great sense of hope upon being reminded that our faith is in Christ and not in the life of the flawed preacher. But I also feel challenged to face up to my own shortcomings and sin and acknowledge that I am just as susceptible to falling into all manner of wicked sins but for the grace of God.
I remember Ravi quoting (I believe it was Billy Graham), saying that he would pray that he would not do anything that would destroy in a day what it took him a lifetime to build. Nobody is infallible, but Ravi's actions seemed to be so diametrically opposed to all that we saw and heard about him. It's a tough pill to swallow. We all need to watch out for one another. (Galatians 6:1)

I lived this story as exactly as it could be with the servants who brought me to The Lord. But though I SAW how GOD used these evil people to bring me to HIM. Praise be to The LORD Who never fails!
We can't blame him for his evil though, we ourselves will be subjected by the same type of temptations The more we seek His Kingdom, the more Satan will taunt us, instead pray for his soul

This animative narrative is so well done. All the subtle arts and moreover the message of course. 💜 I've experienced spiritual abuse myself and have seen how double sided are Christians, much more than non-Christians at many times. But I'm glad and thankful that God has helped me see Him. After all, humans fail and I fail, but God is the one who saves. So thankful. Great video.
“It’s Mine to avenge, I will repay “ says the Lord. There is so much we don’t know that I think,it’s safer to leave this whole matter into the Hands of the Judge of The Whole Earth. And allow closure for those loved ones and close friends.
Safer for whom? That type of thinking would only protect the abusers, which is what needs to stop. Christians are told to judge those in the church. I don’t think anyone here is seeking vengeance or getting payback (that I know of anyway).
We know he had a vacation home in an international sex city and multiple massage parlors. We know those at his death bed said he never confessed or repented. We know enough to close this horrible book and warn others.
My Bishop has said, “Samson was anointed but never blessed”. Spiritual gifts are not inherently a sign of good character. The fruit of the Spirit remains more important than the gifts of the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is more important than talents or abilities. Character must matter more than charisma. The tragedy of Samson and of Ravi stars in the heart. May we have hearts that align with our vow of allegiance to Christ as our Lord.
It is God's grace that prevents us from sinning not our character, remember in the book of revelation it says overcome as I overcome...it is pure grace...God bless
I want to ask you a question, did you never try to flirt with any lady except for the wife if you got married ??? If not then you and Ravi are in the same boat...
@@thomasranjit7781 we are all born in sin. We all need the Spirit because we followed our sinful nature and rebelled against God. I would say character in the life of the believer is because of the empowerment that comes from God’s grace. It is not a work of the flesh to have godly character.
I think Philippians 1:15-18 has something to say about this situation: "Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill: The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains; but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel. What then? Only in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice." Even if the reason or motivations behind the message of Christ and the Gospel is for selfish reasons or the person behind it has some serious problems, God can still use that for saving people and for His purposes.
What an amazing and hopeful message. Thank you so much, brother. Jesus continues to shine through in ever greater glory, no matter the evil that seems to hold sway.
The take home message 1 Corinthians 13:1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Well done. Subscribed to your channel and will consider donating. My wife and I listened to Ravi for years every Sat together during our devotional time and were very sad at his passing. You captured the emotional and spiritual rollercoaster we experienced at the revelations about his life after he was gone. This was a well done video and had deep lessons for anyone in the faith to consider. God bless you and the ministry.
Dig deeper. Ravi was a a seeker-sensitive ecumenical agent at heart. He did not call out the many heresies of the Catholic Religion (just one example) when asked, and was talking one way on one stage, another way on another. Saying his teachings were "pure" is a handful. For an atheist who is on a journey to the Biblical God, Ravi's teaching can be a good gateway to Biblical truth (like for me), but Ravi himself didn't wield it. His emphasis was always more on philosophical arguments that mostly targeted reason, rather than Biblical teachings and sounding the mighty Word of God directly that ultimately aims at the heart. He very seldomly mentioned sin which - for a born-again believer - is a red flag. For unbelievers, his content was engaging. Jesus covering our iniquities with His blood-I have yet to find a full relentlessly honest speech of Ravi's, only on our sin.
@@paulpaluciano6162 very true. He was definitely a philosopher, not an evangelical pastor. He would rather quote poetry or other works than the Bible. The fact that he was invited to speak at the Mormon Tabernacle and received a standing ovation says so much about the way he expertly skirted around deep fundamental issues of the Christian faith. One can only hope and pray that the truths he DID say helped others to question their beliefs and lead them along a path to Christ.
This video means a lot to me. It tells us about how our lives, saved or not and competent or not and whether we look good or not, don't affect how God will reveal his glory and affect his glory. He is the one in control. It is very humbling. Thanks for this.
On January 2020, I had the pleasure of attending a seminar with Ravi. He was already frail from fighting off cancer but he still preached with vigor. But do you know what he preached? He preached about Evangelists who were caught from scandal after scandal. He said something like what you're saying right now IP that our faith should not be on the preachers but in Jesus Christ. I'd like to think he was lucid when he said that and that he was giving a warning to his congregants about what was about to come when he dies.
Michael Jennings, because often his content is like a comedian making jokes at the expense of someone most people don’t like. It gets views, and many people like it, but it doesn’t necessarily bridge the gap to reaching people, and it could potentially turn people from followers of Jesus. Obviously, I follow the content, but I am vocal on the good and the bad, this one was a good one.
@@Michael_the_Servant ah I see. It seems to depends on the content he's making. Yes, his shorts are designed to make fun of people who make ridiculous claims. But there is much more interaction and careful thought in his debates. You gotta at least give him credit for debating people. Many TH-camrs won't even at least participate in a conversation with others about the topic.
Michael Jennings, I do, that is why I watch his content. If his content was only the shorts, I probably wouldn’t follow it. As for debates, so often debates are set up to win an argument or the minds of those watching, but alas such is why debates were created. I like Michael’s discussion and interviews with people where even if he disagrees, he is trying to expose people to different perspectives, which can challenge people to expand their thinking. I decided to read the Bible and challenge everything I’ve ever been taught, and just let God and the Scriptures teach me. Now, people question why I don’t agree with “accepted” teachings, but then again I ask those same people in return why they believe an “accepted” teaching that the scriptures disproves, but people don’t challenge their own beliefs let alone what people in authority teach them.
This reminds me of Matthew 23:2-3 “The teachers of the Law and the Pharisees are the authorized interpreters of Moses' Law. So you must obey and follow everything they tell you to do; do not, however, imitate their actions, because they don't practise what they preach." Always latch onto reliable spiritual instruction but never mistake that teacher for your Lord. I appreciated your Samson illustration a great deal though. Lots of food for thought.
I'm glad you made this. Ravi was important to me while I was working through how to talk about my faith and to sit with someone who was thinking through what the Bible meant. It didn't shake my faith, but it did break my heart.
Thank you for this. This was so refreshing to hear. I was heavily influenced by Ravi’s ministry and was in shock and tears when the truth came out. I’ve come to terms since, but this message brought a completely different light on all of this. May God richly bless your ministry and continue to bring Him all the glory

Anyone judging Ravi or any other person in the faith had best wait to see how their lives pan out in their final days/years. We all think we will "never" do that...until we do. I'm sure at 30 or 40 Ravi never imagined this... but his end of life says otherwise. How do u know what u would do, or what sin u would engage in, or what false doctrine you would promote later in ur life? Best leave this for the judge of all the earth to do what is right. Let's not judge others to make ourselves look better.
I’m for SURE judging Ravi. As Christians we are supposed to judge not by our own judgement, but by what God has already judged. He’s a scumbag… dragging God’s name into his sinful activities. It would have been bad enough if he just committed the sins… what blows my mind is how he acted as if God was his accomplice.

Another perspective to consider, Samson wasn’t just a horrible judge in the Book of Judges. He worst judge and climax of a downward spiral of bad behavior from bad to worse in the judges per generation and the Israelite people in general. They had fallen so much that even a Narazite wasn’t living for God. And yet, God turned Samson’s selfishness for good. There are also a few moral lessons to be learn from Samson. - violence begets violence - the actions of one can cause the suffering of others - and one shouldn’t confide with someone who has already broken that confidence before.
I really needed to hear this today. I had just recently been reflecting on how I had once called another awful man I knew an “instrument of God”. I was feeling regret I had ever thought of him that way, but the Lord led me to this video, and now I understand: I do not need to regret what I said, because it was true - he was a good _instrument_ that God spoke through and saved many through. He is an evil man, but God used him to expand the kingdom. Glory to God!
Michael, this video is truly beautiful. This contains the essence of the whole gospel from an important angle: we are not the hero of this story, God is the hero of his story. There are so many great moments in this video, that it makes me think it is one of your best yet. Thank you Michael.
I think Samson at the end repented though, the way I see it is that, Samson did whatever is right in his own eyes, and as punishment his eyes ended up gouged up, it is in a way to say "if your right hand causes you to sin, better for you to cut it off and throw it, than your whole body to be thrown in the lake of fire" and as atonement for doing what was right in his own eyes he asks God to take down the Philistines as Samson says "Let me die with the Philistines" he doesn't plead with God to let him live, and usage of "Let me die" in Hebrew is a way of crying and begging that you are worthy of death there is two other times the Hebrew word, which is tamot, is used one in Numbers, the other in Job The one in Job, it kind of describes the life of Samson, “The godless in heart cherish anger; they do not cry for help when he binds them. They DIE in youth, and their life ends among the cult prostitutes. He delivers the afflicted by their affliction and opens their ear by adversity. Job 36:13-15 ESV Which, yeah Samson was Binded, and not only that he was probably with prostitutes, yet he pleaded to God, and God listened to him according to his affliction In Numbers "Who can count the dust of Jacob or number the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the upright, and let my end be like his!” Numbers 23:10 ESV This one, the usage is like that being a plea to the Lord to let the death be a death of righteousness So given these two usages, and Samson, in my opinion, that Samson lived a very wicked life, apart from God, and God trying to make him repent, gives Samson Divine Punishment, and it is by that punishment, Samson pleads to God, that even though he deserves his death, that his death may be a righteous one To further strengthen my point if we look at Luke 23 "And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Luke 23:41-42 ESV Samson when he prayed to God he said to Him "Then Samson called to the Lord and said, “O Lord God, please remember me and please strengthen me only this once, O God, that I may be avenged on the Philistines for my two eyes.” Judges 16:28 ESV Both people, both awful people plead to God in humility to remember them, used in similar context, if Jesus said "today you will join me in paradise" I believe Samson as well and that is the beauty of Christ. Now do I know if Samson is in heaven? Of course not, I don't know, but as Jesus says Heaven rejoices over 1 sinner repenting, than 99 righteous people who need no repentance
That was very powerful, and yet also beautiful in a sad kind of way. Yes, we should not confuse the message with the messenger. I became a Christian as an adult and when I read about Samson I really disliked him. I always found people looking up to Samson a puzzle. However when I was a new Christian Mike Warnke toured New Zealand and I became quite a fan, buying many of his albums. I was deeply disappointed when it turned out that his stories were mostly fabrications.
@InspiringPhilosophy Women lie. ESPECIALLY when it involves in gaining potential lawsuit money or a big settlement in $$$, or even a book deal. Just look at Amber Heard. A woman in her 40's who VOLUNTARILY CHEATED ON HER HUSBAND with Ravi wants to blame the cheating entirely on him instead of herself. Many women LACK ACCOUNTABILITY.
Yes, God’s power can use anyone, even the wicked, to lead others to Christ. We are all wicked in a sense, but not on the same level of wickedness. I don’t know much about Ravi and his teachings to be honest, but it seems like he’s had a big impact. It’s a shame and crazy that he could be in Hell right now considering all he did on Earth. The truth is there are many Christians the world at large hasn’t really heard of that aren’t engaging in perverse secret sin like Ravi did, but maybe have a technically “lower” impact (in terms of # of people saved, etc.). Only God knows someone’s heart - God judges us righteously because only He knows what we are capable of accomplishing in Christ given the resources/abilities He’s given us. I agree, we should not be celebrating Ravi, especially not worshipping him. The Bible has a verse somewhere I think warning about people that appear as Christians but engage in secret sin. I think Ravi knew the Bible in his head, but not his heart. To stay a Christian and grow in your personal relationship with God/Jesus, you need to allow the Holy Spirit into your life to help you. I don’t think Ravi would have committed these terrible sins and hardened his heart so much to keep committing them if he understood this or could see how demonic this stuff is spiritually. Most believers who start to engage in this stuff should feel something, see something, hear something demonic around them. The devil likes to dance around and play games with people who are dead spiritually, or who are afraid to befriend the Holy Spirit because of false teaching and religious spirits/teachings not allowing God to do what He wants to do with us. The hidden sin is often coupled with the devil/demons hiding in or around someone. It’s this religious bondage, the idea that “Oh I’ve done xyz positive things for Christ, it won’t be a big deal to God if I do this sin because I’m still getting into Heaven at the end of the day anyway…” that makes people commit this kind of stuff behind closed doors. The good works you do do not outweigh the bad! It makes my stomach churn. I know I was inching closer to this mindset earlier on in my walk with Jesus - thankfully God allowed the Holy Spirit to step in before things got ugly
Matthew 12:15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Well done. I loved Ravi, the people who worked w/ him, and gave money to his ministry. But .... Our loyalty, trust, devotion, and love belong to Jesus. A hard lesson - one we need to take to heart.

Sometimes i shutter at the sure magnitude of God... like realy... infinite seems small if you dont know how big something can be. The infinite power, and knowledge, and understanding. How many angels there are, the nonexistent limits of that power... it inspires, if not commands, awe and fear... how little we know, how little will we ever know, much less understand and comprehend. No matter how much we reason, nor think, nor contemplate even an iota of that truth, no closer are we now then we ever were. From the fires of a bush, the Lord spoke. Can anyone even comprehend that? How much more does it take to think he'd huble himself to be as man for no other reason then because He loves us more then we could possibly ever hate Him? To forgive us more then any evil we could possibly do? Damn it, IP.... you reminded me of that truth. God already won. IC XC NIKA✝️
All I will say about Ravi is we shouldn't deny what he did but that doesn't make his words any less true or false. I was led to Christ by Billy Graham. At this point I wouldn't consider him the best theologian, especially since I'm now Eastern Orthodox, but that night he said what he needed to say for the seed of faith to blossom in my heart. In the case of Ravi he may indeed have done awful things, but that doesn't make his words any less true or false. I think IP is right, if you lost your faith because of the scandal your faith was never in Christ. Just like for me if I found out Billy Graham was a fraud I still would be a Christ is Risen proclaiming Christian. We should pray for Ravi and his victims and pray God has mercy on him. Especially because of this scandal.
Well done, my friend.

Aw congratulations for that! So happy you're better with Him! You and your loved ones didn't deserve that horrible situation :'(
@@IsraelCountryCube It's wonderful you feel content in your life now, But we shouldn't put virgin Mary on a pedestal or worship her.

What about it
For many years Ravi was such a big influence on me.

Even if the reason or motivations behind the message of Christ and the Gospel is for selfish reasons or the person behind it has some serious problems, God can still use that for saving people and for His purposes.
What an amazing and hopeful message. Thank you so much, brother. Jesus continues to shine through in ever greater glory, no matter the evil that seems to hold sway.
The take home message
1 Corinthians 13:1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
God draws straight lines with crooked sticks. His power knows no limits; His grace no bounds. Hallelujah.
My faith is strengthened somewhat (and renewed !) . What a clear message.
Excellent...God is a wonderful God and ordains all things! Blessed be God forever!
Samson didn't die a villain. He was in the hall of faith.
Thank You, that's it
You're missing the point. We all die as villains, even if we are in the faith.
He was more of an anti-hero. He was always God's servant, chosen from birth. He was just very unfaithful.
@@ericcasey7593
We're all _born_ villains. But if we die villains, we're lost.
He didn't die a villain, but he certainly lived as one. It was through faith he was able to do what he did in the end.
My heart broke when i heard about Ravi, but still his message was pure, although his life was not. like yours and mine. God bless
Amen brothers.
That's one way to cope i guess, but his actions were impure even by secular standards.
@@LucianC137 op isn’t saying his actions were pure, just the message he preached but did not practice
I’ve heard the story of Samson so many times, yet it was beautifully illustrated here! This was outstanding! So wonderfully put from beginning to end.
Thanks! I really appreciate this commentary.
Thank you so much for donation
@@InspiringPhilosophy this is irrelevant to this video but what happened to the formal debate between you and Majesty of Reason?
On January 2020, I had the pleasure of attending a seminar with Ravi. He was already frail from fighting off cancer but he still preached with vigor. But do you know what he preached? He preached about Evangelists who were caught from scandal after scandal. He said something like what you're saying right now IP that our faith should not be on the preachers but in Jesus Christ. I'd like to think he was lucid when he said that and that he was giving a warning to his congregants about what was about to come when he dies.
Why didn’t he confess right then and there? Seems to be the work of a liar honestly (but I’ve commented enough on this video)
As often as I am critical of your content, it is always a blessing to see when you let the Light shine through you and deliver a word from the Lord.
Why are you critical of his content?
This reminds me of Matthew 23:2-3
“The teachers of the Law and the Pharisees are the authorized interpreters of Moses' Law. So you must obey and follow everything they tell you to do; do not, however, imitate their actions, because they don't practise what they preach."
Always latch onto reliable spiritual instruction but never mistake that teacher for your Lord.
So beautiful ❤ I’ve never heard Samson preached like that ❤
Your video production just keeps getting better and better. I like slapping these videos down for some of my friends to take in. A lot of them don't like it, but it's all hard to argue. You have great discernment, man.
This so affirms why were to, “Keep our eyes upon Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.” Heb. 12:2 ❤️🙏🏼✝️

I've been blessed by both channels. May God be glorified by both channels as the faithful continue to point to Him.
@@InspiringPhilosophy Women lie. ESPECIALLY when it involves in gaining potential lawsuit money or a big settlement in $$$, or even a book deal. Just look at Amber Heard.
@@InspiringPhilosophy I know this video is older, but I’m hoping you still see this. In the video you consistently show the image of Samson as a big strong guy, and yet he’s never described as such. He is said to “amaze” people in his actions and shows of strength. I can’t say, this is 100 percent true, but I’ve always thought of him as a regular sized guy doing amazing works of God. It gives more credence to the people’s amazement then if he were a large strong looking guy doing those same feats.
Amen brother. Christ and Christ alone is our savior from beginning to end
Ravi's life in his later years should serve as an example of WHAT NOT TO DO, like the life of King Solomon in his later years.

This one really speaks to me. Amazing.
This is worthy of a sermon, what a masterpiece. It's meant for church addict who look up to their Church leaders as God but not as God's instrument 👍
Outstanding message, sir! Thank you!

Yes, very well done! This spoke to me a lot because of my sinful failures. Thank you! ❤

Beautifully said brother Michael.
I've just watched another video and I'm glad that I watched this one first. You gave me something very deep to think about. I feel like there is something changed inside that I can't explain. But I feel like it's better for me. The other video was by Mike Winger (who I see has commented here), about Joel Osteen.

I never really understood the story of Samson. I knew the story of Ravi. Ravi’s story saddens me, but it is not unique. Only one man never sinned. Thank God that man still loves us, even when we sin.
Incredible video, brother! I struggled with this for a while after the Ravi incident and it caused me to think where I was putting my faith in. Again, thank you for making this video!

Thank you IP
And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.
1 Corinthians 2:1-5
Ravi was an elegant speaker with great wisdom and we see why no one should ever place their faith in the eloquence of man or his intellect but in Christ Jesus alone...
- violence begets violence
- the actions of one can cause the suffering of others
- and one shouldn’t confide with someone who has already broken that confidence before.
And yet despite all of that the writer of Hebrews lists him in the "hall of faith"
I freaking love this channel.
I only heard about Ravi after his death so I was not particularly affected or surprised.
But your words are nonetheless inspiring and encouraging.
I knew Ravi before his death, but didn't really cared that much about him.
Amen. Truly, our Lord Jesus Christ the founder and perfecter of our faith. And our everlasting hope. 🔥
I think Samson at the end repented though, the way I see it is that, Samson did whatever is right in his own eyes, and as punishment his eyes ended up gouged up, it is in a way to say "if your right hand causes you to sin, better for you to cut it off and throw it, than your whole body to be thrown in the lake of fire" and as atonement for doing what was right in his own eyes he asks God to take down the Philistines as Samson says "Let me die with the Philistines" he doesn't plead with God to let him live, and usage of "Let me die" in Hebrew is a way of crying and begging that you are worthy of death there is two other times the Hebrew word, which is tamot, is used one in Numbers, the other in Job
The one in Job, it kind of describes the life of Samson, “The godless in heart cherish anger; they do not cry for help when he binds them. They DIE in youth, and their life ends among the cult prostitutes. He delivers the afflicted by their affliction and opens their ear by adversity.
Job 36:13-15 ESV
Which, yeah Samson was Binded, and not only that he was probably with prostitutes, yet he pleaded to God, and God listened to him according to his affliction
In Numbers
"Who can count the dust of Jacob or number the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the upright, and let my end be like his!”
Numbers 23:10 ESV
This one, the usage is like that being a plea to the Lord to let the death be a death of righteousness
So given these two usages, and Samson, in my opinion, that Samson lived a very wicked life, apart from God, and God trying to make him repent, gives Samson Divine Punishment, and it is by that punishment, Samson pleads to God, that even though he deserves his death, that his death may be a righteous one
To further strengthen my point if we look at Luke 23
"And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
Luke 23:41-42 ESV
Samson when he prayed to God he said to Him
"Then Samson called to the Lord and said, “O Lord God, please remember me and please strengthen me only this once, O God, that I may be avenged on the Philistines for my two eyes.”
Judges 16:28 ESV
Both people, both awful people plead to God in humility to remember them, used in similar context, if Jesus said "today you will join me in paradise" I believe Samson as well and that is the beauty of Christ. Now do I know if Samson is in heaven? Of course not, I don't know, but as Jesus says Heaven rejoices over 1 sinner repenting, than 99 righteous people who need no repentance
I am so glad you covered this. We have to distinguish between the intentional abuse of power that can come from those who are supposed to be leaders.
Has anyone re-read the story of Samson lately? It’s sooooo bizarre.
In Hebrew, Samson is the Sun.
One of the best videos I have ever watched!😍
That was very powerful, and yet also beautiful in a sad kind of way. Yes, we should not confuse the message with the messenger. I became a Christian as an adult and when I read about Samson I really disliked him. I always found people looking up to Samson a puzzle. However when I was a new Christian Mike Warnke toured New Zealand and I became quite a fan, buying many of his albums. I was deeply disappointed when it turned out that his stories were mostly fabrications.

Thank you for reminding us that it is Christ who we follow, no other person. In Christ alone our hope is found.
