So, decided to swap the old set of tail/brake/turn lights on tye RV for some newer ones with better lens and better visibility. Follow along as i swap them.
That stuff you scraped off is called butyl tape, helps keep the water out. Good job with the swap out. Might consider putting some in. Buy from amazon.com
Natasha Allen yes. I forgot the name of the tape, but have sealed it up with dicor rv sealant. :) and really like the new lights. Better light output during the day
Good question, i could have, they are just ground wires so i could've crimped on a eyelet terminal to each and screwed them into the sheetmetal behind the lights, but the RV didnt have an actual designated ground wire for the lights they just ground out to the body. At 16:10 you'll notice i add an extra screw right the the light body into camper and it grounds grounds out just as well.
loved ur video, but I have a problem, I might have wired it wrong. I have red, black and green on my lights, white, red , and green on my camper, how do I hook it up???
Hi Richard, best thing to do when i doubt with trailer wiring is to to connect your truck to the camper trailer electrical and turn on 1 lights at a time and test the wires withba test light to see which wire does what.
Hello, i have 2 white 2 green and 1 brown coming out of my trailer. On my new tail light i have 2 white (screwed to back of tail light, maybe ground), 1 red 1 black and 1 green. Can you please help me?
I just installed some led lights on my rv trailer today. Individually, brakes, running lights and turn signals work but when running lights are on, the turn signals do not work. Re-installed the incandescent lights and they work normally. Any answers? I sure wish I can get these leds to work.

Just A note..Why would you put old lights back in Use Leds. Also leds are only $12 when you buy from the internet. You get 2 for that.
