Texans love being nasty neighbors to their fellow Americans. Aiding in the harboring of illegals to sanctuary, makes you no different than the sanctuary cities, or the Biden Administration. Stop calling it immigration. Its unlawful entry!
“Illegal Entry”/8 U.S.C. § 1325 makes it a crime to unlawfully enter the United States. It applies to people who do not enter with proper inspection at a port of entry, such as those who enter between ports of entry, avoid examination or inspection, or who make false statements while entering or attempting to enter. A first offense is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine, up to six months in prison, or both.
“Illegal Re-Entry”/8 U.S.C. § 1326 makes it a crime to unlawfully reenter, attempt to unlawfully reenter, or to be found in the United States after having been deported, ordered removed, or denied admission. This crime is punishable as a felony with a maximum sentence of two years in prison. Higher penalties apply if the person was previously removed after having been convicted of certain crimes: up to 10 years for a single felony conviction (other than an aggravated felony conviction) or three misdemeanor convictions involving drugs or crimes against a person, and up to 20 years for an aggravated felony conviction.
Combined, violations of 8 U.S.C. §§ 1325 and 1326 became the most prosecuted federal offenses in recent years. Indeed, as of December 2018, they constituted 65 percent of all criminal prosecutions in federal court. Prosecutions for entry-related offenses subsequently declined when the government began expelling migrants back into Mexico rather than prosecuting them

Research shows that illegal immigrants increase the size of the U.S. economy, contribute to economic growth, enhance the welfare of natives, contribute more in tax revenue than they collect, reduce American firms' incentives to offshore jobs and import foreign-produced goods, and benefit consumers by reducing the prices of goods and services.[11][12][13][14] Economists estimate that legalization of the illegal immigrant population would increase the immigrants' earnings and consumption considerably, and increase U.S. gross domestic product.[15][16][17][18] Most scientific studies have shown that illegal immigrants commit less crime than natives and legal immigrants.[19][20][21] Sanctuary cities-which adopt policies designed to avoid prosecuting people solely for being in the country illegally-have no statistically meaningful impact on crime.[22][23] Research suggests that immigration enforcement has no impact on crime rates.[22][24][25]

This means we can focus on homelessness and student debt, and STILL have money leftover to improve from the inside out.

Depending on the background check, I am not too concerned about Indian and Chinese asylum seekers. They tend to add to the economy, improve social conditions and make neighborhoods safer. They also didn't start coming until they learned they can exploit the asylum system. India and China tend not to allow the very things that make a person successful in the United States. But once again it depends on the background of these migrants. This is going on previous history and what we get this time might be different.
What I am concerned about are the lazy coming from South America, the Caribbeans and Africa. They are not contributing to a growing economy with the conditions for growth. They are just coming after their socialist utopia failed and they need a new place to live on benefits.
