After losing my job post-9/11, I received no support from NYC. I faced homelessness, surviving on $146.00 monthly food stamps for my 3-year-old son and myself. It felt like nobody cared, especially when I see immigrants now granted more rights, enjoying 60 days in a hotel with food assistance.
Very sad. These criminals have all rights. We do not have any.

I agree it's "complicado" to be 8 months pregnant and homeless in a foreign country, but it can be uncomplicated very quickly by returning to your home country where your family and support system are.

When my Grandparents came to this country they had a little money on them that they earned in their homeland before coming to this country. They rented an apartment, went job hunting, got menial jobs and supported themselves.

@@ninetysnano6071 When dems said they wanted to give asylum to Latin American migrants, I assumed that meant the feds would pay for the cost of settling them the same way they did with the Ukrainian refugees, Afghani allies etc. The idea that DHS would allow someone to legally claim asylum but make it illegal for that person to get a job genuinely didn't even cross my mind. Sanctuary city means you don't get handed over to ice, not unlimited free housing.
