Former Pershing Missile crewman here, I've been there a couple times for test firing of the system.
One thing most people do not remember or know is.. that the Pershing II when it was deployed in Europe.. lead to the direct ending of The Cold War.. and the collapse of the Soviet Union.
I think it super cool that you even went there to check out the site...
    KEEP exploring and sharing..😎

Yep, former Hawk Missile System Center Coordinator Tech. 24G10. I had the privilege to have been a part of the missile system that was the fore-runner for Patriot Missile system (currently in service to this day, I know Israel uses it, I think it's part of the Iron Dome). I saw Hawk get upgraded, it was iHawk III, and the refrigerator sized computer that used to run it got turned into a small drawer, about the size of one you'd put your underwear and socks in. I also assisted the Vice Chief of Staff, General Armstrong (1987) escort out (honorably) Hawk as the Functional Area Assessment project deemed Hawk outdated, and I believe, finally retired as a result of that FAA. My uncle works at China Beach, in close association with WSMR (White Sands Missile Range) performing critical backward engineering on captured enemy assets. Spent almost 3 1/2 years working at Ft. Bliss (just south) as a soldier in the iHawk Systems Branch, training our tac. officers.

Howdy! So cool to been at the place that got to see the tech evolution from when Army Air Corpse got turned into Air Force. And then NASA being started out.
Before the nuclear, it was used to test a lot of flight stuffs with rockets & jets. But, welcome to being around active military locations. They have to do that for national security. 😅

Great video thanks for sharing. As far as weapons of mass destruction go like many things in life it’s great saying no country should have them but really how do you stop countries from illegally adopting them? Ok none of us want them but in the US’s case they are more effective as a deterrent than as an answer to another country’s threats. As for filming and being detained even here in Australia you always have to be mindful of what you are filming especially when it comes to government sites.

Well dang.... sorry that you got detained for something you didn't have a clue about but thank you for posting this video!!! If you like aviation and things that fly you need to go to Warner Robins to a free museum that has all kinds planes including the SR Black Bird. Thanks Doodle!!!!

“We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence upon those that would do us harm.” - George Orwell.
“You must first become a monster. Then you must learn how to control it.” - Jordan Peterson.
Many of the freedoms we enjoy in the USA are because other nations are afraid to attack us in a large scale war. Peace achieved through superior fire power.

Welllll....i visited the NSA museum, and, on the way out, decided to take a 'keepsake' photo of the NSA sign at the entrance to the facility....hmmm.. BAD IDEA!
I was quite suddenly surrounded by police cars, escorted to a remote parking lot, had a rather long 'interview', and had my film (yes, film) confiscated, never to be seen again! (Lost about 20 frames taken at night in DC..)
I guess i was "detained", in the legal sense, but only for an hour or so...the "adventures" that we sometimes have in pursuit of a picture!
