Oh my gosh, this happened to me, I had a mother in law suite on my house, the pastor of my church gave me a sob story about this old couple whose house burned down and they were homeless, so I let them move in, I figured out that they were drug dealers when all of these people day and night were in my driveway, their house burned down because they were cooking METH, And my pastor knew it!! I told them I was going to call the police if they didn't leave, they laughed at me and told me the police were their suppliers, I moved out, across the state.
I recommend reacting to the Men at Work version of Overkill. But if you want a laugh after the fact, check out the Colin Hay (lead singer) solo versions of it. There are quite a few of them, and in many of them Colin tells stories about his experiences. They are hilarious! In these videos, you realize what a pure entertainer he is. He's quite an accomplished guitarist as well.
Oh, I loved Men At Work back in the day. Lead singer Colin Hay was such a cool, eccentric kind of person, with a great sense of humor, and it showed. What a band.
you dont even notice it most of it, and sure dont hurt his looks, and showed that something that cant help really adds to him and makes him even more interesting
@@rsmith8434 Rather than figure out why the medium was taking? They decided to create "reality tv". And that's when television en masse started swirling the bowl and people (like me) started cutting the cable...
I'm really happy that you enjoyed it just as much as I did when I first heard it. It's nice that you comment on the instruments and on the lyrics and that basically means that you're truly listening to it.
I still remember when i 1st seen this video as a kid watching ''Fridaynight'' video's sometime back in 1982'' Men At Work was the shit back then right before the I want my MTv Era!🎶😎
I love channels like yours because you are keeping alive the great music produced in the past and showing that what passes for music today is bland, soulless and unimaginative.
One of my all time favorite bands! I love the sax and Colin’s vocals but the drummer is seriously underrated! Please also check out their songs It’s a Mistake, Still Life, Underground, Maria, Be Good Johnny, and Overkill. If you ever buy one of their CDs get their Contraband CD which is a greatest hits album and the way it’s mixed and produced the music explodes through the speakers/headphones (in a good way).
I remember when this song came out back in the 80's. And I always thought it was a great and fun song. Even to this day, whenever I hear it, it always brings a smile to me. Great fun song!! Another fun songs from Men At Work are 'Down Under and Be Good Johnny!' Fun songs!!
Men At Work always had some of the most entertaining videos in the heyday of MTV, and their songs were always kinda funny and off-the-cuff, not to be taken too seriously. Colin Hay made great use of his naturally buggy eyes to perfectly express the comical paranoia of the song.
Oh that yellow and black album..... Thanks for reacting to this song, Jay..... It was enjoyable.Looking forward to other Men At Work songs. Take care and be well. Peace.
That was my favorite song off their debut album. I was lucky enough to see them on their first tour in London, Ontario. The lead singer was FUNNY!! He talked A LOT to the audience making jokes, he could see one of the girls in the front was smiling at the sax player, and he was saying, " You really like him don't you? I can tell, to you want to meet him?". It was a GREAT fun concert.
My 7 yr old loves this song. I was playing a random Spotify playlist and it came on and he was hooked as soon as the sax started. He listens to it almost every day.
th-cam.com/video/la9Iy0RTvCI/w-d-xo.html "And When I Die," by Blood sweat and Tears one of their many hits in the early 70's. This group were the pioneers of Jazz Rock.
@@RenzoM2811 Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
Please react to "Overkill", "It's A Mistake", "Be Good Johnny", "I Can See It In Your Eyes", "Down By The Sea", "Dr. Heckyl & Mr. Jive", "Everything I Need", and "Man With Two Hearts".
Love this band. And lead singer Colin Hay ( and his amazing lazy eye 💕) is a great front man- unique voice yes. I just watched a documentary on him called “Waiting for my real life” . He is very real and honest and it was a treat for me as I had not heard much from him of course when they disbanded. A great one to check out.

Jay, I'm so happy you are enjoying some good old Aussie rock from my younger days. This is such a good fun song and its Perfect for the Covid-19 Lockdown. Cheers from Sydney, Australia. ❤🦘🇦🇺
I live alone and feel like this when someone knocks on my door unexpectedly. I like that someone would write a song about this. The only other Men at Work song I know is Be good be good be good be good be good be good be good. I think if you dug the other two, you would like it too. Gonna have a listen now.
Colin Hay and that version were featured on an episode of Scrubs. Zach Braff and Christa Miller picked out most of the music and Colin Hay was a favorite of theirs.
The lead singer does the song overkill with a pub crowd and it’s quite amazing as he has the crowd practice first doing the backup and harmonizing and then records it. Freaking awesome
Hi Jayvee, glad you like the song. It's one of my favourite MAW tunes and was a catchy song back in the day going No.1 in many countries. I played drums on that song and your excitement and appreciation of the song inspired me to comment. Thanks!!
These songs never get old. Still love them thpugh they broke up about 1984?.. The lead singer Collin Hayes is originialy from Scotland. A great fun band.😄🎸🎶🎶❤

Don't Dream It's Over is in the 1997 Australian movie Cosi (which also has Colin in it!!!!! Yay!) Personally, i think this is by far the best version by Toni Colette
I'd forgotten how good this song was. Thanks for playing it. You're right about that sax. If you like saxophones give a listen to Dave Koz. He really puts a lot of feeling into his playing.
This is my ringtone for unknown callers.
Lisa White I used to use this for unknown calls too!
Haha, Perfect.
Awesome idea lol
Same!!! I use it as my ringtone for everybody!!
Lol
He was living next to a drug dealer when he wrote this song, the dealers customers used to get confused about which door they were knocking on.
My sister lives like this now sadly, she's 57 and very ill. This song resonates perfectly still today.
