Sorry for delayed response and comment. I somehow missed this reply. Awesome ti hear, we are still happy with our Falken tires and recently tested them in snow and ice conditions, with proven awesome results.
Thank you so much for all the sharing ! love your videos, quick question did you do a LEAF upgrade on the rear ? and a spacer for the 225/75 Falcon? or did you keep the factory LEAF + VAN Compass TOPO 2.0?
Yes, you keep the factory leaf springs in the back. And we went with a VanCompass TOPO 2.0. No rear wheel spacers required. As long as you stay with the 225/75/16. Also, we run 60 psi in our rear tires.
Great info Jason. I'm looking to replace the tires on my Honda Element micro-camper and between the Toyo Open Country AT and the Falkens. I've seen both on other vehicles but your video definitely has me leaning toward the Falkens. Would be the same size as yours so I think they would be nice and stable for my much smaller car.
I considered the Toyo as well, after all of my research and given my needs, the Falken were the choice for us. There are some great TH-cam reviews from qualified non-biased users that Infound helpful as well
Enjoy all your videos and excellent information on the tires and suspension! After 18 months wait, we finally had the build completion date on our EKKO. Do you mind sharing where you got the suspension done? We live near Tacoma and hope to find a shop that is experienced with EKKO and don't mind driving to Oregon. Thanks a bunch!
Hello, I hope all is well. I apologize for the delay in responding sooner. I just got off the phone with Ben, he is one of the installers that has an extensive background in suspension (emergency vehicles, vans, etc.) I would like to connect you with Ben. Is it possible for you to DM/PM me on either instagram or through FB? That way I can provide you with more details. Looking forward to hearing from you and thank you for watching our channel.
We just bought a 2025 ekko 22a. I have watched many hours of your very useful videos. I want to upgrade my tires to the Falkens or KO2 (both 10 ply load range E) exactly that size. That size works on an unlifted transit 350 HD AWD chassis but I want to make sure it will work on the EKKO build. Thoughts? I know you have the 2” lift. I will lift mine later. Can’t afford everything at once.
Hello congratulations on the new EKKO. Awesome! We ran Falken 225/70/16 at 65-70 PSI. Same PSI Freedom VanGo runs even while pulling their large trailer. Also, this size tire does not require spacers or a lift lit. If you go with 245, then you will need spacers and a lift for sure. Keep us posted on your travels. You can reach out to us through our website as well.
Thank you for your reply and thank you again for all of your information rich videos. Your videos were a significant factor in our choice to buy. Sorry you don’t get a commission 😂
Hi Jason, First and Foremost, love your content and channel, thank you for that.... I know this might be an older topic, but thought I'd try and reach to you. I just added the same Wildpeaks 225/75/R16 to my Transit Ekko (2025, 2024 chassis) as you did. Although my tires do not touch where you put your fingers on top, they do kind of kiss each other on the bottom budges. Did yours do that too? Everywhere I look and research, people warn of tires touching due to heat and tire wear/blowouts. Curious????
@@rvbysun5821Thank you so much for following along with our channel and for your kind words! We truly appreciate the support. We have a lot of fun creating these videos, meeting incredible people along the way, and learning as much as we can to share with others. To start, I want to say that the tire we and you choose for the Transit EKKO is, in my opinion, one of the best options out there. In our videos, you’ve probably seen us take these tires through just about every type of terrain imaginable-river rock beds, forest roads, unimproved and improved roads, highways, sand, snow, mud, and more. And through it all, the tires performed exceptionally well. By the time we sold the vehicle, we had put about 25,000 miles on them, and they still had plenty of tread left, looking far from ready for replacement. Regarding your question on tire, it really depends on the PSI you’re running. Most tire shops will fill them to 55 PSI in the the front and rear, which in the rear can cause the tires to touch and compress a bit. We found that 65 PSI was the sweet spot for us based on our travels and loads, allowing some flexibility as the tires heated up or cooled down. In one of our videos, you can actually see a clear line in the snow showing the tire’s path, which highlights the tread pattern and performance. For what it’s worth, Grant, at FreedomVanGo in Florida has put even more miles on these tires with their Transit EKKO, including towing a trailer, and they’ve had no issues. The tires work together rather than independently, so as long as they’re not in prolonged contact under low PSI (like running aired-down tires from the beach straight onto the highway), friction shouldn’t be an issue. Overall, we have nothing but positive experiences with these tires, and I think there are hundreds, if not thousands, of other owners out there who would say the same. Thanks again for your support, and feel free to reach out if you have any other questions! And of course refer to the manufacturer for best practices.
