      Thx for recommending Eco orange multipurpose cleaner, it is good multipurpose cleaner. I diluted the way they recommended and I was able to remove crayon marks, pen marks from my walls . I cleaned my gas which had tough black burned stains on it , it melted those black stains and look clean and good now . This is my multipurpose cleaner from now one , I found my multipurpose cleaner soul mate .

    You just inspired me to clean my toilet now instead of later. 😅 When you said you can clean a toilet in 2.5 minutes, that is what was so inspiring. Normally it takes me like 20min! Today I did it in 10-12 minutes. Getting better! 💪

      Here's a secret - clean the toilet first thing every morning and it eventually takes less than 1 minute for maintenance mode cleaning. (I don't wipe the behind the toilet area every day, just about every 3 days.)

    My question to you is this... do u reccomend using the paper towels rather than microfiber rags?

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Yes, paper towels for toilets, the floor around the toilet and the items that may have pee or overspray on them. (Or other super icky areas) For all other cleaning microfiber cloths and cotton terry cloths are my go-to.

    Hello Angela, Watched this video and followed your instructions. The valve blew off and it was flooding the bathroom! I managed to put the valve on and hold it with my foot. I had my phone, called my client she had to run to the neighbors for help. They were able to turn off the water and fix the valve. I don’t think this is a good idea to miss with the turn off valves. In the future I definitely use a plastic cup to take out the water in the bowl. I had to call a friend to help so the clients home would be cleaned in an appropriate time. Which cost me money!!! I do learn so much from all your video. But , turning the valves off is definitely not a good idea. The rest of the video is great. This could’ve been a disaster which I think it was!!!

      @caitlinhanson8631 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you'd rather not scoop it out with a cup, you could just plunge the toilet, or pour a small bucket of water into it, both will lower the water level

    Great video as always! Just as a precaution it’s not advised to turn the water off at the toilet, some of those valves have not been used for long periods of time and disturbing the valve could cause a drip that may go unnoticed and cause water damage. I personally prefer to use my toilet brush to plunge the water up and over the trap to lower the water enough so I can work on removing the ring. Hope this tip helps keep up the good work I love your channel you’re awesome! ~Jim L.

    What to use for water mineral stains on the bottom of the toilet. Thank you for all your work.

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. I am sorry to respond so late! You have a few options:
      Vinegar and Baking Soda: Pour some vinegar into the toilet bowl, making sure to cover the mineral stains. Allow it to sit for a few hours or overnight. Then, sprinkle baking soda onto the stains and scrub with a toilet brush.
      Commercial Descaling Product: You can also use a commercial descaling product specifically designed to remove mineral deposits from toilets. Follow the instructions on the product for the best results, as different products may have different application methods.
      Hope this helps! Thank you so much! 😃

    Our newest toilets have a surface coating-a glaze and the company, Toto, states to not use anything w/ bleach. We just use a nontoxic environmentally friendly TB cleaner and it's great! That glaze is really nice. I've also used a little vinegar & let it sit for a couple hrs on those rings & it worked nicely.

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. I am so sorry for being so late to respond. Dawn dish soap in warm water and a soft cloth is a great gentle cleaner. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals (such as bleach or ammonia-based products) as they can damage the acrylic surface. And to prevent scratches, never use abrasive materials like steel wool or rough sponges. Thank you so much for watching! 😊

    Stick the toilet brush holder to the wall above the skirting board with Velcro. This stops floor dust accumulating and allows a clean sweep under the brush holder. Same with a small covered bin.
    Use a double toilet roll wall holder so you dispense with on floor roll holders.
    Keep the floor clear
    Only toilet paper has desiccants and kitchen towels will not dedicate. They block toilets

    This May sound dumb, but how do you “clean off / sanitize / or disinfect “ all your bathroom based brushes after use?
    For example, I saw you use a black and red brush for the first bathroom, but you used it to scrub and then just put it back In Your bag? Do you do anything after the day ends or after each house?
    How do you keep all these items clean/sanitized ?
    Thank you!

      Great question. Yes, each job gets it's own cleaning caddy with brushes, sponges and cloths. At the end of the job that cleaning caddy/supplies are retired until inventory at the end of the day. All the brushes and sponges get washed in a hot sanitize cycle in the dishwasher. Cloths get washed in the washing machine.

    Quick tip in getting most of the water out of toilet bowl to apply cleaning product: instead of turning off water supply to toilet, fill a bucket of water and dump in toilet bowl. The water level instantly goes down. After cleaning, flush toilet. Warning: do not have your head hanging over the toilet when flushing as there may be splash😆

    you mentioned cleaning/wiping the toilet brush holder, but what about the toilet brush itself? just dry it out and put back into the holder? also, with the plunger: you said to wipe the outside, but what about the inside? it looks like the plunger in the first bathroom does not have a holder and goes just straight onto the floor

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Plungers, and toilet brushes plus toilet brush holders can be cleaned with a spray and wipe method when you are kneeling at the toilet to clean behind it. Both the toilet brush and the plunger can be washed in the clean water of the toilet. If you have a heavy duty cleaning job for either the brush or the plunger, you can use the clean water from the bathtub with some soap. After cleaning those toilet items, then the bathtub would be cleaned.

      It depends on the pH of the all-purpose cleaner. for flat paint you would need something as close to 7 as possible. If you are reading the safety data sheet for the product - you can find this in section #9.

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know a specific cleaner off the top of my head, but to clean a toilet in a bathroom with carpeted flooring, it's best to choose a toilet bowl cleaner that won't damage the carpet if the brush drips. You can use a toilet bowl cleaner specifically designed for use on carpets, which is formulated to be safe for carpet fibers. Alternatively, use a traditional toilet bowl cleaner, but take extra precautions to prevent drips or spills from contacting the carpet, such as placing an absorbent material around the base of the toilet. Be careful when using any cleaning product in a bathroom with carpeted flooring, and avoid using harsh or abrasive cleaners that can damage the carpet. Regular cleaning and maintenance can help extend the lifespan of carpets while keeping them looking their best.

Also do you use mask, cleaner smell kills my brain and gets into my pores. Ty

    • @AskAngelaBrown

      You are correct, we use 4 select a size paper towels folded in half. Each half on both sides equald 4 sections. So, 16 sections to wipe down the toilet and the floor around the toilet. And you can wear a mask if you are doing a deep clean with heavy duty chemicals, but we usually pH neutral cleaning chemicals in the toilet so a mask is not necessary.

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In a perfect world - all of your clients would have a toilet brush at each toilet. You can ask the client on the walkthrough if they want the water off or left on during the toilet cleaning. Often if you have a basic clean without the need for heavy duty cleaner - you can leave the water on - use the toilet brush next to the toilet and use a mild cleanser like Bon Ami. This way you're not carrying a toilet brush around the customer's homes or toilet bowl cleaner that could leak and leave stains. NOTE: They sell toilet brushes at the dollar tree. Ask the clients to buy one for each toilet. They'll thank you later.

My purchasing jobs have recently incorporated the cleaning supplies. When I went into the closet today I saw a plunger on the floor. I don't under any circumstance recommend pumice stones. Pumice stones can technically be used in a toilet - but if you scratch the porcelain shell off the ceramic around the toilet bowl water line when trying to remove a ring - when you use toilet bowl cleaner again it will permanently stain the ring line blue. SO MANY cleaning techs have gone out in the field and have ruined customers toilets they have to replace for this very reason. Please don't use pumice stones in toilets.

    I am.a house cleaner who has a difficult time sticking to a maintenance clean and typically clean like it's my first clean...I like your episode about the steam mop vs the microfiber spin mop as I am that person who will get down on my knees to clean floors because I am downright picky in cleaning even the corners and can't stand floors with food stuck for days. It makes it extremely difficult to clean up with just a regular mop, but I find steam mops are beasts in cleaning the majority of high traffic areas.
    When I clean anything around a toilet I either use a microfiber with a little cleaner on to dust off the the toilet holder (always notoriously dusty), dust caddy utilizing a microfiber, especially when there are water droplets that stain tops of caddy or even top of toilet bowl holder. I've even washed the item described above in shower as that is just as easy and yiu can let that stuff dry in shower, also a plus..so there is noooo need to waste your time drying the items that go around the toilet..
    I also like your ideas for the different accounts for banking to track 30% that goes to taxes, marketing and money that automatically comes out of main account to pay you.

    I would strongly suggest that one does not turn the water supply off. Each time the water supply knob is turned off and on, it can lead to a leak presenting...talk about an unnecessary business expense of having to pay a clients plumber to fix a leak that may have damaged vinyl flooring or water damage in a second floor bathroom. My suggestion as the alternative is to use a gravity flush. Fill up your mop bucket, lift toilet seat and lid to the upright position and dump the water from the mop bucket into the bowl. This will cause the water in the bowl as well as the mop bucket to evacuate the toilet bowl completely but no refill from the water tank will occur. There will be the smallest inch or so of water still in the exit loop thus no sewer gases will be able to enter, however you then have a very exposed toilet bowl for the ultimate cleaning area. A simple normal flush action will then refill the bowl when completed...the same as when water supply goes out in massive power outages and well pumps or city supply is compromised. You always have one flush remaining to each potty. I usually do a pre-scrub bowl clean prior to the gravity flush to really see what I’m dealing with. I also use the most “unused” toilet (typically a powder room) as my mop water dumping station and clean it last.

Then use scrubbing sponge and scrub all the grime and lime, turn water back on and flush. If you have lime build up under your toilet rim, you can spray strips of toilet paper with vinegar and lay it around the rim, let it sit for awhile then scrub with toilet brush. Hope this helps.

    My plumber told me that the abrasives in comet settle inside the horizontal portion of your plumbing and he says don’t use that stuff. Please comment. What do you think?

      I haven't heard that before. Are you using water to wash it down? We use so little of it and use water after scrubbing the areas that we haven't had problems but it is possible I suppose. Let's both look that up and see if we can find out more information on that. Thanks for sharing it.

      @@AskAngelaBrown I was taught to use it to bleach my porcelain kitchen sink and rinse with plenty of water decades ago, so I was shocked when an older guy plumber told me that I was depositing sand inside my pipes. I’m now a landlord with several buildings to maintain and I threw out all of the abrasive cleaning products I owned in my own house. I told my tenants the same. I’ve never seen the Evidence, though. Thank you for posting your cleaning information. It’s inspiring me to clean up the house!

    can i replace the paper towel to microfiber cloth?

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If it is your own home and you want to use a microfiber cloth on the toilet, sure. We don't recommend it for professional cleaning for cross contamination purposes. We don't want to clean someone's toilet and then accidentally use the same cloth to clean their bathroom sink where their toothbrush, hair brush and makeup are. Does that make sense?

    • @mlouise9861

      The company I work for has us use microfibre instead of paper towel and after using it on a toilet it goes straight into a bag and then you know not to use it again. All cloths get washed afterwards so no cross contamination. I'm in Australia though so I don't know if it's different depending on the country. I just don't like the idea of using something that will contribute to landfill if i don't have to.

    Ma'am please use more than one paper towel. This is not the time to be cheap.😂

    is there a way to clean the toilet tank?

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, a cup of white vinegar left to sit in the toilet tank of water will help clean it. After about 30 minutes you can flush the toilet, use a small brush to clean the tank and reflush. That should clean it nicely and remove any gunk.

    I honestly don’t know how you can do it that fast. I go into peoples houses and start to clean the toilet and it takes ages as the toilet can be dusty, they only supply you with several cleaning cloths and the dust just goes around and around.

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Julie, you will get faster. The average house cleaner cleans between 6 to 15 toilets in a day. After a while you become an ace at it. You've got this.

    Something about wiping the toilet seat after wiping other parts down first. I was taught to only use a corner piece of a microfiber cloth on the seat first...which makes sense. Why would you want to expose skin to germs from the back of the toilet???

    • @cindyb3028
      @cindyb3028 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I wouldn't use a cloth to clean the toilet. I would use something you can dispose like paper towels or Lysol wipes. And I use a seperate piece when I clean the seat.

    Angela, do you have a recommendation that would help in a household that has a lot of pets? I have a house that has 4 cats and 2 dogs. 😓 My method for cleaning a toilet is very similar to you, but I'll wipe and then all of a sudden there's a hair, then another .. ugh.

      Households with lots of pets will require more frequent cleaning. 🤗 Grooming the pets often can help reduce the pet hair too. Hope that helps! ☺

    When spraying that much cleaner. How are you only using one paper towel?

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On a toilet you use 4 x half sheets of paper towels, folded and using each side.
