- Who could ever forget The Two Fat Ladies? Larger than life cooks, Jennifer Paterson and Clarissa Dickson Wright would one a week grace our telly boxes in the 1990's with half an hour of cookery which included plenty of butter, lard and jugs of clotted cream! They’d mainly travel around the country, Jennifer riding the Triumph Thunderbird motorcycle with Clarissa wedged inside the adjoining Watsonian Jubilee sidecar! Although we love them dearly I have only ever cooked one of their recipes in all these years…a chocolate tart! We never watched them for their culinary advice….we watched them because they were two fabulous eccentric cooks having a laugh, doing something that they loved…and getting paid for it!

The Isolation Creations are the work of Jamie Honeybourne and Alan Gibbons - two comedy actors living in Scarborough and out of work thanks to the pandemic. Instead of whinging and bingeing they got creative!
"The Isolation Creations started when we were put in lockdown in March 2020 due to CV19! We live in Scarborough, UK and as comedy actors we found ourselves with no jobs, no money, no bookings but loads of creativity and a great big bag of wigs which was just going to waste! Every week we recreate, reimagine and remake our favourite movies, TV shows and pop culture moments starring us! It has kept us safe, sane and silly in what would otherwise be a really difficult time."

Wonderful! My mother-in-law is from Hungary and adored them dubbed into Hungarian. She said they were the only English chefs who knew how to cook. I think that was because of the lard.

@@theisolationcreations I watched a documentary on the life of the Jennifer and it was really interesting and god she had such a random life. On the the other Clarissa’s documentary threw light on the fact she cheated her sister out of inheritance. Alan can throw himself into any character! Give him a wig and he owns it! X

@@KevboKev Hi Kev....Jennifer sings this little shanty in the very first episode (Ep 1 Series 1 - Fish and Shellfish) when they go out to sea on a fishing trawler ...Clarrissa says something like.."Give us a sea shanty Jennifer"...and in true Jennifer style..she does! She only sings a couple of lines of the song... Alan x

The song at 01:43 has a great anecdote in Clarissa’s autobiography.
The producer wanted Jennifer to sing something but as a direct result of that, she refused. Clarissa felt it was because it reminded Jennifer of being made to perform as a child by her hated mother.
Clarissa suggested to the producer that they let Jennifer assist and actually drink the cocktail.
As we know, it worked very well
