A big one you may not know is they now support T-Mobi, as new band 71, This is their new 600MHz frequency. They've been getting this out there for the last year. It's a lower band which works better to get the signal into buildings and what it. There's w long list of new features that Apple didn't mention in their press conference as they only have so much time. But really, what's the bug WOW on Android?

It’s really not that bad. I usually do a 300$ down payment which is very realistic if you save for a year. And then my payment is like 30-37$ a month I’m with Verizon btw.
Don’t really see the point in upgrading from a X to a Xs. The only reasonable upgrade in my opinion is if you have a 7 or lower. I’ve been with my 6s+ for ages now and this is going to be a huge upgrade. Even though the prices are flat out dumb because of high demand, I still need to get my hands on one.

I'm personally going from 8 Plus to Xs Max... one I'm on the upgrade plan anyway so it's only $14 ish more a month and two, I didn't really want to buy into the new layout and tech in the first year of it so it was generally my plan to upgrade anyway. Being able to keep the larger size phone will be nice as I've gotten used to it.

People say 1k+ on a phone is outrageous but it’s with you 24/7 and most people use it more than anything else in their life. The majority of people spend way more on tvs, vehicles, appliances and other things they maybe use a handful of hours in a week, but god forbid you have to spend that much on something that goes with you everywhere and is used pretty constantly the majority of the day 🤷♂️

Thanks for the comment and providing me with a different perspective. However, if I could add to that...I don't think it is just everyone is saying it to just be "bashing" (at least I'm not lol). Apple started the trend for other phones to follow like Siri, FaceID, TouchID, FaceTime, etc. then everybody else started doing it. But they haven't made any really big changes to their products, its literally bigger phones and a different camera that is overpriced. For someone like myself who has been with apple for quite some time, it's just disappointing. And I know for sure that I am not the only one just based off the comments here and just seeing how people aren't lining up for apple products like they use to....I just wanted something different that's all. Maybe in the next two years I will upgrade my phone but for now I'll just stick to what I have.

Their has been a 2 year gap... that has been in place at Apple since the iPhone 3, or 4, I think... Apple first releases the numbered version (iPhone 4), while the next year, they add an s on to the end, for example the iPhone 4s. Where the phone with just a number was the main upgrade in terms of hardware, while the next year phones, (the s models) were just optimized to be more efficient and effective, with a focus on software.
Thinking about upgrading from 7 plus to the X. Your input here helped. I won’t feel like I’m missing out on much by not going with the very latest iPhone model available. Going from the 7 plus to the X will be a great upgrade for me. Great review, thank you!

They’re not even adding the “S” on the back of the phone. So the only way you could tell it’s the Xs is by getting the gold phone or the Max. Unless they look at the bottom and see the asymmetrical speaker/microphone cutouts.

What's the point in upgrading to this say if you still have a 7+, 8+ or x? What are those phones not capable to do that these can? This is absolutely ridiculous. Back in the old days, apple used to release ONE phone per year, with some quite amazing new features, but now, what is this? A little more color in the screen, a 0.00002 second faster loading time, some new features that 99% of the people will not even use.. I don't get it. This is just stupid. I would say come to an Apple Store to check it out yourself before you decide to give it up. I bet Apple has done thorough reviewing before releasing it, it's a weird 828p display after all. I felt the same about my 6sPlus until I tried face id. It's awesome. The finger id on my iPad feels old and isn't half as consistent as the face id which basically flawless. The screen is definitely better and edge to edge is great too. If you ever upgrade think you would probably be happy with it.

You know, I started jumping on the bandwagon of hating Apple for not giving me a reason to waste $1000. But on the macroscopic level, it’s not Apple or the iPhone. It is the smartphone in general. The iPhone was the first true smartphone and the smartphone fundamentally changed every aspects of our lives very much like the transistor, microchip, personal computer, internet, etc. I want to be “wowed” and expect it, but that’s just not going to happen again because the smartphone has reached its maturity and it’s now just a staple of our lives like the internal combustion engine. And like that, we’ll get newer, slightly faster models and repackaging of the same thing.
Then why pay $1000 for a thing that never improves..and ohh I forgot to mention the strategically placed memory upgrades and so called requirement for dongles.. Milks money out of a common user from every possible way
I agree that the modern smartphone plays a vital role in our lives but that's not the issue here. The gap between smartphones is getting smallker. Today there is hardly nothing an iPhone X or a Note 9 can do that a One Plus cannot do. Heck I have a LG V20 and can go toe to toe with any 2019 flagship. So my main questions are why is Apple raising their prices when 1. They are only giving consumers minimal upgrades and 2. The competition is getting so much better. I think the answer is more about the insane Apple brand recognition than anything else.
I’m really loving my X so I can’t see those incremental upgrades making much of a difference for me personally. I plan on waiting for next year’s iPhones but who knows, that XS Max looks kinda nice.

I have a 6s and I wanted the xr but that shit doesn’t even play 1080p which is xr (xtremely ridiculous) for a billion dollar company. The xs isn’t worth an upgrade, I’d rather wait for the 7, 8, and 10 price drop or get a bundle deal cause I really love pay $60 bucks for my phone bill with unlimited data
You most probably won't notice it. It's sharp enough for most people unless you stick your eyes onto the screen. That aside, it's gonna be super vivid and crisp unlike other low quality LCD, this panel would still easily smoke panels on lower tier Xiaomi or Huawei phones, even some LG and Samsung non-flagships. I would say just wait until it drops then visit an Apple Store to check it out before you give up on it. I think the panel would be decent, don't sweat too much, sharpness is mostly placebo and depends greatly on what you have onscreen.

No upgrade for me. iPhone x is the perfect size phone. I’m in Canada and not spending 1519 before tax for a new phone that is only marginally better. There was nothing innovative enough to justify that price tag.

I on the other hand was stupid and went to a android phone (Sony) loved the phone hated android. After 5 months I sold the phone en bought a 7 plus. Using percentages to describe speed improvements can be misleading and make it sound like there is a substantial difference in performance. When you're talking about 30% faster app opening when your current phone opens apps in fractions of a second, it really is indistinguishable.
That is true, but there are also apps that take like 5 seconds to open because they take up a lot of storage, which then means it will take a few seconds less. A noticeable difference.

Don’t really see the point in upgrading from a X to a Xs. The only reasonable upgrade in my opinion is if you have a 7 or lower. I’ve been with my 6s+ for ages now and this is going to be a huge upgrade. Even though the prices are flat out dumb because of high demand, I still need to get my hands on one.

I'm personally going from 8 Plus to Xs Max... one I'm on the upgrade plan anyway so it's only $14 ish more a month and two, I didn't really want to buy into the new layout and tech in the first year of it so it was generally my plan to upgrade anyway. Being able to keep the larger size phone will be nice as I've gotten used to it.

People say 1k+ on a phone is outrageous but it’s with you 24/7 and most people use it more than anything else in their life. Thanks for the comment and providing me with a different perspective. However, if I could add to that...I don't think it is just everyone is saying it to just be "bashing" (at least I'm not lol). Apple started the trend for other phones to follow like Siri, FaceID, TouchID, FaceTime, etc. then everybody else started doing it. But they haven't made any really big changes to their products, its literally bigger phones and a different camera that is overpriced. For someone like myself who has been with apple for quite some time, it's just disappointing. And I know for sure that I am not the only one just based off the comments here and just seeing how people aren't lining up for apple products like they use to....I just wanted something different that's all. Maybe in the next two years I will upgrade my phone but for now I'll just stick to what I have.

Apple first releases the numbered version (iPhone 4), while the next year, they add an s on to the end, for example the iPhone 4s. Where the phone with just a number was the main upgrade in terms of hardware, while the next year phones, (the s models) were just optimized to be more efficient and effective, with a focus on software.

What's the point in upgrading to this say if you still have a 7+, 8+ or x? What are those phones not capable to do that these can? This is absolutely ridiculous. Back in the old days, apple used to release ONE phone per year, with some quite amazing new features, but now, what is this? A little more color in the screen, a 0.00002 second faster loading time, some new features that 99% of the people will not even use.. I don't get it. This is just stupid. I felt the same about my 6sPlus until I tried face id. It's awesome. The finger id on my iPad feels old and isn't half as consistent as the face id which basically flawless. The screen is definitely better and edge to edge is great too. If you ever upgrade think you would probably be happy with it.

You know, I started jumping on the bandwagon of hating Apple for not giving me a reason to waste $1000. But on the macroscopic level, it’s not Apple or the iPhone. It is the smartphone in general. The iPhone was the first true smartphone and the smartphone fundamentally changed every aspects of our lives very much like the transistor, microchip, personal computer, internet, etc. I want to be “wowed” and expect it, but that’s just not going to happen again because the smartphone has reached its maturity and it’s now just a staple of our lives like the internal combustion engine. And like that, we’ll get newer, slightly faster models and repackaging of the same thing.

I agree that the modern smartphone plays a vital role in our lives but that's not the issue here. The gap between smartphones is getting smallker. Today there is hardly nothing an iPhone X or a Note 9 can do that a One Plus cannot do. Heck I have a LG V20 and can go toe to toe with any 2019 flagship. So my main questions are why is Apple raising their prices when 1. They are only giving consumers minimal upgrades and 2. The competition is getting so much better. I think the answer is more about the insane Apple brand recognition than anything else.

I have a 6s and I wanted the xr but that shit doesn’t even play 1080p which is xr (xtremely ridiculous) for a billion dollar company. The xs isn’t worth an upgrade, I’d rather wait for the 7, 8, and 10 price drop or get a bundle deal cause I really love pay $60 bucks for my phone bill with unlimited data

You most probably won't notice it. It's sharp enough for most people unless you stick your eyes onto the screen. That aside, it's gonna be super vivid and crisp unlike other low quality LCD, this panel would still easily smoke panels on lower tier Xiaomi or Huawei phones, even some LG and Samsung non-flagships. I would say just wait until it drops then visit an Apple Store to check it out before you give up on it. I think the panel would be decent, don't sweat too much, sharpness is mostly placebo and depends greatly on what you have onscreen.

No upgrade for me. iPhone x is the perfect size phone. I’m in Canada and not spending 1519 before tax for a new phone that is only marginally better. There was nothing innovative enough to justify that price tag.

honestly the gestures on iphone x with home button removal is the best thing about the phone. You get used to it in like 30 minutes of use and its sooo much better

I got iphone X 256gb and see no reason to upgrade, only improvement is a faster chip, and trust me my phone hasn't dropped a frame since I bought it so its not even useful.

I on the other hand was stupid and went to a android phone (Sony) loved the phone hated android. After 5 months I sold the phone en bought a 7 plus. Still happy with it and probably will last for a few more years.

sorry to break it to you but they are not gonna bring it back. once apple makes a big change to the products like that, they won't change it back. and i honestly don't see why its such a big deal i never am wearing headphones and charging my phone at the same time. if it is that big of a deal to you, get wireless headphones they are not that expensive for wireless earbuds on amazon. you can get some for $30.

That is true, but there are also apps that take like 5 seconds to open because they take up a lot of storage, which then means it will take a few seconds less. A noticeable difference.
