Winter Time Slow Pitch Jigging For Rockfish in La Jolla

I took out my 21 foot Seaswirl Striper for some winter time rockfishing action in La Jolla, San Diego, California before the rockfishing season ended. My good buddies Charlie and Henry tagged along and we tried some slow pitch jigging for vermillion red rockfish, sculpin and salmon grouper (bocaccio). Fishing was a little slow but it was still nice to get out on the water!
Gear Used:
Dropper Loop with squid
Mustad knife jigs
butterfly jig
Shimano Tranx 300
Penn Fathom 25N
Phenix Axis rod.

Awesome video, I'm still getting into slow pitch jigging. Mind sharing the weight of your jigs and how deep? I'm still trying to understand what weight to use for what situation

We're pretty new to it as well but it's definitely fun! I think these were 300g jigs and we were in about 190 to 240ft.

@@SDKook thank you, it's fun and super addicting. Am planning on going out again next month so I'll have to stock up on some jigs. And I'll have to try that rainbow one. But much appreciated from the OC 🤙 will def keep an eye out for more of your vids
