One thing that is interesting to do when sanding wood is to do it in the same wood grain direction. The finish gets much better.

I remember in elementary school. We had safety scissors that were rounded not pointed on the end so no one got stuck or stabbed. But in the back of the room, the teacher had one of these guillotine / paper cutters that would hack off all your fingers in one clean swoop.

My grandma is a retired teacher so I have one in my closet with my art supplies (really helpful for cutting watercolor paper)

Like i was repairing my great grandpa's vice, and as i was fixing it i realized that not only was it rusted and crunchy, the entire body has cracked down the center...
i mean they do find a lot of stuff in good condition, save for being extremely rusted. you’d be surprised, my mom picked up a rusted cast-iron pan, took a wire brush and rust remover to it, good as new in half an hour.

@@nat2057 I have never even thought about this kind of restoration, but yes that could be very interesting seeing what they have to do to not damage centuries old painting, sculpture or historical building.
Whenever I watch these videos it always makes me really happy to imagine the craftsmen and women who originally made these looking down and smiling, seeing that their works are given a second chance at life in one way or another letting their legacy live on just a bit longer

Wow! The size of that bread slicer is large enough to be a small sword! What a great job you did! As a part-time gunsmith, I'd love to post some of the old firearms restorations I've done, but TH-cam's policies on guns won't allow it because it shows me reassembling said firearms.

I have no idea how TH-cam recommended this to me, but I am glad they did. Not only is this restoration wonderful, I'm in awe of the very crisp filmwork and editing. This isn't just a restoration video, but a craftsman work of art...its own little film. Fantastic stuff.

That’s not Thor’s hammer, that’s his own hammer made out of Mjolnir’s remains. You see, after Hela crumbled it up, TySy reforged the Uru to make a new hammer, one infinitesimally more powerful, just for his entertainment. To make matters more impressive, Uru is a special unobtainium, it’s not able to be reforged, but guess what, HE BENT THE RULES OF REALITY TO DO IT! WHAT AN ABSOLUTE MEGA CHAD!

Sweet. I love restoration, it gives me a woody. One time I bought this awful looking coffee side table. I stripped it down and the thing was all oak. I stained and painted it. It's now my bed stand. It's gorgeous. You never know what's underneath the wear.
You missed the part where you cleaned the blade. I hope the bread wasn't filled with metal shavings. A better test would have been a tomato.

I have just watched this vid, and several things have become very apparent. Firstly the restoration is, as always, quite superb. BUT, the visuals and the animations have become brilliant, fun and wonderful entertainment. These differences are what is making Tysi Tube more elevated than the others who simply clean and polish stuff. The little inserts of stop motion action are so entertaining, and make all the difference. Well done, as always. Keep up the excellent work. It is the best.
